same like that house window grill dilemma... scared thief come in but also scare cannot go out in case of fire emergency

anyway - go for security tint for door windows, but not too thick. it still can be broken and some push, the reason for security tint is so that the glass wont pecah-pecahan but stick in 1 piece (that's why need to push). however, touchwood if really accident, the airbags inflation is enough to help u break the front windscreen (i read somewhere, it is suppose to do so), then u can cabut from front windscreen.
P/s: front windscreen is just normal tint, wont be security tint....

Thanks but front windscreen is usually laminated glass which really is hard to break from what I read hmm.gif

Guys, some questions:

1) Is the RM500 booking fee fully refundable? Need to have a special reason (e.g. loan reject) or can be any reason whatsoever?

2) I'm gonna buy the Executive variant (no add-ons). How long am I expected to wait for the car?

3) If I receive my car after June 2021 (say, in September), am I qualified for the SST exemption price?

Thanks!
*
1. As long as bank loan not yet approved, according to my agent. No need special reason. You can change your mind, switch to another showroom, or simply need to pay rent, and then ask for a refund.

2. Different showroom different waiting time, and also depends on your colour.

3. Todate, the announcement is no more exemption after June, but govt can announced a pro-long exemption. But chances very slim. However, nobody have crystal ball, so we all don't know.

Don't think so. But the top n side indeed darker. Front windshiled is hot as hell when driving. Need to tint.

So guys, I'm actually having a huge dilemma on whether to install a security tint or non-security tint.

A security tint is a double edge sword.

1) Gives extra protection to passengers.

2) But it could be fatal during emergencies when you need to break the windows to escape.

This is a real dilemma for me.

What are the odds of road rage/attack vs fire/car submerged in water?

My family member accident case make me think twice. His daughter face is injured heavily by the glass break at side mirror when impact. Sometimes not bout robberies only. Accident impact a lot more. Till now my pretty niece still got scars on her face. As for fatal emergency. I ever take out the headrest before. Which seems quite easy with X50. Can use that to break window if needed. From What I heard. Breaking the window inside is easier than outside. But I nvr try before. Maybe U can ask the installer to demo before u install their security tint.

You should be able to register any state number plate from any JPJ office.

What's important is which area the road tax is registered to.

For example,

One of my cars is registered to Sabah number plate in Semenanjung Malaysia.

I bought the Sabah plate at Padang Jawa JPJ & register the car there.

Yes, you can register your motor vehicle with any States in Malaysia except for Labuan and Langkawi which are duty-free zone areas. Motor vehicles from these two places can only be driven in the rest of Malaysia for a certain period of time in a calendar year. The motor vehicles' prices on the road (before insurance) are lower than rest of the Malaysia.

Yes, you are right.

But what about the Labuan plates?

If car is bought in Semenanjung, but owner wanted to buy Labuan plates & register the car for usage in Semenanjung.

Should be possible.

I still believe you can't do that. It is obvious to identify whether the car is bought from a duty-free area/zone is look at their registration number plate. Thus, if you are allowed to register a car from these places even though it came with all the duties paid doesn't make sense. Customs will have a tough time carrying out audit on such cars and this also can lead to abuses. The best place to confirm is with JPJ.

Labuan is duty free zone. Similar to langkawi plates, Labuan plates is only reserved for duty-free cars registered in Labuan.

Want Labuan plates but register the car for usage in Semenanjung? Yes, can. Here are the steps;

1. Purchase your desired car (in this case it will be a X50 since this is an X50 thread)
2. Register the car in Labuan (only)
3. Once registered, you have 90 days to use the car in Peninsular Malaysia. Other than that, the car has to remain on Labuan soil for the rest of the year.
4. Want to bring the car out to use for more than 90 days? Yes, can. Pay the fine. Or risk getting the car seized and get lelong by kastam.

Exactly what I mentioned in my first email that you can use the car only for a specific period of time in a calendar year. To the person who posed the question, why do you want to do it? Is it because the Labuan alphabet resembles your initial so you want to register your car there?

Heads-up / sharing here for X50 users.

My X50 went for 1k/1month first service on last week.

Proton 3S center informed their Proton system is down and insisted you must paid first for 1st services.

To make it short, I have to argued my way out with the manager and insisted not to pay anything until their system is up for clarification. The solution now, if system is up and claim I not the user first 30,000 booking then I will have make my complaint to Proton HQ.

As I have an official receipt that I booked before they even announce 20k booking from 2 weeks after launching. Thus I'm very sure I'm one of the 20k customers who booked earlier.

HLB 2.27% 70k 5 yrs.
HLB 2.29% 70k 7 yrs.
This is their offer, must follow. I can't say want lower loan or higher loan amount. They fix it for X50 at 70k. Take or leave. If customize amt/year, all needs to renegotiate and may get higher rates, according to the offers from my end

My loan with HLB 98k

I signed up for Utility Package 3.3k already, and for whatever colour that comes available soonest. Else, book today, get in 2022 most likely. And if can wait, for bookings after June, you can skip the package.
*
If take 2022 you will need to pay SST, the most important you may not getting 2.2x interest rate when economy bounce back.

Bro I had similar case when I sent my car for service last one month plus. They talked and explained to me politely and told me that they will contact me for the update. Indeed, 2 weeks later they called me and said my refund was on the way and got it in another week later. I know I can make a scene and call Proton, resist to make payment or go to another SC and try to find out elsewhere. But I just didn't. They are 3s or 4s dealer, there are rules and guides they have to follow and they wont simply do things as they like. (I also heard news that certain Proton dealer were being punished just for jumping queue on the car allocations).

Just wanted the alphabet in front. But per advice here, seems I can consider all other states except duty free zones. Sad. Thanks to all.
