There is so many different information out there. My SA told me I'm in q no. 90++ despite booking on 16th Sept. So it's unlikely for me to get the car this year. I understand that some outlet is too popular and you'll get the car sooner if you book at outlet with less order.

I have asked my SA whether is there any way to push up my timeline but she said no.

And then in facebook group, there are claims that you'll get the car sooner if you pay cash or go for the "optional" package. And I have actually booked from 4 outlet and none of them said this is true.
*

I also talked to 3 or 4 SA.

All said no speed up for cash buyers. I asked what is faster because I could buy cash or take a loan, both equally ok for me.

All (!) said if you take the "optional package" it will cause DELAY.

Some say the "popular colors" (red for example) will take LONGER, the not so popular will go faster.

But the main thing is the PRICE. As most orders cannot be delivered before Dec 31 whatr about the tax in 2021? Some SA told me that Proton will absorb the cost, some told me, the customer needs to pay. Obviously Proton has not decided yet. I will not take the ordered Flagship if it will be RM 6k more expensive but claim the RM 500 deposit back. But with so many orders Proton maybe does not care about cancellations and just wave goodbye to you. I hope Geely will think different and urge to absorb the tax cool2.gif

By the way meanwhile I got two SMS about my order already, hope the first date still counts. But I don´t really care about the delivery date as long as the price stays at 103.300 w/o insurance.

It's still business, so i doubt they will help customer absorb. If they wanted to, they could have done it during the launching (e.g. 1st 30k bookings)
*

Well, if they not absorb the costs and keep the price they have advertised then certainly many people will cancel their bookings. Sure it not hurts as much as with other cars with not so good booking record. But every lost customer that goes to another brand hurts in the end, for example Perodua will definitely go hunting for these disappointed customers with their new D55L. Not alternative for me but surely for some folks who placed order for the Standard.

Lol screw all these liars damn them keep saying ‘no such thing as cut queue’ bullshit

Well, the question is who decides this. If the dealer makes the decision on his own EVERYTHING is possible, also order today and get tomorrow cool2.gif

More new cars coming, if priced closely or lower than X50 many will drop booking, especially the Perodua's D55L will sure affect the booking.
*
Oh yes! If Proton decides to hike up the prices for 2020 bookings from that day many other brands will come with very sexy offers to make you cancel your booking and move over to them whistling.gif

If I would be Perodua I would give everyone RM 500 extra discount for the D55L who comes over to them with the receipt for the X50 booking cool2.gif

Anyway, I am still optimistic that Proton will keep the price for my booking and deliver the car mid 2021. If they not keep the price, I am not angry, I just take back my RM 500 and wait for the next car I fall in love with. I know that it will happen sooner or later biggrin.gif

Now get call from sales saying that priority will be given to those who take the RM3500 package o0o
still so lansi to say
"if you take the package, confirm can get by this month"
"if don't want, then next year maybe end of jan or feb will get"
"aiya, you see, you spend 3500 now and get it, but you need to pay SST , even higher than 3500 if you get next year"
"so consider it wisely"

ccb
I just reply
"prepare to get my cancellation after the SST price gap being announce"

END CALL
*

WTH? Are we here talking about buying a carpet at the Grand Bazaar or is this a serious car business?

I hope I will not get a call like this, I don´t expect it as my sales guy seems to be serious. And he told me, that I should not believe anything about the Tax Holiday after 31 Dec is decided already. Also Proton made no decision what to do yet.

Actually TODAY Proton posted this on their facebook page cool2.gif

white color and black color is favorite color globally, not surprising la. so if take white will be slower one.
*
Strange. When I am abroad, no matter if China or Europe I am always suprised almost no white cars on the street at all. What a difference when coming back home to Malaysia.

According to my SA at my branch Red is by far the most booked color for Flagship. Silver and Blue are the least booked. The Red is really a nice red and only for flagship, guess this is the reason.

Are you sure X50 will not have good resale value?

I barely find any used x70, even if there is I don't see any x70 selling anywhere below 80k

One can argue X70 is new, but still undeniably true that demand>supply for Proton SUV
*

Well, time will tell.

I am not too optimistic about the resell value of X50 or X70 five years from now.

They are the frontrunners of a new automobile era, but for example many of the new gadgets of the X50 flagship now will be standard very fast and the technique will be much more mature very fast. Level 2 semi-autonomous driving is amazing now but it will be outdated very fast.

