VMworkstation really beat the purpose of having full speed torrent for free. Except if you use the *ehem* version...

But anyway thx to TC for introducing Ubuntu to me. Never fond of linux or distro before, but i was planning to format my pc, and thought to give it a try. Make dual boot for windows and Ubuntu. And let me tell you, i still havent boot my window yet.

Right now i am compiz fussion addict..and oh..Torrent work Great!!!
Thx again

Deluge (using Ubuntu with VMware workstation on windows) gets bugged with pause spam if you try to save files with folders on /mnt/hgfs (vmware shared folders). I found a solution on this by using uTorrent to preallocate the files/folders on a shared folder before running Deluge and save it on the same place.

I totally agree with you. Both Compiz-fusion and Deluge rox! My download hit 160 KB/s last nite where previously in winblows I get less then 20 KB/s.

Here's wishing for things to remain this way rclxm9.gif

VMware just provide a platform for virtualization and it just that how are you going to use it and utilize the technology part of it.

It does not really beat the purpose of having full speed torrent for free, just that it does help to run deluge on ubuntu, since deluge only runs on linux.

Just that the way to get to the destination is different route.

Well, the idea behind this topic is that we got the full speed for free, by not paying for the VPN services or any other way. I understand that vmware player is free, but workstation is not. So thats why i say it beat the purpose.

I also find wubi is also a good choice to try Ubuntu, but still you have to reboot before alternating the os, which really the same as grub anyway.

Funny thing is, i first planned to use ubuntu just to download torrent, but after discover compiz....window look very primitive indeed . For anyone who do not know compiz..link below show some video preview...

Fusion Demo

Well actually this is for Beryl, but have merged with compiz to become compiz fusion.

Well, if you are running Windows Platform, you can easily done this by installing Linux Operating System in VMWARE WORKSTATION 6.

Got deluge installed, NAT working, etc. On startup, everything looks good - DL speeds are good, but after about 5 minutes, DL rates dropped pretty drastically. Happens every time. Any ideas? I have encryption at stream-level for uploads and downloads, but am starting to wonder whether TMnuts has started to act on this.

try use ktorrent.. some people get better result with ktorrent. N try port forward the port instead using nat option in deluge or ktorrent, sumtime it works better that way..
