what is your top speed now? For me, stock sprocket or 15-42 gives me about the same top speed (150kph). The high rpm power is not enough to give me further boost unless I change the camshaft to alter the powerband.

There are a lot more things to change, like ignition coil and spark plug. Can also remove air filter. These can help in acceleration.

For the fan, I have no idea. Either u keep turning it on, or leave it off.

as told by charge_n_go, u should try to change ur sprocket setting. from my experience changing from stock setting (15-39) to 15-40 (428 chain), i can really feels the acceleration while maintaining my topspeed. Try to play around with ur sprocket setting 1st since it is not too expensive compared to CDI. go for cheap2 brand 1st, after u got the best setting, then u might consider to get better brand. after that, u can try to remove ur air-filter since the the diff in performance is noticeable and zero-cost... brows.gif

More 'hissing' sound.
Low rpm we can hear it, but high rpm, we only hear exhaust sound.

When airbox is removed, the mixture will tend to go lean, need to increase the mainjet and needle jet.

Usually sprocket set is around RM40.

15-39 ratio = 2.600
15-40 ratio = 2.667 (2.5% better in accel)
15-41 ratio = 2.733 (5.2% better in accel)
15-42 ratio = 2.800 (7.7% better in accel)

From personally experience, I liked 15-42. Just 5kph top speed drop, but the acceleration is awesome. 3rd gear feels alive and kicking. It is suitable for city road, as we dont need high top speed.

This morning i brought my LC go bike shop for some tuning. Just want to share with u guys...

Before
Top speed : 125kmph, if drag abit can go up to 130
Accel : Not smooth, will experience some power drop once in a while

After
Top speed : around 140kmph, the foreman said depends on your riding skill (how you drag and how you change the gear). He also said now my 3rd gear can drag until 120kmph
Accel : Very good. No more power drop so far i tested the bike. Accel from 0 - 100kmph took approx 7 sec.
Example : Just now stop with an ex5 at traffice light. 1st gear lost to ex5 abit, 2nd gear same position, 3rd gear already bye bye liao. That ex5 got mod abit cause i can hear the exhaust pipe sound a bit noisy.

What has been done to my bike
1. Adjusted air flow (let more air flow to flow in), adjusted TPS, adjusted timing
2. The foreman also shorten my chain for 2 steps. Now my chain has became shorter, i believe this has also changed the gear ratio indirectly.

Overall
Top speed increased by 10kmph
Accel increased a lot, can feel the difference.

Cost & Time
RM60
It took 2 hr to adjust the settings, cause the foreman need to test my bike at highway

Anyway the tauke of this shop does not recomend to modify the engine part, like removing the air filter, changing the caburator... he can only do the mod without touching the enginer part.

My next mod
Reduce my front tyre size to 70/80 (currently using 80/90). Hope this will increase the accel a bit.

Upcoming news
I kap siao with the tauke while waiting for my bike to be fixed, heard he said yamaha and suzuki will release a 150cc kapchai very soon.
yamaha - will use the fuel injection technology, thus increasing the FC but at the same time reducing the power.
suzuki - another twin cam (DOHC) bike, the tauke said this bike will definately beat the yamaha 15cc

Hot Bike motor lor, opposite Jelutong police station. But i remember samba18 bro said the tauke charge very expensive one blush.gif
There are 2 types of settings you can ask the foreman to set, top speed or accel.
Mine set for accel, this will increase your accel more but increase top speed a bit only.
And if you want more accel, you can ask the foreman to chop your chain shorter like mine, hehe...

15/42 (2.800) y dont u get 12/34 (2.833), since the larger the front sprocket will make ur enjine stress, i wan 12 (front) but i cant find it at shop oposite of the gelugor post-office (If not mistaken it is the shop tat u all are going to go, on tis SAT), n the price is RM70++ (Including a set of sprocket n chain)... Anyone noe where can i get 12 (front)??? Jimmy sry to tell u tat im m in pokkai condition lolz RM200 wont be enough for the CDI hahaha tis SAT i hv to attend the BOMBA KELAB activity also...

I have tried many sprocket settings, including 12-34. Besides, smaller sprockets increased the distance between the front and rear. A longer chain is needed, thus reduced in response. 15-42 will do almost like 12-34, but the good thing is that 15-42 can tahan longer before chain adjustment. 12-34 quite easy to loose.

Do you ever noticed, superbike has very big sprockets? perhaps superbike uses 30-84 instead of 15/42 to decrease powerloss due to long chain.

UncleCheang's chain mod also proven that, long chain will decrease acceleration.

i thought using EFI will reduce the FC, since the air-oil mixture become precise and accurate??

u want to borrow money from me arr?? i give u rm500, next month u payback to me rm1k... wub.gif laugh.gif
anyway, sprocket setting depends on the few things too such as weight of the rider, riding style, type of the road (windy pass/city road/hill road etc), wind etc. With everything stock u'll overcome sudden power dropped on the higher rpm band, even if u change to lower sprocket ratio, it will take longer time to achieve topspeed, which is not good if u always riding ur bike in city road. from my experience, with everything stock the topspeed wont be differ much even if u using high ratio sprocket setting... smile.gif

anyway, today i tried to follow this Nouvo Lc, damn fast and good acceleration. maybe caused by the 26mm carb used. But at topspeed, still manage to overtake him, but really this nouvo really fast la. how much the current market price arr??

@kinwei3250
for some reason i dunno why i dislike the design for this new suzuki, not like previous Fx125 which is a good looking bike. but for sure the engine performance damn nice., drool.gif

Nouva LC only got 2 valves, compared to our 4 valves. On top of that, the max torque and max power still lose to 135LC. The reason Nouva so fast is because if CVT. The engine revolution depends on the throttle position.

Let's say if the Nouva rider opens full throttle, the engine rpm will always at maximum power region. The gear shifting always happen at that particular region (actually there are no gear shifting, the CVT just automatically increased its ratio at, let's say 8500rpm, to accelerate).

Unlike ours, the 1st gear will go through 2000rpm --> 8500rpm. The power at 2000rpm is very different from 8500rpm even if we are at full throttle. That's what makes our bike slower.

I am interested in that 150cc engine. Probably will buy a engine block and piston, make my 135LC becomes 150LC, hahaha icon_rolleyes.gif

Nouvo LC indeed is a nice bike but its kinda big and furthermore the stability is a big big issue to me.... you can corner like mad n all the absorbers are really bad... i wanted to change em..but very unsure on the brand and pricing. Never tuned my carb before... i am using Nouvo LC very noob in bikes
