Edited: I also don't think Honda engine oil will only cost MYR 84 for 4L, typical Syntactic oil will easily cost over RM1XX, especially honda.
Of course the comparison here also not right do with Honda from 2015.

Ah damn. Joined x70 fb group. Only few days there and all i see is complain. Spare part stocks, aftersales services, non competent during servicing, etc. Now in doubt should i still go for x50..

True, the cost in the schedule by Honda is the bare minimum oil spec, which is the semisyn. I had to top up to go full synthetic. But still, the full synthetic by Honda is cheaper than of the shelf price for P or S branded oil in outside workshop.

The link I posted is from proton official website, it should be accurate enough but of course maintenance cost would vary for each users based on their car condition.

I agree the comparison might not be accurate as we are comparing x70 with hr-v which both are of different class with different complexity, anyhow it's just a reference for those who are not aware of. It's not supposed to be a comparison of which brand is cheaper as its not an apple to apple comparison. Here's another comparison that I found if anyone is interested, but again its not an apple to apple comparison ya.



Price difference about 1k only roughly, 1k divide by 60 mths. Ok la add RM17 into your monthly commitments not too bad

You should join other brands fb group too, surely will have complains of other brands too

I agreed, overall scheduled maintenance price for Proton is more than Honda by ~1k over 5 years, or ~1.5 to 2k over 10 years.

Of course the arguments here, that the car value easily offset the price of maintenance, since Honda for the same class is easily 20-30% more expensive.
Honda do have better reselling value than Proton.

Hopefully X50 and X70 will be the changing point for Proton.
Meanwhile Honda quality is getting more complaints and maintenance cost for non-routine components are getting more expansive.
(FYI, I do own a Honda City)

But after spending a lot of time reading there, at least i can conclude that the sc around me, PJ none got bad review yet. 2 sc atm got most of the bad feedback. Have to make sure avoid that sc.

I wont cancel my booking due to cmco but I will cancel if I can't get my car by end of this year provided there is no extension on the SST. No need to rush & can wait for cash rebate if cant get it by end of this year.

Btw, why people say the launch will be delayed since emco? Tanjung Malim is not in red zone. Surely the venue will be in Proton Tanjung Malim right..

When to proton today, salesman told me kena delay to end of this month but not sure true or not

Joined x70 fb group to check on this. After few days, i can say that group is not the right place. The group is more like a kpop fans group, too many extreme haters and extreme die hard lol
