For those who top-up RM30 a week ago, u still can enjoy 36sen/min (18sen/30sec) until 30days. Thereafter sys will revert back to 39sen/min unless u top up RM30 again. Remember, condition is as long as u top up min RM30 to enjoy lower call rate

When there're quite number plans, people are complaining that it's confusing.

When there're only single plan, people are also complaining that there's limited of choices.

What do they want actually? sweat.gif

If no mistake is 1sen & 5sen for active5 & on net sms...this plan was the lowest sms rate on that time...Looking at current Hotlink Plan, it overwrites all the previous plan by giving cheap cheap rate to customer.

I still think something fishy here....
The hotlink plan din state the rate for Voice Call to diff areas
What if East M'sia call to West M'sia ??

Last time with Talk Plan, it's one country one rate.... then Total Plan they charge RM1.20 for diff area -.-"

So anyone can help to verify this???

Maxis to any network - 36sen/min (Top up RM30)*

Hotlink plan is in one flat rate to any call in Malaysia regardless of service provider....

Added on July 25, 2007, 10:20 amYup, sms rate call charge is RM.50 and RM.60(to other network). I now change to new Hotlink plan which seems more interesting compare to sms plan. biggrin.gif rclxms.gif

If you sms alot to maxis ppl, then it will save in long run...otherwise, call charges (sms plan) is very exp compared to Hotlink Plan

Question:
Currently I am on Sabah/Sarawak Plan. Do I enjoy the 38sen/min flat rate

Answer:
Sabah/Sarawak Plan enjoys better rate, i.e. 35sen/min to ALL networks.

Question:
Currently I am on Sabah/Sarawak Plan and have top-up RM30 on 2nd July. I flew into Peninsular Malaysia and made a call from Peninsular Malaysia on 10th July. Am I enjoying the 38sen/min flat rate?

Answer:
Yes. Hotlink lets you enjoy the best rate at all time. If you are on Sabah/Sarawak Plan and top-up RM30 or more, you will enjoy 35sen/min if your call originates from Sabah/Sarawak and 38sen/min if your call originates from Peninsular Malaysia (within 30 days of your RM30 or more top-up date).

I think u r frustrated bcoz Hotlink did not show out call charges for all plan that they have...Well, probably this is the marketing strategy where Hotlink wants full focus from customers on thier Hotlink Plan rather than comparison between their own plan....

To check what hotlink plan u are using:-

Call *100# > 1.Account Information > 3.Prepaid Plan Query

i just changed from talk plan to Sabah/Sarawak Plan 5 min ago.

Call *108*3# to change to Sabah/Sarawak Plan. I'm at kuching.

dunno what will happen if other state's hotlink user call *108*3#. Try at your own risk sweat.gif

Has anyone of you (Sabah/Sarawak) tried this new package - East Malaysia Postpaid Plan RM50

This is exactly same like P75 but its lower down the monthly commitment fee to RM50. Good for prepaid user if monthly spend about RM40-RM60.

wana ask..
currently my whole family is using hotlink. 4 ppl included i myself.
so to remain activate the account,we each month also need to reload at least RM30.
but my family doesn't really used up to RM120 per month, just sometimes may over a bit.
so do u guy think that my family should change to postpaid plan?
coz currently i'm away from my family for study, so when my mom call me, it use up lots of money.
can someone count for me the amount i should pay if my whole family use the postpaid, as my father is the main line, then another 3 use the family plan.
thx so much.

Added on July 26, 2007, 4:27 pmand 1 thing...my fixed phone line at home used up around RM80 per month for PHONE CALL only..rental for line is excluded...
so should i change?

Can consider this Maxis Family Plus Plan
First, one of you got to subscribe the P package where the lowest is Package 75 . The rest of 3 can register as a family line with RM50/mth
Benefit:
1) Each of you will get FREE 20hours = 1200mins voice & video call within family members in Malaysia.
2) Each of you will get FREE 2000 SMS send within family members in Malaysia
3) Usage sharing between family members.

Note:
1) After you finish item 1 & 2, you will be charged normal call rate (15sen/20sen) & sms rate (5sen/15sen)
2) The above FREE airtime & sms is part of your RM75 & RM50 commitment fees. All your calls within family members will offset against the above FREE airtime & sms.

