Just to share my experience for those interested:

On 13 June 2025, I completed the termination of the ALLO subscription (OKU package under my wife's name – 300Mb/s at RM69/month).

Then on 14 June 2025, I activated a new plan – 100Mb/s at RM49/month, which includes 6 months free.

The 6-month waiver was already reflected in my first bill today, as shown in the screenshot below.

For those whose contract has already ended and are fine with 100Mb/s speed, this is a no-brainer. Even the 1Gb/s package is a great deal at only RM139/month, with 6 months free.

Just a heads-up: this promo ends on 30 June 2025, so don’t wait too long if you're planning to switch.

Hope this helps anyone considering the change.

Just found out that ALLO has switched to using PPPoE for their connections.

This likely explains why my TP-Link Deco M4R stopped working after the free speed upgrade to the 300Mb/s plan, followed by the termination of that plan and the sign-up for the new 100Mb/s @ RM49 contract. Previously, I could connect the Deco M4R directly to the ONU and it would work without any additional configuration.

If you're experiencing a similar issue, it's likely due to the switch to PPPoE. You’ll need to enter the correct PPPoE credentials in your router’s settings—these are linked to your account and not included by default, so be sure to reach out to ALLO support if you don’t have them.

Lol. Why would I do that? IPOE is better than PPPOE biggrin.gif . Still using their Calix Fibre modem over here.

I still recall what the CS rep told me when I first requested for public IP:

Private IP users = Use PPPOE
Fixed Public IP users (RM 150 on time fee) = Use IPOE(In the router WAN setting, they told me to set WAN setting to Automatic IP)

Not sure if that has changed since then.

Can you try do a trace route / pingplotter to shopee.com.my?

Curious to know if there's any difference on Allo public and private IP when it comes to routing and latency

So far no overheating issues with their CALIX ONU since I switched over to Allo from TIME back in July 2023.

Actually I just subscribed to Allo, but the latency to Shopee is quite high almost 200ms, sweat.gif Not sure if it's because of the private IP.

Looking at your current ping result, it seems likely that the issue is related to the private IP. I'm not sure what causes it, but the latency between Allo public and private IPs can show such a significant discrepancy.

So far, it seems only Shopee and some Microsoft websites are affected, while the rest are fine and the latency is even better than my Unifi.

The Allo CS isn't very helpful either; they just said they made some adjustments, but the result is still the same lol.

Btw, I'm using Mikrotik router and tested with wired connection.

Maybe someone using Allo with a private IP could test if they're experiencing the same issue as me?

Strange. My place in Cyberjaya still using IPOE for their Public IP.
When I received a speed upgrade from 100Mb/s to 300Mb/s in January 2025, Allo provided a new router. After that, my Deco M4R stopped working.

The same thing happened again when I terminated the old account and registered a new one. Curious, I checked the settings on Allo’s router and found it was configured to use PPPoE.

That’s when I realized why the M4R wasn’t working. I called their support line to request the PPPoE credentials, entered them into the M4R settings—and just like that, it was up and running again.

But hey, since the internet is solely for my in-laws—who only use it for watching TV and WhatsApp video calls—no harm done.

Not sure why they switched from IPoE to PPPoE—it seems like a questionable move.
