The easier way is go to vmware site and download vmware-ready-to-run ubuntu and download vmware player to run that. It will probably take less than 5 minutes to run ubuntu on the windows vmware host.

Another way of promoting linux os, lol. But seriously, looks like a nice solution to screamyx throttling eh? However, I'm still curious why such program would be so effective on linux os compared to windows os...

Strange. Coz Ktorrent is using the same encryption algorithm as the big 3. Same for Deluge torrent. As of now, that's the only different thing between clients that I notice. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BitTorrent_protocol_encryption http://www.azureuswiki.com/index.php/Messa...ream_Encryption Edit: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This post has been edited by precursor80: Aug 13 2007, 07:08 PM |

QUOTE(Ginryu @ Aug 13 2007, 06:34 PM) anyone know how to transfer files from Linux to Windows when I downloaded it in VMware? Install Samba and share a folder. Sharing tips as the link below. It's kinda troublesome to use my portable HD to copy from Linux and to put it in Windows. Btw, if you want to mount the windows shares. DO NOT MOUNT AS SMBFS. Mount as CIFS instead. http://ubuntuguide.org/wiki/Ubuntu:Feisty#...twork_computers http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=3147955 |

I haven't been using my Vista since the last 3-4 days and now fiddling around with Ubuntu 7.04.
My main usage would probably to torrent with Deluge (which works perfectly well for me). Burning DVDs would be another use and other minor things. Could anyone give comments on whether I should just get rid of Vista and just put Ubuntu on my PC? I'm still really undecided... |

QUOTE(d(@@)b @ Aug 13 2007, 11:38 PM) Go to this site http://www.slax.org/download.php n download any slax version u want. I use the kill bill one. After that download modules from here http://www.slax.org/modules.php, Search for ktorrent module n firefox module. After that read this http://www.slax.org/doc_customize.php#modifyiso coz u need to modify the iso to add the module. Then burn iso to cd n boot ur pc with cd now... u done. There's a bunch of live cd out there, but this is the easiest for beginner since u only need to download module to add new program..so good luck.