Since your line is prepaid, it has to convert into postpaid line & existing postpaid a/c has to settle all outstanding balance before can change to new rate plan.

This plan would be ideal if monthly bill/spending not more than RM225 (RM75 + RM50*3) & more important is credit sharing among ur members.

just to let you guys know that maxis call forwarding is provided FOC for those who activated their 3G.

I called up maxis and they told me call forwarding is necessary for 3G video calls because the unanswered 3G video calls will be directed to a 3G mail server , to be retrieved by the person later.

btw, how many of you actually use

1. call waiting
2. call forwarding
3. voicemail services?

i only find call waiting useful.

you are welcome. i tried it both on my postpaid and hotlink account.

postpaid - charged me RM3 for call forwarding (that was the reason i called them to ask why they charged me for service i never subsribe one) and rebated RM3 at the end of each bill.

prepaid hotlink - activated my 3g also, and so far my call forwarding works! and no credit deducted.

so this is the trick. for those with 3g phones, just activate your 3G - FOC , and you will get Call forwarding services FOC too!

you mean you paid for your call forwarding long time ago BEFORE you activated 3G?

in this case, i dont know, but what i do know is if you have NOT subscribed to call forwarding prior to this, and you decide to activate 3G now, call forwarding will be provided FOC for you.

someone please confirm my findings, (especially those with active 3G , check your call forwarding to see if it's active)

Mine will display this "You will not be charged to move to 2(Hotlink Plan). Please press to confirm." That's all nothing else. No matter what I've put in it.....it will give me back "Your switch is unsuccessful. Please try again."

Finally my 3G sim problem solved. It was the simcard version faulty. Those who are intending to upgrade to 3G sim, don't do it now. Their current version that end with SA (at the back of the sim) is a incompatible one, always sending message.

Currently Maxis KLCC only have the SA version. Haih

Yes, I got back 64k sim (luck) coz earlier when I called them, they said that only 16k sim will be given. I got my Rm25 but they credited it into my prepaid. Only not happy with the prepaid expiry date - only extended 1 week more than actual one sad.gif

As far as i know, Sabah/Sarawak Plan has cheapest call rate of all Hotlink prepaid plan RM0.35 and maybe also the best Hotlink prepaid. Correct me if i'm wrong.

Call - RM0.35 to all network(all operators and local, adjacent and non adjacent) - no condition like minimum reload RM30

SMS - RM0.07 (Maxis)/RM0.15 (other operators)

Activ5 Call - RM0.15 (Peak/off peak)
Activ5 SMS - RM0.01

*referred from Hotlink brochure i get during Kuching 3G road show

From Hotlink FAQ:-

If you are on Sabah/Sarawak Plan and top-up RM30 or more, you will enjoy 35sen/min if your call originates from Sabah/Sarawak and 38sen/min if your call originates from Peninsular Malaysia (within 30 days of your RM30 or more top-up date).

ive been using the talk plan b4 dis..
now got new rates, do i automatically change to dis plan?
can i not change?
i calculated n ill waste more money as.. i always make a 1hr phone call to my activ5 during off peak b4 dis (=10cent per min) which will equall to RM6

d new plan shows 15cents per min offpeak+peak..meaning, ill b charged = RM9 for a 1 hr call

can i not change?

It's a one-way ticket. Once converted, there's no way you can go back to your previous plan. So, think properly before you switch.

For those who wished to stay on the old plans, you can still do so. Only new sim packs with EASY plan will be automatically converted.

15cents/SMS to other networks
7 cents/SMS to Maxis numbers
1 cents/SMS to Activ5 numbers or while you're in Hotlink Zone

This is the complete rates for Hotlink plan:

That's only for 3G sim (prepaid) sweat.gif
Different sim got different serial number.
Currently the 3G sim (prepaid) ending with the S A (serial no.) is incompatible. Those who just upgraded their 3G sim (prepaid) 1-2 months ago must check if their credit got deducted each time they off & on/restart their phone

Nop, when there is some problem with your simcard, they will ask whether our sim serial no ends with what. So it's important actually, especially when your simcard got problem.

in this case, i dont  know, but what i do know is if you have NOT subscribed to call forwarding prior to this, and you decide to activate 3G now, call forwarding will be provided FOC for you.

someone please confirm my findings, (especially those with active 3G , check your call forwarding to see if it's active)

They are target those cust who can easily spend more than >RM1K/mth & MOC Select & Elite customer base.

