Yes, I’ve spoken to their helpline, and they confirmed that this offer is only for new customers.
If your account is no longer under contract, you can simply terminate it and re-register to take advantage of the promotion.

I can only speak from the perspective of a standard user, as I installed ALLO at my in-laws' house mainly for streaming purposes. They use it for services like Netflix, Disney+, YouTube, RTMKlik, and Tonton, and it works well for that.
However, I’m not sure how ALLO performs when it comes to gaming.

I didn’t specifically ask whether the discount applies only to new customers or also to returning ones.
But hey, if it doesn’t, you could always sign up under your wife’s name! laugh.gif

Lol, right after my contract ended on 9th December. Glad I didn't sign up with their CELCOMDIGI counter offer.

Their 300Mbps deal is an excellent counter offer to TIME's package though.

Those prices are for new registrations only.

If you want to take advantage of the lower pricing, you’ll need to terminate your current line and register again.

Personally, I’d say it’s worth it—not only do you get the reduced price, but you’ll also receive new devices as part of the deal.

I’ll soon be paying RM69 for 300Mb/s, but the extra speed doesn’t really matter since my in-laws only use the internet for streaming. I’d definitely go for the RM49 for 100Mb/s if I hadn’t just renewed my contract in September 2024. ranting.gif

I upgraded my plan in June,
but the price is the same as this one.
So there is no need to switch to this package.

Based on your experience, how does Allo compare to Unifi? Are there any network stability issues like long downtime or bad routing?

I'm also under Allo coverage, so I'm thinking of switching to it as my Unifi contract has ended.

Sorry, I can’t give a detailed answer for your situation.
I installed ALLO broadband for my in-laws in Ipoh, and they mainly use it for streaming services like YouTube, Netflix, Disney+ Hotstar, etc.
As for reliability, they've only experienced one downtime in the past three years — so far, it’s been pretty stable for them.

You can check it yourself — just use the "Check Coverage" option on their website:

Just submitted a termination request for the 300Mb/s @ RM69 plan under my wife's name, and registered for the 100Mb/s @ RM49 plan (with 6 months free) under my own name.

Looking forward to the savings—it really adds up over time.

But if ALLO suddenly comes back with a better counter-offer, like 300Mb/s @ RM49 with 6 months free... I’ll cancel that termination in a heartbeat! devil.gif

Allo actually made the wrong move last time to expand in B40 areas where spending power is very little and targetted only certain poor segments of the market.

In Ipoh, their buildout mainly focused in areas such as Tg. Rambutan/Bercham, Lahat/Menglembu, Sg Rokam/Gunung Rapat, Batu Gajah areas.
Areas which Unifi refused to expand into previously because of poor demand.

You don't see them aggressively expanding anymore now.

That's is why they had to come out with very cheap plans such as Gelombang Ungu to get the attention of those within their coverage areas.

TIME on other hand went for the wealthier suburbs in Ipoh such as First Garden/partial Menglembu(previously Allo areas bought out), Canning Garden, and Ipoh Garden East/South areas.

Maxis concentrated in CBD areas such as Greentown Business Centre, Station 18 Commercial area, Tasek Industrial Park, Menglembu township.

Both TIME and Maxis NGBB networks are now among Malaysia's most advanced supporting 10G XGS-PON ready.

The only areas left untapped potential is Ipoh City centre and Jln. Pasir Putih which is only left with old TM infra without alternatives.

Hopefully next year the government will approve a new infra sharing plan to allow other operators to set up their cables and run them on existing TM poles for their own fibre infra.
