why dont u just use share folder?.. http://ubuntuguide.org/wiki/Ubuntu:Feisty#...rs_the_easy_way samba to be specific.. after that in windows just open the xplorer and type "\\your_ubuntu_ip".. depends on how you define the authentication an samba you should be able to get the same result as windows shared folder.. another alternative is use web server and point your download directory as web server root directory.. another one use winscp.. http://winscp.net/eng/index.php but u need to install ssh server first.. http://ubuntuguide.org/wiki/Ubuntu:Feisty#...tration_service |

QUOTE(slash @ Sep 16 2007, 06:42 PM) how come the torrents keep pausing/downloading/pausing/downloading? This is a bug when you save a torrent that comes with a folder. Use any windows torrent program and pre-allocate it on your shared folder before you use ubuntu torrent programs.EDIT: not sure why this is happening. enabled shared folders in VMmanager. able to create and download a torrent, saving it outside of the virtual environment. but the 2nd torrent wasnt able to allocate the file, and the torrent keeps pausing/downloading/pausing. when i changed the save location to ubuntu desktop, this fixed the problem. Deluge for windows is more stable now and it runs at full speed. Try it to see if the stability is good enough for you or not. This post has been edited by TristanX: Sep 17 2007, 12:55 PM |

Deluge homepage... Or to be exact, a link in there
www.deluge-torrent.org Works like a charm and doesn't affect my surfing speed like what some users are experiencing, but I'm using a traffic shaping software so I guess that's probably why |

QUOTE(Irishcoffee @ Sep 17 2007, 12:40 AM) easiest way is to share a folder in winxp that allows u to read & write files. then from ubuntu view the shared folder, cut n paste.if u want to view the shared folder in ubuntu from winxp, then follow the instructions here.. More specifically, the second part, which talks about samba gui. Install it, go to http://localhost:901, edit the .conf, save, then right click share the folder. |

Awesome yeah, i agree. but i think it is not so good on private tracker. would anyone confirm this? deluge for windows has a lot of bugs (at least for me) I cant view peer list. when i click the peers tab when i'm in the middle of download/upload the deluge will exit and some error message popup. "illegal operation bla bla bla" if the torrent have multiple tracker, it only take the 1st one only. |

I've been experiencing slightly slower surfing speeds than normal, i'm wondering if it has anything to do with my settings or is TMNet just slow these days. |

I don't have any problems viewing peer list while downloading or uploading, but I do have the tracker bug. It only uses the first tracker listed but I don't really care as speed still fly QUOTE(prancingHORSE @ Sep 17 2007, 09:21 PM) Traffic shaping software? I'm using the paid version of cFosSpeed, the trial version is available for download which allows 30 days of usage I think. Fully configurable protocol priorities, can be based on programs as well... No slowdown while surfing even though I'm downloading or uploading via BT/FTP. But it does have some slight issues with the free SecureIX VPN, enable traffic shaping with SecureIX and you'll kill all connections Mind explaining how does it work, and precisely which software you use?
