Exactly the issue. Good review overall.
*
Has anyone reported this issue to Proton? Looks like a RHD conversion fail.

Would be a good try to raise this issue, mirror is such a basic thing.
If not, raise it via car reviewers.

Someone has posted this on Proton's FB, let's see their reply.
It is odd they would get this wrong on the X50, when it does not seem to be a problem on the X70.

Charging the battery to maintain battery health. Both x70 and x50 drain battery even when the car is off and locked.

How long would it take for the battery to drain to 50%?

Heard from my SA today that the medium/smaller dealers are only allocated 15 cars, up to this month. Anyone in the queue after that will end up waiting next year di. Very unlikely that there will be anymore allocated this year.

Anyone has lately gotten their loan approved? What is the interest rate for 5 or 7 years?

Mbb offered 2.29% and 2.30% respectively.
*
How much loan are you taking?

Honestly, dah tawar hati nak tunggu kereta nye sampai. Sebab saya follow FB page of the dealer, at least ada satu X50 delivery every 3 days. Chase SA, SA kata belum you punya turn lagi. Tunggu saja la.

If betul tak dapat kereta before 31/12, consider cancel altogether la booking semua.
*
That is a small number of deliveries actually, roughly 10 cars a month.
Most dealers are only allocated with 15 cars at most, since mid November till now.
Not sure what is the allocation for this month, but will only get next month.

I booked on launch also my dealer saying may only get in Feb.
Cakap takde orang potong q, but sounds irrational would take so long.
I took the optional accessories and flagship blue color some more.

Honestly, Proton needs a total revamp to their image among Malaysians.  Now, they are resurrected to life due to Geely's products, innovations and management expertise otherwise, they will sink to obivilion.  I have 2 Protons in the past when I first started my career many years ago and utterly disappointed with their cars. I sworn never to have another Proton car again. I have moved on to Japanese cars and continental cars of which I'm happy with those cars.  Now, I came back to Proton because of Geely's rebadging of their car into X50 and why not, it is good based on the media reviews and brief test drive.

However, the mind sets of their SAs rally put me off. For me, X50 will my last Proton car, no matter how good future Proton cars will going to be with Geely's inputs. Enough is enough!!
*
At one time, there was also no such thing as test drive. Kalo you mau beli, kalo tak mau boleh belah. Then due to AFTA, they had to introduce excuse duty on all cars. Eventually, Proton's pricing was no longer competitive. People started buying non national brands and you start to see less and less of their new models on the road.

Now that they are on the up swing, this whole current situation feels like deja vu all over again. Not even a peep from their management on the supply issues, delays on fulfillment, etc. Dr Li seems to be focused on quick wins, the underlying issues is going to take some time to fix. Hope their management actually fixes these underlying issues, going to be make or break next year. They won't be able depend on hype and tax holiday to maintain sales.

Depend on ur right foot. Or welcome to turbo engine where window for great fc is very small. Really need to control right foot

Turbo engines are much better for highway cruising than NA. However, in city driving with a lot of stop-go driving and creeping during traffic jams, not so much.

Today got call from SA, I will not get the car before 31 Dec. When booking end of October he was very optimistic but even it is a very big branch they almost got no cars yet.

No agreement with Proton and Govment, so SST will be charged. Very probably will get these access packages (which I dont need) for free. After all details are known also can discuss about discount.

Did not cancel the booking immediately told him they can keep my RM 500 for two more weeks until all details are known.
*
There is rumor that if govt credits to extend SST rebate, they won't announce until Jan 1. This is to avoid cancelations amd affect sales for this year. Also, if you are not in a hurry, you can wait till end of next year for the usual end of year discounts and promotions.

How far are you along the queue? How many has your dealer delivered so far?

Hey everyone. Long time lurker on this thread and seen every X50 video (except the new 1 hr video from Hafriz).

Getting tired of waiting 2 months for the X50 dy.. and probably will need to wait 3-6 months. Plus SST gonna kick in soon. What do you guys think between X50 Flagship vs Honda Civic TC-P? I know there's a RM30k gap but if we put that aside, would you go for it? Considered the City V but I'm not impressed that they inherited old engine and didn't provide any ADAS at all in a 2020 model for RM90k. Hence thinking of switching over to Civic TCP.

Sorry if not right forum feel free to ignore. Look forward to any advice.
*
Another option to consider is the City RS e:HEV coming next month, the pricing is still unknown at this moment. The face lifted Civic TC-P is a good option to consider, but I've heard that it has sold out for this year. You might want to check with your dealer on what you can actually buy now.

According to the latest news posted at PT, vehicles that are in distributors’ hands by December 31 will still be exempt from SST next year, but they have to be registered by January 31, 2021. So if you can secure a car from your dealer now, you can still avoid the SST when you register it next month.

So, SST confirm ada balik la next year. Untuk kereta yang register tahun depan, ready la duit lebih sikit nak cover cost SST tu....

Please consider Subaru XV. I had few other ‘almost’ X5” owners cancelled booking and bought Subaru XV instead and so far not complaining
*
Did the XV finally come with EyeSight as promised by TCM?
If not, don't waste your money.

SUV wise if you don't fancy the collision warning, XV is a good alternative, it drives better than X50 and much more easier to drive as well with very narrow turning radius.

only thing I don't like from the XV apart from eyesight is the lack of Android Auto & Carplay just like the X50, overall is a better quality ride & space compared to X50,
Power although not as strong as X50, but it is sufficient and good enough. Their AWD is no joke yo
*
It is also severely underpowered for an AWD, which does not make it fun to drive.
Subaru is the market leader for AWD, but unless the XV is turbocharged, it will be a slow stable drive (boring).
EyeSight is more than just collision warning: http://www.subarueyesight.com

Let's not also forget the poor after sales service by TCM.

It isn't underpowered at all imo, you can't compare it with x50 knowing that its of an older gen. Apple vs orange comparison. Take an XV off road, it will smoke the x50 anytime. Anyways the XV should be getting a 1.6 turbocharged engine this year I believe.
Actually I was considering to get the XV before x50 launched but kept my decision on hold to wait for the x50. I have decided to go for the x50 because I do not need an AWD considering for the price difference although it is a nice to have during the rainy days. Without the x50, I would pick the XV over the HR-V anytime. This year would be interesting if they can come out with the 1.6 turbocharged version considering that the SST have extended.
*
The XV won't be getting the 1.6 turbo engine here in Malaysia. MotorImage (TCM) has not been a good distributor for our market. Unfortunately, they are slow to update the car and bring in new features, even if the same facelift has already received the updates in other markets. Also the EyeSight for XV was promised to arrive by late 2019, yet until now no updates on it.

The XV may be well planted, but it is sluggish, even performing slower than the HRV in the century sprint. Maybe you are special in that you have plans to take your car off-road regularly, but I can assure you that most drivers won't. Taking it off-road regularly would require special tires for that and won't be as comfortable on roads.

Anyone book X50 from Proton Regal PJ on 16th Sept and got their car?

I also book at the same time as you, at this dealer. Until now also no news.
Have to keep chasing the SA to get updates.

Mind sharing your queue no.?
Apparently, 15 cars were delivered by this dealer last month.

I am now waiting for the City RS e:HEV launch before following up with the dealer again.

Anyone improve X50 audio system with DSP ? If yes, please share.

You will need to get one that is CanBus compatible.
Not sure what is your budget, so can't recommend.
