QUOTE(protonx50 @ Nov 2 2020, 03:01 PM) These 8k people not necessarily lucky. The SST maybe a 2-3k. One year car depreciation cost would be easily 10k. You do the math. sure not only increase by 2-3k? i saw someone in fb group said based on x70 executive after the exemption, the difference is almost 6k. so i think probably will increase up to 6k. not sure la if true, but i think will increase up to 6k with the tax. but that just based on the x70 la. i also not sure. haha. but if the depreciation will be 10k, then increase 6k also still ok la. Car depreciation only matters if you plan to resell the car, for those who are taking 7-9 years loan honestly it doesn't really matter that much. I rather take the SST exemption. Heck I will even pay RM100-200 extra angpau to the SA if he can get me the car before year end |

And fast fast asked the bank agent readjust it when price was announced. Now waiting for car plate PPP, but SA warned me it might be sold like hotcake as WWW. |

Today, just tested the X50 flagship at Bayan Lepas, Penang. I also confirmed my order for the flagship. According to the SA, the center itself already achieve 200 confirmed ordered up to-date, for my order here expected around Mar-2021 for delivery date. (I booked on 19-Oct). Not sure I should be worry, the auto parking does not work on this morning, seem like front sensors got issue. Seems Proton's quality for 1st batch is still not up to level. On the positive side, the car is really fun to drive. Coming from old cars like Peugeot 2007, Myvi (1st gen), Honda City -VTEC with pedal shift; I would said it is very responsive and powerful. Feeling is like driving a sport car performance (I only drove around 70 to 120km/h in a short range). Then also drove the X70 for comparison, 1st impression, the front view seem lower than X50. Maybe due X50 seat is being adjust to higher, the X70 also feel like seeing in wider angle. On my noob driving comparison (around 70-100km/h), the sport mode on X70 is just like the X50 on normal mode. For ECO mode on X70, I have to agree it is abit sluggish, while X50 is still good for my comfort. When come to X50 sport mode, it is damn fun with those raw power, I do feel more like driving a sport car kind of power. Then on the comfort level, I don't significant better with X70 on city. Perhaps better when running on highway due to more solid and heavy car. No doubt here X70 is a notch better NVH and interior look more classy than sporty X50. On different perspective here, one distinct different for me is the braking, X50 is very responsive (braking according to how hard your foot pressing) and you don't really feel like any jerking alike or lagging alike here when compare to X70. While both braking is responsive, X70 is much more heavier, my psychology feeling is the car is leaning forward when braking. Besides the driving performance here, overall X50 flagship is my choice over X70 executive. Power, safety and size are my major preferences here which X50 is better. X70 do feel more executive car (like my old Peugeot vs. Honda City), interior is classy, but to me a bit boring for my preference. Dual tone with the floating screen and simplify in buttons attracted me more and also the bucket seat does make your feel more secure during cornering. Lastly, I think X50 on long term maintenance cost would be lower than X70 (at least on globally X50/Binyue/Coolray volume is higher than X70/Boyue). However it is also half toward the Volvo XC40 maintenance cost It is getting too long here, thanks for reading. Just my 2-cents. Seng89, crystalclearlah, and 3 others liked this post

QUOTE(protonx50 @ Nov 2 2020, 12:49 PM) i just came back from testing X50. Omg, all the showroom display cars all sapu kosong. My SA told me customers willing and paid even showroom cars condition...i never tot the X50 can be so hot as this. Is crazy men, last time any new car launched, no one wants to buy display or show room car but this round X50 shows the side of extraordinary. People cant wait to buy one. High demand due to the high specs/quality vs price. Proton should follow Mazda strategy with "higher quality & premium price" to upmarket their products. Should price the x50 20k more.. base with 99k & 123k for the flagship & may be increase x70 price 10k. Even if the flagship at 123k. i think will still sell like hotcakes considering the Hyundai Kona flagship , ch-r 140k+ |
