Hey everyone. Long time lurker on this thread and seen every X50 video (except the new 1 hr video from Hafriz).

Getting tired of waiting 2 months for the X50 dy.. and probably will need to wait 3-6 months. Plus SST gonna kick in soon. What do you guys think between X50 Flagship vs Honda Civic TC-P? I know there's a RM30k gap but if we put that aside, would you go for it? Considered the City V but I'm not impressed that they inherited old engine and didn't provide any ADAS at all in a 2020 model for RM90k. Hence thinking of switching over to Civic TCP.

Sorry if not right forum feel free to ignore. Look forward to any advice.

Go ahead, if you have the capacity to fund the difference.

Please consider Subaru XV. I had few other ‘almost’ X5” owners cancelled booking and bought Subaru XV instead and so far not complaining

Did the XV finally come with EyeSight as promised by TCM?
If not, don't waste your money.

Maybe you can say some bad things about the Proton leaders, but they definitely know how to gamble.

Holding a pair of Twos and going All in with no move until Dec 29, I am impressed.

And all just minutes after I finished my cancellation later, at least not printed out yet.

So let´s continue our happy waiting.

No sure lucky for u or not.

Now you have keep waiting till SST exemption end date.

You know what I mean, Proton cant commit to 1st and 2nd time on timeline. 3rd time probably the same.

Haha... happy waiting

SUV wise if you don't fancy the collision warning, XV is a good alternative, it drives better than X50 and much more easier to drive as well with very narrow turning radius.

only thing I don't like from the XV apart from eyesight is the lack of Android Auto & Carplay just like the X50, overall is a better quality ride & space compared to X50,
Power although not as strong as X50, but it is sufficient and good enough. Their AWD is no joke yo

It is also severely underpowered for an AWD, which does not make it fun to drive.
Subaru is the market leader for AWD, but unless the XV is turbocharged, it will be a slow stable drive (boring).
EyeSight is more than just collision warning: http://www.subarueyesight.com

Let's not also forget the poor after sales service by TCM.

Their parts are quite reliable, their chain-driven CVT is top class durable compared to other CVT which is driven by belt, speaking of periodic maintenance just abang adik with X50 only..

About the power see which car you are comparing with, take out X50 and Hyundai Kona, the XV is actually sufficiently powered,
Severely underpowered is an overstatement.

After Sales Service wise is better than Proton most of the time, go take a look at Subaru thread, not much complaints compared to Proton probably because their market share is smaller so you don't bump in to long queue as well.

After all this xv thing, I do read on the xv car club. Surprisingly the xv with 2.0 boxer na suffer with not so great fc eventhough combo with cvt.

The only concern is the Tan Chong after service. Especially on the warranty claim

Malaysia car buyer have limited knowledge about cars, they just like to join the bandwagon.

More Myvi on the road doesn't make Myvi is a better car compared to Jazz/Yaris/Iriz, its just the Malaysian's choice.

Not among the top in term of FC, but not far away with rivals.

Speaking from having heavier Subaru Forester with older MPI engine clocking around 9-12km/l
That's in general better than Iswara 1.3L MT, XV being lighter and Direct Injected should be better than The Forester.

But anyways let's move on since this is X50 thread, not to derail too much focusing on other cars.
