dont trust the gauge.
when pump petrol, check how much you pump vs mileage, you will be surprised proton's meter over states the mileage.
I can understand the gauge reading is not accurate if you have a wide range of routes from highway and city but i have done several test where i have reset the car average Fc reading before heading to North South hw from PJ to Penang with total distance of 355.1km, normally, the gauge estimate and actual calculated fc should be near. However, x50 missed by a mile.when pump petrol, check how much you pump vs mileage, you will be surprised proton's meter over states the mileage.
These are the data:
Trip distance: 355.1km
Fuel: 26.49 liter
Fuel consumption: 13.4051km/liter or 7.46liter per 100km
Gauge reading: 6.7 l/100km
My other car the Proton Inspira P 2.0 cvt gives accurate estimate:
Distance 356.9 km
Fuel: 25.332 liter
FC rate: 7.1l/100km
Gauge reading: 7.2l /100km
Conclusion: don't get excited when your car average fc shown somehow impressive.
For me, i m not too concern of x50 fc as the driving experience is way better n superb compare to my inspira. I did the test purely out of curiosity