Not all will get RM1 for 1K SMS. It's selected cust on their sms usage pattern and other selection criteria as well....

Not at this moment....coz telco did not stored ur IMEI..sim card yes...telco can trace...coz whenever the sim card is on wif phone, immediately it will hook up to nearest bts station. But how stupid will the thief to use back ur sim to make call le? First thing first take out ur sim card & insert a new sim...

i think is not the billing date wrong but ur credit limit, if ur credit limit is 300, at 80% usage u will be prompt about usage 80%...mine is 600, so , no problem at all even when i exceed 300 within 3weeks after payment made...

Wow.... shocking.gif Great plan! I think its time I went Postpaid. RM50 is just around my usual prepaid usage.

Anyone can advice... would it be better to go direct to a Maxis centre or would it be better to go jalan-jalan in Mid Valley or somewhere and wait for some Maxis lenglui to approach you? brows.gif drool.gif Got free gifts sometimes.....

If u want to change from Hotlink to Value Plan without changing number, suggest u go maxis centre to convert it from prepaid to postpaid. Otherwise, any registration channel would be able to register .

Currently Maxis 3G is available in Penang, Langkawi, Alor Setar, Kuantan, Genting, Klang Valley, Johor Bahru, Kota Kinabalu, and Kuching. Maybe they just upgrade certain sites into 3G that's y you would be able to get 3G signal. Bear in mind, speed may not be stable & sometimes might just went off...So prepared as a trial stage.

The FAQ link is next to it but when you click on it. The FAQ page lists all your doubts about Hotlink and not just on Super Savers.

luckily i call them first la...
after i know this...
i scold them that they trying to scam...
and the person seems behave calm..
maybe always get scolded gua...

well, i has been a maxis user for more than 3 years and my experience is just a word DISHONEST!
Yea, maxis is dishonest and attempt to con you wherever they could...
i was thinking to switch to DiGi, but i have 7 caller ringtones currently, it's such a waste to dump this number...
Haiz...

The latest thing about Maxis that make me angry is:
Usually i topup RM10 every week and still left about RM2-3 on the end of the week as i am using iTalk mostly because maxis is dishonest, i really scare of them....But on 1st of August, i top up RM30, for the 36sen/min low flat rate lo...
Guess what? on the 2nd august, my account still left RM15.37 only...
WTF....

No doubt they have 1st clas marketing strategy , if not they won't have that many customers ...
So you think everyone in Malaysia is gonna check out the FAQs ? Indeed i hv read the FAQ earlier , it's juz misleading . Isn't it their job to state things clearly for us customers ? I will blame myself for 30% but 70% for the *&&#&$^%#$$# Maxis !!!

Misleading ads is very common. That's why don't trust the ads thoroughly. As a smart consumer, you should do all the diggings before commit to a purchase. Celcom to Celcom is the first part.

U mean Value Plan 50 rite? Every month a commitment fee is RM50 which will become ur talk time (inclusive of sms, mms, video call & data charge). Every min is RM0.15 (maxis-maxis) & RM0.20 (maxis-other operators). IF ur usage a month >RM50, u will pay accordingly as per charge unless <RM50, u will have to pay RM50 & no roll over credit to next mth.

What you want to know? I'm assuming that you're referring to Campus Zone or better known as Hotlink Zone now.

1. You need to register for it.
2. Only selected campus are available.
3. The rate should be same as Activ5 rate but when you're in the zone, it's extended to all Maxis/Hotlink numbers instead of 5 in Activ5.
4. Call rate should be 15cents/min (charge according to 30-sec blocks) and SMS rate should be 1cent/SMS.

hahaha...I think now no such thing with existing plan can enjoy Hotlink Plan call rate. Refer to Hotlink Website for more call charges.
P/S: Only Easy Plan user will switch automatically by system to Hotlink Plan.

