is there anyone test drive the premium? Wondering will it be a very big difference in terms of the power compare with flagship since flagship is using TGDi engine.

The number look significant, considering that less than 10 HP difference in Myvi already can be felt, but of course Myvi is lighter..

A bit surprise to see this 15.T MPI output is slightly lower than their in house 1.4T MPI in some ways

seriously.. 10k (air filter) and 20k (n95 filter) already changed filter.. what a waste?
not only that, each service also needs to replace those filters..

If you notice carefully, both air filter and cabin filter alternately change every 20k which I think is reasonable. My Myvi also has similar interval.

Yes, to change N95 filter every 12 months is quite reasonable considering it is much more efficient to filter air borne particles compared to the normal air filter. Plus, the air on the road is so much more polluted.

High demand due to the high specs/quality vs price. Proton should follow Mazda strategy with "higher quality & premium price" to upmarket their products. Should price the x50 20k more.. base with 99k & 123k for the flagship & may be increase x70 price 10k. Even if the flagship at 123k. i think will still sell like hotcakes considering the Hyundai Kona flagship , ch-r 140k+ brows.gif

pricing a "national brand" car which is wholly CKD at that price is no different then committing suicide lol.gif even at this price point, so many are complaining "it is expensive".

Agree. One of the reason why perodua is still top sales.
Once D55 comes out, it will eat some of the X50 sales for sure..

X50 parts actually look expensive to me considering they R&D and made in China even it is purchased at China like the video shown earlier.

If it was from other 1st world country like German, Japan I can understand.

definitely because after all the D55 is a "Daihatsu" so people won't complain too much.

Hi fellow LYN future X50 owners!

I have just did a complete, indepth all you need to know video (in bahasa) regarding to x50 maintenance and future repairs.

In the video i highlighted this key points

- cost and parts specification that needs to be replaced during the interval service and estimation of full service cost for 5 years/100k

- compare some differences between the specification of parts between x50 and geely coolray

- cost for wear and tear item such as battery, tyres, timing belts and carbon cleaning

- most important!, Cost estimation for major parts and components (turbo, gearbox, sensors, etc2) which is not in the wear n tear list, which u might need to replace incase of an accident or if your warranty has finished or void, or even if you get fedup with the parts waiting time..

I hope this video will be very beneficial for upcoming new owners of this X50 and those who are still considering of getting one soon.

looking at Geely Binyue pricing in RMB (sold in China) then you will able to get a feeling about the X50 pricing in comparison perspective. wasn't too sure what is the automotive pricing tax structure in MY vs in China though.

i think someone mentioned about the pricing of the Binyue in RMB, it was supposed to be a dirt cheap car and even after direct conversion to MYR, it should not hit the price Proton launched it few days ago but I also remember watching a youtube review (i think from wapcar) on the Binyue in China, the X50 is very much more refined.

so there's that.

Direct comparison doesn't work, many fail to understand the cost of producing 100,000 cars vs the cost of producing 1,000 cars would totally be different. China market is way larger than malaysia.
