They installed this on 19/12/20 and just last friday there was one tech doing some installation inside the cabinet.

Ya it is slow at BG, last week they were laying fiber cable at Taman Mewah Indah next to BG Transit meanwhile underground laying at near BG Perdana.

As for today no installation activity.
For BG Transit the only noticeable thing left is the main cable from their Server to the FDC.

I wanted to write up a tutorial on how a ODN is like and the different sections involved in it. How to roughly calculate return losses/insertion loss to compare with meter readings.

Would appreciate if there are any Allo users here who can help take some pictures of your house's backlane/lorong belakang which shows the total of FDP(fiber distribution boxes) available on each lane in total.

There've been requests by many requests by some forumers here who tried to apply for Unifi but was told that the ports in their areas have run out. They want to show that how come TNB Allo does not suffer from port shortages unlike TM who only place 1-2 FDPs on each lorong on purpose to limit very little ports available to them.

Just for example in Malacca:

As you can see a small lorong/backlane like that also can have upto 5 FDPs(marked with oranged colored square boxes) placed on every 4 homes side by side.

That alone is already 40 ports available for service!!


Appreciate if we can show them Ipoh's version of setup.

In my Taman front street, there are total six TNB Allo FDP.

While for unifi, only three is available behind my house.

Should be for Tmn Cemerlang Rapat,Ipoh as per the list share by @juzmafia earlier. Not sure Allo will cover Kg Gunung Rapat and Kg Baharu Gunung Rapat or not??

That's why some people want to query TM about this unprofessional ethics of using the excuses for not having enough ports all the time. They skimmed and probably eaten their own share internally when funds were allocated for expansions.

Instead of placing at least 5 FDPs on each lorong(back lanes/alley), they put 1-3 at most. So where got enough if demand is high all the houses there want to install a fixed line at home?

Please help to take pictures of your housing area's backlane for Allo deployments.

We must show this to TM and shame their half hearted efforts and sincerity in sharing their nationwide HSBB infrastructures with other ISP players.

Don't forget yeah once the FDPs are up on poles take pictures of them so that we can count and prove how ports availability is properly done to TM.

Not just place 1-3 FDPs only for each row of homes(over 30 units) and use the convenient excuse that ports are not enough, priority must be Unifi first only for early birds.We'll consider further expansion until it becomes stale.

TM is another shiet monopoly companies, where last time we don't have second choice but only can choose TM.

Complained for at least 8 years (since 2012) why no UniFi and when are coming, only replied we are sorry, currently we have no idea (no plan) when are coming to your area.

fast-forward to last year when Allo plan to expand into northern region aka Ipoh, wow!!! Their TM efficiency instantly sky-rocket even faster setup than Allo. Now call you and inform you congrats we are coming! (dam finally for freaking 8 years)

Yeah, This is why we need competition in this industry. TM straight away cover those neglected area by setting up FDP and FDC quickly where those area Allo are targeting.
Allo coverage are still very sporadic at the moment. They only cover certain portion of my Taman at the moment. But once ALLO arrive I will switch to it anyway.
TM just doesn't offer the upload speed I needed at the moment.

Yeah, I rather spend my hard earn money on Allo rather than TM. They gave me no reason to stay with them as loyalty customer, the another day they call me.

I say, I have been your Streamyx customer since 2006/2007, don't have special offer for me to upgrade to Unifi? They say dunno because no internal memo yet. I say ok kthxbai. call me when u have promo, because I gonna cut it when Allo available.
Why pay RM89 for 30mbps when Allo offer me RM79 RM69 for 50mbps?
or why pay RM129 for 100mbps when Allo offer RM99 RM89 for 100mbps?
