Issit that area just behind AEON Station 18 Mall? Noticed just a few rows of house only covered. Behind there the flats and school area all already Unifi covered. But if strangely, the old housing gardens further up the TM exchange office there(behind the corner lot 7 Eleven) many housing gardens such as Taman Pasir Puteh, Taman Rasa Sayang and Taman Shatin all still have very spotty Unifi coverage. They just put a FDP to in between few lorongs to serve a few lanes there. Some are still stuck with very old copper infra, why TNB Allo why not coveraing that area?

Candy12 not that area (i think u are talking about Tmn Pengkalan Perdana - MLBUA C03). The actual area (Tmn Metro Pengkalan) is located near Petronas BG Perdana.

I see, my mistake there. blush.gif

Was referring to Taman Pengkalan Perdana and those few rows of houses on Jalan Pengkalan Barat 25A/B/C. I noticed only like 3 rows of homes there nearby AEON Station 18 is covered by TM Allo.

Thanks for the detailed share. Many of the homes aorund that area still stuck with TM monopoly are also not covered by fibre yet. A quick drive through will reveal that behind at the alley all the telephone poles are still with copper connections. No FDP boxes at all.

TNB Allo's new Ookla speed test server.

speed.allo.technology

For those who are using City Broadband can use this server to test your line by pinging it to check your latency.
You can also test your speed by heading to Speedtest.net and select Allo Technology manually with their list of servers.

test with unifi 300mbps package, their speedtest ipv6 server ip is 2401:b780::1:a110 , route through 10gigabitethernet7-16.core1.hkg1.he.net [2001:470:1:769::1] and 100ge2-1.core1.sin1.he.net [2001:470:0:2ea::2] result in 53ms ping, less than 200mbps download speed, full 50mbps upload speed. their speedtest ipv4 server ip is 202.168.71.142 , route through allo-technology.myix.my [218.100.44.191] result in 7ms ping, full 300mbps download speed, full 50mbps upload speed.

dns record also show speed.allo.technology 2401:b780::1:a110 202.168.71.142 , but couldnt use both ipv6 and ipv4 ip to direct access their speedtest website.

ViewQwest might be joining TNB Allo Ipoh's network soon according to recent news.

Will they build their own standalone active infra network which uses their own OLT equipment and fibre modem(ONT) for deployment or they'll become a retail service provider using VLAN tagging on TNB Allo existing arrangement?

If they build their own network, it's going to be awesome. They don't utilize VLAN tagging for sharing with other RSPs, superb latency to Singapore with game servers prioritization, symmetrical speeds and the Freedom DNS which allows specific geolocation content to be accessed.

No ISP in Malaysia is any close to their innovation and plans. Not even Time.

Maybe, but still for symmetrical 100M? Sign me up!
I don't want to pay close to RM150 with SST for 100M/50M every month to TM/Maxis/Celcom/DiGi with inferior options.

They supply Asus branded routers to their customers with options to upgrade to better hardware.

Will ViewQwest be riding on TM infra too as it reported at soyacincau forum that "For areas outside of ViewQwest network, their broadband services are also available via TM’s HSBB network." (refer from https://www.soyacincau.com/2021/01/08/viewq...ro-lynx-ihalo/)?

Probably not because if they had intention to ride on TM infra they'd already announce nationwide rollout in all major cities since it covers the entire country, all they need is just enough demand to enable a particular TM exchange.

But Candy12, based to the report by soyacincau, Viewqwest have 2 broadband package, 1 on their own network and other on partner infra network. Maybe Viewqwest will overlap on both network in Ipoh area as not all area have Allo infra.

To take advantage of the extra added features such as fixed IP to all home users, FREEDOM DNS, symmetrical speeds, no VLAN tagging, no buffer bloat caps, DHCP authentication and 1Gbps, it is not possible that this conditions be deployed on the present TM HSBB network.

Moreover if they're jumping on TM HSBB, it would have already announced that major cities such as Penang, Alor Setar/Sg Petani, Kangar, Taiping, in the northern region be covered.

TNB has been tight lipped about their rollout in other part of Ipoh such as Ipoh Gardens etc. Many of the newer condos and apartments around that area are now under private open fibre arrangements such as the Upper East, Thompson, The Octagon, Majestic .

Here's a look at an example setup by XccessComm HSBB Sdn Bhd for the Upper East Condominium just off Tiger Lane. When they acquired Macro Lynx they had immediate access to such facilities.

Come to think of it, as mentioned in the news the finalization actually coincides with Allo's launch which is end of Q1 2021.

ViewQwest symmetrical plans seems to look very similar to that of City Broadband's range of packages.
Symmetrical 100Mbps, 500Mbps and 1Gbps.

Very possibly they're joining Allo's network as a partner RSP but still will be using VLAN tagging to separate traffic. They'd still enjoy better accessibility compared to the less competitive TM HSBB wholesale pricing arrangement and better speeds as well. Can sell symmetrical speeds upto 1Gbps with no buffer bloating with ONT profile speed caps.

It seem the Allo progress in Pusing/Batu Gajah very very slow. Today I went around to see, still NO sign of the service going online anytime soon.😴