As long as you get a sms from Maxis informing you about the 36 cents per min to all network promotion that means you're qualied for this promotion. I received their sms a few mins later after I've reloaded my phone today. Lets hope it will drop to 20 cents per min to all network in the future. brows.gif

Just confirm with customer svc...Normally without any sms promo or invitation, non Hotlink Plan user can't enjoy 36/min even u top up RM30.
Just do a quick check what plan r u in.

Coz I think system oledi configured only Hotlink Plan can enjoy 36sen/min. They can't just simply let non-Hotlink Plan user to enjoy same rate which will create a mess in billing system. Sms invitation is some sort like u accept the rate plan chg by replying the sms... Just my thought....hehe

I really don't understand how can people subscribe when the details in the ads are not sufficient. I personally didn't understand at all when Maxis did this ads in newspaper. I searched further in the net (their website) & then only I got a clear pic of their T&C sweat.gif

I really don't understand how can people subscribe when the details in the ads are not sufficient. I personally didn't understand at all when Maxis did this ads in newspaper. I searched further in the net (their website) & then only I got a clear pic of their T&C  sweat.gif

Ur phone by right is compatible with video streaming. Try select N6290 for streaming setting but whether its suit very much on phone dependent. Otherwise, call 123 for manual setting.

Since ur supp line in total about 60-70, advisable u choose VP50. Reason ur supp line call charges is 30sen/15sen. Average u could save about 20% of ur overall call charges. End up total bill about RM50. Most important u dun need to pay for RM10 access fee.

Yeah, by right they should. But Maxis is not going to introduce something that benefits it's customers unless its competitor start it 1st.

OK guys. I am going to explain my situation after went back from Leisure Mall Maxis Centre.

Firstly, i wanna switch my supp line under my fren as the parent acc to VP50 and i even called to 123 to ask for details. Then the CS(123) advised me to bring along my fren for verification and settle my case. Sadly my friend not likely to turn up with me but to provide me his Identity Card. It's his IC.

Therefore, i bring along his IC and go to the nearest branch. Guess what? I show my friend's IC to her but she doesn't recognize it while request for a authorization letter and his signature on it to proceed due to i going to transfer the ownership of the supp line to my personal account of VP50.

What the heck with these much of process needed after even i show the IC and she told : Nowadays, you can carry anyone's IC on it.

So, remember guys, bring along the authorization letter and his photocopy of IC before heading there and waste your time in case you're facing the situation just like me.

Haha.

During I driving, I heard Digi advertisement. This Hotlink user complaining that the rate is so confusing. And he ask why outstation call is RM1.20, the CS say it is because it is old plan. That the customer got pissed off saying why can't Hotlink just make it all into 1 same plan and rate just like Digi.

But the ending is end of close of the conversation. Digi didn't go on promoting saying they are 1 rate blah blah blah.

Ya..the CS in maxis centre is doin the right job according to process. You should ask the CS(123) is there any alternative way other than ur fren come along with you. Authorization letter together with owner IC are needed for transfer ownership. Reason being is so simple to prevent any unauthorized ppl to misuse the owner IC.

I plan to change my prepaid to postpaid soon. Main line is my sister, and mine is supplementary line. My sister use Maxis Plan 75. Before that, I have some questions that I want to know.

1) I have a balance of RM 30+ in my prepaid line... can I convert this amount to postpaid?

2) Can I use back my prepaid phone no. for postpaid line?

3) I heard there are Call Plan and SMS plan in Supplementary line. But I checked on maxis.com.my, I could not find any about these. Is it still exist?

4) Is it I need to pay some deposit in order to change to supplementary line? How much is it?

5) I checked at maxis.com.my, and saw a Connection Fee for Supplementary Line. What is Connection Fee?

1) Yes. Ur balance can convert to postpaid a/c.

2) Yes. Walk in to maxis centre to convert ur prepaid to postpaid line. Number remains the same.

3) No more selling it. What u can see in maxis website is what they are selling now. (Maxis Value Plan, Family Plus Plan, Standard Plan, Supp Line & East Malaysia Plan)

4) No deposit.

