200 ringgit for a Tecware Phantom (non-elite) from Shopee. Hotswap but you are limited to Outemu switches.

300 ringgit for 11x10 Gazzew Boba U4T switches from Pantheon Keys.

Badass 500 ringgit entry level combo that I wish existed and knew about when I started the hobby. Only thing I personally don't like is the low profile design of the case (visible switches).

Care to tell more about the 500 one? I was thinking of building it from scratch. Also is iron solder like Pro'skit good enough?

200+300=500 smile.gif

There are no easily available full size custom kits. You can try to hunt for a TX108SE or Hex6C in the aftermarket.

seems like Dotatech has a magnetic cover for the Tecware Phantom to hide the switches -

if you are only looking for mkb with the numpad area can try to search for 96/98 key layout like the Leopold FC980M. There are also a lot of custom kit from Taobao like this one that cat_food_lover just bought

Working on site in the office today. My setup.
Attached Image

Took me a few days to get used to the split. Now I'm getting 80+ on monkeytype which is normal for me.

another up-coming hi-pro set from melgeek, called mg salmon. https://www.melgeek.com/collections/group-b...set-melgeek-com

i guess not many know this: their mda profile caps have a good characteristic: the modifier and space bar key caps are able to grab stabilizer stems securely. this helps reduce some stabilizer issues, like see-saw effects, and provides good up-down key movements.

here's a quick note on the current trends of custom springs.

to get everyone on the same page, my references on force curves are based on the one at sprit designs, https://www.spritdesigns.com/mx. currently, we have 5 main types of custom springs: linear rated, progressive, complex, long/slow curved, and multistage (M0/1/2; there are differences between these variants, check the graphs to find out).

as of this writing, multistage and progressive springs are the focus of the expansion of choices in custom springs. manufacturers also started to use springs other than the usual linear rated ones. currently, there are 2-stage (gateron silver pro; giant v4), and 3-stage (jwick queen). in general, besides typical characteristics of long/slow curved springs, multistage springs have another characteristic: there are at least 2 force curves during key travel. from the graphs, the force curve changes near actuation point.

in terms of progressive springs, one unique custom spring is the combination of long and progressive, made by lumia, https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=648273243443 . this one is unique because it's long, and it's progressive; also, more coils are present at both ends, not at the usual one side.

CX60 (CX60-VIA) unofficial QMK source code; code cleanup by myself. tested the code for a while; so far so good.

disclaimers: this qmk source code is unofficial, without proper tests and verifications. hence, use everything in the share at your own risks.

Hi all;

Recently during housekeeping found these 2 keyboards.

One is printed as JIOR T1000, another is 6511-TW as shown below.
Is both of these considered as Mech Keyboard?

The original coiled wiring still there albeit separated from the keyboard for JIORT1000. Is it still salvageable?

The JIOR T1000 looks like using ALPS switches (but can't confirm since the photo isn't clear enough), while the 6511-TW looks like a membrane keyboard.

This is likely what your T1000 is Rin-Teck RT-1000

What is the best wireless keyboard on the market? I've seen Anne Pro 2 or Keychron. Any other that I can buy from a local seller?

i have successfully ported CX60 to support Vial, https://get.vial.today/

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

the main problem for now is that i can only compile Vial-enabled firmware in Linux; still no luck with msys2.