Anyway, I want to have fun now, so I take the risk of being a testdriver for a new technology. And I don´t think about the resell value too much, otherwise - sorry - I would not buy a Proton. Also for Geely it will take a long time to get the reputation of Toyota or Honda. I think we talk here not about years but decades. But sure, I would not consider a Proton at all if not Geely stands behind. Actually (If I don´t cancel because of SST) it is my first Malaysian car ever after Japanese, Korean and German. Fingers crossed.

I wonder why user cannot change the "name" of the voice command system. I do not want to call my car "Proton", I want to give it a better and more personal name biggrin.gif

well seems like the rest of us are up for 2021

and plenty of conspiracy on next years deliveries on socmed now lol absorb sst la, free package la etc
*
Today got call from SA, I will not get the car before 31 Dec. When booking end of October he was very optimistic but even it is a very big branch they almost got no cars yet.

No agreement with Proton and Govment, so SST will be charged. Very probably will get these access packages (which I dont need) for free. After all details are known also can discuss about discount.

Did not cancel the booking immediately told him they can keep my RM 500 for two more weeks until all details are known.

There is rumor that if govt credits to extend SST rebate, they won't announce until Jan 1. This is to avoid cancelations amd affect sales for this year. Also, if you are not in a hurry, you can wait till end of next year for the usual end of year discounts and promotions.

How far are you along the queue? How many has your dealer delivered so far?
*
Yeah, I am not in a hurry at all. Had no plan to buy a new car, only the tax holiday and some flagship gimmicks made me order.

I don´t know my position in the queue, also would take orange or blue. Also don´t know how many they delivered already. As I cannot get it before 31 Dec there is no reason for me to keep inquiring. I just wait for their offer then decide if I cancel the booking or not. But only a substancial cash rebate that brings the price down to the original 103´300 would keep me waiting. No accessories catch my interest, except free tinting cool2.gif

I asked my SA how many X50 has your outlet delivered so far to their customers? You know what, he said, "not many". I asked him, not many is "how many"? He couldn't answer me and said, he need to ask his boss. What lah, as a SA you don't know?  It means that you are not interested in your products, your job and the lack of drive.

Come on, it is not the business of a SA to give out internal numbers. He easily could be fired for telling you this, depending on the mood of his boss and how embarrassing the exact number is for this Proton branch.

There is only one to blame for this disaster, that is Proton HQ and at the end of the line the Proton CEO. Advertising a tax holiday for many months and collecting 50000 X50 and X70 bookings while knowing the maybe can only deliver 5000 is close to illegal practise. People booked and paid RM 500 and waited and not considered competitors of Proton and so wasted the chance to use the tax holiday. Not telling the truth until mid December while it was crystal clear long time the cannot deliver for maybe 90 % of the customers until end of the year. And the HQ let the branches and SA standing in the fire, that is really bad practice.

While waiting for the announced "Customer Appreciation Plan" I already have a strong feeling that I don´t want to make business with this company. Would have been my first Proton car.

Maybe you can say some bad things about the Proton leaders, but they definitely know how to gamble.

Holding a pair of Twos and going All in with no move until Dec 29, I am impressed.

And all just minutes after I finished my cancellation later, at least not printed out yet.

So let´s continue our happy waiting.

I am so sick of this these cheaters. Cancel the completely free 1k service, loyalty reward only if you die, what's next in customer mockery?

We could not do the 1k service in 2020 because you did not deliver the cars!

The factory is in Perak, not Selangor. So no MCO there, only CMCO. But so close to the border, trouble cannot be avoided I guess.

I don't think making consumer report will help to solve the case. Just my 2 cents.
It's a capitalism world. If you don't take the car, someone else would gladly take so Proton or dealer is milking whatever they can now. Profit is profit.
*

And in the capitalist world customer is king. Proton will learn it´s lesson, that is for sure. Now after performing very bad for many years, they enjoy the windfall profit of Geely donating a design masterpiece to them with great technology, so they think they are king. If they think because of that they can treatr customers like shit, good luck!

Only 1k units delivered last month! At this rate, I'll never get my Flagship model (booked on 16 September) delivered in the next two months doh.gif
*

Just think about the deadline 30/6/21. Will be tough enough for Proton to fulfill the bookings until end of Oct 20.

Nov need to be lucky, Dec probably can give up already.

8.1L/100km is not that bad but my friend new car still within 1000 km , the fuel performance like drinking water @ 12.1 L / 100km. Probably need to wait after 1k service.
*
You all know how much petrol the A/C is consuming? At least 1 L/ 100 km, when city driving and extra hot much more.

So all these official numbers by the car companies are always with A/C on zero cool2.gif