5) Meaning upon register a new line, maxis will charged RM25 x 2 as connection fee. But currently is waived.

Anyone use Hotlink/Maxis Stock Live (Real time monitoring).

Subscribe the stock live features to monitor share market daily. Need some advise

Whether is it advisable to use the unlimited data packages or the prepaid charges (Normal GPRS charges apply (1.5sen/kb).?

Would like to know How much data is being downloaded (using the stock live real time monitoring) per day or Charges perday if use prepaid no from 9-5pm daily from Monday- friday for 1 month?

Need Comparison between prepaid and postpaid for this Stock live usage daily. Occaionally download every sec?

How good is the features?
Unlimited packages cost Rm120 starting 15 Sept and monthly subscription for stock live is Rm20. total Rm140 per month ++ for using the real time stock live service, is it advisable to use the service when u are on the move daily?

Is a old service where currently maxis not promoting it. But u still can find the info from their website
Better u monitor per session u how many kb used, then only can decide whether is cheaper to use unlimited package or pay per use.

LOL, I think Maxis CCS has been bombarded by a lot of angry customers. Unlike previous advertisements where only the time is mentioned, today's ad in The Star states very clearly:

. Maxis to Maxis only . SMS valid from 1am-7pm of day purchased

This is what Maxis should have done in the first place. Blood-sucking mofos!

Indeed it's a trick but you no need to top up up to RM 30/60/100 since that amount of topup will still give the same amount of FREE airtime. Just topup RM10 is more than enough in order to enjoy the freebie.

No need, from any plan(Talk, sms and Total) just reload 1 pc of Rm30 denomination and wait for 2Hours then you will receive 1 sms stated you will enjoy 36sen /min call to any where in My for 30 days. After 30 days it will go back to your original rates.

ya..i heard that too...top up RM30 will enjoy 36sen/min without changing rate plan... hmm.gif
if that is the case think their website should chg the info coz currently it said only way to enjoy 36sen/min is to change to hotlink plan.

I also nearly get cheated wanna change to this HL plan from sms plan, luckily i read someone said in mobile88 forum other plan can enjoy this 36sen thing. If change to HL plan,it's a 1 way street, can't change back to sms plan. I seldom make call only sms.

In conclusion, the main difference between Total plan and the Hotlink plan is just the adjacent thing rite? they just removed that and called it hotlink plan?

Yes. Flat rate versus adjacent/non-adjacent thing. Instant low rate of 36cents/min to any network upon regarding RM 30 and 39cents/min to any Maxis numbers.

Maybe is IDD SuperSaver, ie 20% bonus talk time for calling to Indonesia. This would exactly target to migrant workers.

& they should at least start counting from the moment we subscribe, not at 1am where most of them will be sleeping.

So actual fact is it's only valid for 12 hrs (assuming you only start messaging at 7am. Before that you have to SLEEP!)

really think that would be so easy to hack into telco billing system? unless staff itself sabotage by purposely.
They are just performing system upgrade where certain period really unavoidable to have this kind of delay & error message send to customer whenever user perform any changes in the system.

Try VP50 first, if use more than RM80/mth, then only upgrade to VP80. else wasting money where unused credit cannot roll over to next mth.

Using N73. But not 3G sim card, normal sim card
*
For GPRS, use the first 2.

I detected maxis 3G signal at ipoh already but cannot access their network.

No sms delays on my side yesterday or the day before.
Anyone using the new Postpaid plan? I'm using the old plans, thinking of switching to new plan.
Any hidden clause that I need to take note of? Or just the same as before, but with 20hr extra calls to sublines?

LOL, I think Maxis CCS has been bombarded by a lot of angry customers. Unlike previous advertisements where only the time is mentioned, today's ad in The Star states very clearly:

. Maxis to Maxis only . SMS valid from 1am-7pm of day purchased

This is what Maxis should have done in the first place. Blood-sucking mofos!

What is the different?

All will come in a bill, and the maiin line will just pay it.

