Ya how do u feel?? Does it cut down ur top speed??? I like to hv one but i hear ppl said it cut our top speed, and i juz put on the stupid carbon exhaust cover ( the round round one) cost me RM20++, somemore yesterday order pizza now pokai d.. How much u bought the pipe???
*
that top speed cut is a crap thingy. just now had tested my bike, can go 140km/h at 3/4 throttle. before this full throttle is hard to pass 130km/h.
pick up also good, accelerating from gear 3 felt like gear 2 only brows.gif

honestly, I really love the classic 'pom pom' sound,
but after a while you'll realised that it sound much like a stock EX5 laugh.gif

bought the exhaust from my friend, costs me rm130 sweat.gif
but I felt that it's worth my money buying the pipe biggrin.gif

QUOTE(charge-n-go @ Feb 22 2009, 12:27 AM)
anyway, from my experience, using NOB1 SSS increased overall low, mid range torque. high rpm power increased just a little, so top speed won't increase.
*
yeah, my foreman said that too. stock main jet just can't cope up with the pipe capability to channel out the air,
so he recommends me to change main jet and pilot jet, or the best is to use aftermarket bigger carb. smile.gif

Not necessary. The first thing we should do is remove the air filter first. Main jet has nothing to do with the capability to channel out the air smile.gif
Changing the mainjet alone will make our bike sluggish, bcoz the air-fuel mixture is changed. It is impossible to find pilot jet for stock carb, only is mainjet available.

Besides this, try not to use 28mm carb. According to some technical book, 125cc - 150cc engine should use the max of 26mm carb. Anything larger than 26mm will lose engine response when we pull the throttle too fast. It will have a momentary 'blurp', causing the engine to go super lean, and then a 'bang' sound. That bang sound will wear the engine pretty badly. I am pretty sad with 28mm carb now. From low to mid rpm only can half throttle, after 5000rpm only can go full. sad.gif

hahaha, yeah. I love the classic sound from the pipe and its great accel. It is good for daily ride bcoz all rpm oso increase power. Most pipe only increase the top rpm but sacrifice mid-low. Good for top speed, but bad for daily ride.

yeah, sure got difference. air filter-less is still the best, zero cost and best performance.
i've taken out my whole block and piston for inspection yesterday. The engine is still in good condition after 12,000km of ride without air filter. The valve is gone first, lol.

of course it does.
check out this website. they also manufactured air filter for lc135, FZ150i and Ninja250.. wub.gif

price rm84 + postage from indonesia rm40 = rm124

TK Racing valve, stiffer one. I also ported my cylinder head for smoother airflow into the valve. The engine is very smooth now, after hard throttle and suddenly let go the throttle, won't feel a sudden 'pull', the bike js slow down smoothly (even with 2nd gear).

I just got my bike back at 8.15pm today. Last Wednesday 11.30am until today, omg... tongue.gif

Yea, they earned a lot. Sepang is cheaper, RM140 - RM150 first hand. Another brand called ABM exhaust, low end slightly lose to NOB1 SSS, but high rpm win slightly, selling at RM110.

Added on February 24, 2009, 12:33 amShort Carburetor Review

The most important task for a carburetor is the get the correct air/fuel mixture into the intake manifold --> intake valve --> combustion chamber.

How to know a carburetor is good? A good carb can channel the air/fuel mixture very quickly into the intake manifold. A bad carb will channel the mixture slower.

How to distinguish if a carburetor is good?

Look at the intake mouth (the one connected to airbox).

It should look like a funnel, where the outer mouth is bigger than the inner diameter. The transition from outer mouth to the inner diameter must be smooth like a funnel.

If a carb has an edge, such as the outer mouth is big, and then suddenly changed small (without a smooth transition), that carb performance will decrease, because the air flow will be disturbed by a sudden step. This will cause engine response become slow when we open up the throttle.

For 28mm series carburetor, the common one are Mikuni, Keihin and Uma Racing. Only Keihin has smooth mouth, they called it Hyper Jet / Power Jet.

In order to ensure the theory I read from book is correct, I tried 3 of them. Keihin is really performing the best, it has smoother engine response and better high rpm power.

Both Uma Racing and Mikuni is a bit sluggish when revving up to max.

Stock Mikuni does not have a step (big outer mouth to smaller inner diameter), so it is smoother than many of the 28mm racing carb (except Keihin). The response is better than Keihin 28mm because of its small diameter (remember Bernoulli Theorem? Smaller hole allows gas to flow faster). Besides, it also has accelerator pump which supplies petrol in an instance when we full throttle.

The best carb that I found is Yoshimura 26mm carb with TPS and accelerator pump. The jet needle has holes that allow fuel to flow through it. This helps to atomize the fuel into smaller molecule and hence provide much better response. This mechanism is as good as direct fuel injection. Yoshimura carb design is based on Keihin series carburetor with PowerJet. It costs around RM1000, very expensive.

So, for ppl with tight budget, Keihin PowerJet is the best 28mm carb that I can find in market now. If you got some extra $, go for 26mm Yoshimura MJN carb, hehehe. Why 26mm? Because 28mm is sluggish due to big diameter, which is too much for 135cc engine. 26mm is the best match. Please note that, 135cc Nouva LC is using 26mm BS carb and it also has very smooth throttling.

That's all for this round, hope I can help those who plan to mod carburetor with my 2 cents here.
