Nope. Because the system will automatically start your engine first before starting the aircon (therefore not putting too much strain on the battery and starter). Besides, the user manual also never mention that you have to ensure the aircon is off before starting the car.

Went for a short test drive today.

It is powerful and the suspension soaks up bumps pretty well but I didn't like a few things which are dealbreakers to me:
- Back seats are hard to get into because of that thick pillar thing beside the door
- Boot size is really small (I thought XV and CHR were rather small but this is even smaller)

You can try your luck at cyberjaya, just go for any 4S dealers. Avoid small branches, only 3S & 4S dealers can sell x50.

I think the concern here should not be aircon, anyone worry about the battery ? My SA told me to specifically off aircon and radio before switching off engine

Just to update, my SA told me luckily she did not cancel the booking queue at HQ side (only at their dealer side) so my waiting time now is estimated at 3-4 months only instead of 6 months +

SA just gave me a call confirming I'm probably not getting the car this year.

dealer 1 : fook loi SDN BHD. Got so many branch around Sabah. 3S and 4S mostly.

dealer 2 : Harapan Maju SDN BHD 3S. Only 1 branch.

Should i booking with fook loi or harapan maju? fook loi so many branch maybe proton HQ give them more quota X50 or book with harapan maju 1 branch only less people que so can get car cepat ?

I booked mine in a very small branch in S'ban. They seem to be quite slow with allocation but mine has already arrived, should be delivered this week.

If my info is not wrong, currently most of car manufacturing plants including Geely is facing shortage of chips supply due to America's sanction. It is estimated will delay around 400k cars delivery for now.
Modern car required hundreds of chips for their electronic devices such as Ecu, Esp etc.
Hope China can overcome the shortage.

Just received mine yesterday. Booked at Glenmarie SA. I also dont know how I can get mine so early despite the SA telling me that early batches are mostly for VIPs (and trust me I am a nobody).

Car drives good. The power steering is a tad too light IMO. After I drove my old car to park which I think has a light steering felt so heavy.

The thing I directly notice and dislike the most about it would probably be its lack of thigh support. Quickly felt tired during driving. The support/cushion is there just that its not high enough to really support the thighs. Not sure if its my seat/steering position that is causing this. I think Adrian from Wapcar addresses this in his review.

The thing I like the most was the Proton Link. Its so useful and has some good function in it.

But guys, the dashboard and A pillar gap is real. Hahaha. But not to obvious tho. Thank God I dont have the misalign rear lights.
