for those using vmware workstation, easier way to transfer files is to install vmware tools inside the guest os
at settings for guest os, at the options tab, enable shared folder after the guest os has finished loading, go to VM menu->install vmware tools after you have ran it, do sudo vmware-config-tools.pl the shared folder between host and guest os can now be accessed from /mnt/hgfs/<shared folder name> This post has been edited by trix: Aug 16 2007, 04:46 AM |

i've tried this using the VMWare method and i must say it really works. able to dl at 100++ kbps now.
i got 1 question though.. since all the dls goes to my virtual drive, how do i transfer it out to my actual hard disk? i tried using samba but to no avail..i was able to detect all the other machines on my network except the one i was running the VMWare from ?? |

QUOTE(tyssxp @ Aug 15 2007, 10:00 AM) Just want to ask if i want to download ssh for Ubuntu Feisty 7.04 what's the command to be used in the terminal. I can't seem to find the ssh from the Internet. The closest I got is sudo apt-get install openssh which then prompt me for the Ubuntu CD. Currently I'm using Ubuntu VMWare and would like to transfer file from Ubuntu to my Vista thru WinSCP. QUOTE(tyssxp @ Aug 15 2007, 06:33 PM) Haha. Seems like I checked the option to get source from CD within the synaptic package manager. Now can use WinSCP already. Thanks ya. Anyway, I'm using VMWare. Oh, anybody has a module for deluge for slax? i cant find a deluge package for slax you have to compile it yourself. FUN! browse to where you have uncompressed the tarball. then: CODE sudo ./compile sudo make sudo make install im pretty sure slax has a sudo command. if it doesnt just run the "su" command and put in your root password. |