If you really want to be specific, the answer is no. There will be a sub column for the sub line, it will show all the bill detail

Consider family plus plan is a supp line @ RM50.
I think u r confuse with the shared talk time concept. Is shared between the FREE 20 hours call time & 2000 sms each between both of u instead of RM200 credit talk time. Which mean both of u can shared in total FREE 40 hours calls & 4000 SMS.

nope, the RM200 talk time credit is also shared. u can notice that when they only deduct the amount available after sum up all the charge made by a line.

it seems u r the only one answer direct to my question ...

so u mean if i take up V150 n add family line, even if the family line use only rm10 and i can use rm190 of credit ? not like i can only use rm150 credit , exceed hav to pay extra, n rm50 for family line still hav to pay ? laugh.gif

But of course, they probably hope people don't call and change as long as necessary since they stand to gain more, right?

Hi,

Forgive me for not going through all 20 pages in this thread, but since you guys are all fans of Maxis, I'd like to get some personal opinions regarding this Telco.

1. Why did you choose this network?

2. Which were the plans/services/packages which attracted you? Why? (eg. Maxis -50)

3. Do you think this telco is value for money?

4. What do you NOT like about this Telco?

5. Suggest improvements to question 4.

Thanx alot ya.
This is part of my research for my academic paper, I hope to get as many replies as possible by this Wedneday.

Thank you so much.

1. Maxis brand mah...everyone uses Maxis so Maxis to Maxis call is cheaper, si win-win situation.

2. V80. I'm loving it as I have more minutes right now compared to P75.

3. If the MNP is in effect, I have a very high chance to move to Digi 1Plan since I called as many fixed line number as Maxis numbers. Digi still seems to be the better deal.

4. Not that I can think off.

Voice call under Postpaid Value plan 50/80/150 is 15sen/min voice call while Hotlink is around 39sen/min

maxis 3G video call rate is easy to remember.

to maxis number = same as normal call rate (if VP80 , it will be 12 sen/min)

to celcom = 2 times the rate of voice call to celcom

(eg, in VP80, call rate to celcom is 15 sen/min, so video call will be 2 x 15 = 30sen/min)

Not calculated in that way as in double of the call charges. In fact in VP80, video call is 40sen.
Refer to 3G Video Call Charges

just got a sms from maxis that suggest me to buy 400sms for 2rm only and legal from 1am-7pm. and sht, i bought it without knowing its only valid for maximum 18hours. if u buy at 1am, u have 18hours to go, but if u buy at 5pm, you only have 5hours to go to eat all 400sms. thats so tricky and suck. really feel disaponted about maxis.

......I'm still using Talk Plan......

*until now, I still cannot figure out Hotlink's website, not friendly website for me.... sad

I just found out the SOS Top Up, but why not applicable for those have balance inside?
Just deduct inside balance, then this is good for me....since I have quite a lot of balance inside.....sad ..... shakehead.gif

Either your friend is at weak reception area or your friend is kind of lazy people that lazy to delete old sms msg. Sometimes i'm too, lazy to delete sms until it's full untill the msg icon blinking then only i delete. My friends always fu#k me for late sms received due to my inbox is full.

Refer to here for more channel in Top Up ur credit.

My advice not to buy from them which selling higher than nominal value. Walk few step if you could spot any 7-11 / Kiosk outlet.
I think saving RM1 is good to buy a bottle of mineral water to relieves thirst.. rclxms.gif

Hey guys, maxis user here too rclxms.gif

I have a problem here sad.gif

Ive just registered, GPRS, WAP, Streaming, and using Nokia 6680, i wanted to view, MaxisTv, and i bought Hitz.Tv for one day package (RM1)... Problem now is, i cant view the channel...

It says Click on the channel name to start watching now, Hitz.tv, and when i click it, it says Connection to server needed.Connect?, and i click Yes, then it says Max. number of connections in use. Close an active connection first?, then i press OK, Then this box appears,

Disconnect from:
Maxis WAP GPRS Web, and i press the Disconn. Then it comes out Maxis WAP GPRS disconnected, then after trying to connect, it says Unable to Connect, i offed my phone, and on it back a minute later, its still the same, my credit is RM10.50 currently.

Thank You smile.gif
