Just saw this awesome thread. I would like to clone my current HG8240H into my Huawei MA5671A( i have alcatel and nokia G010s sticks too)

What are the commands to get/echo current parameters on the HG8240 for the followings?

flash set OMCI_SW_VER1 V3R017C10S100
flash set OMCI_SW_VER2 V3R017C10S100
flash set GPON_ONU_MODEL HG8240H
flash set GPON_SN HWTC14211ED8
flash set PON_VENDOR_ID HWTC
flash set HW_HWVER BF9.A
flash set HW_CWMP_MANUFACTURER 'Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd'
flash set HW_CWMP_PRODUCTCLASS HGU

Thanks bro.

My ont is HG8240H when i login it is only a basic page with some basic info such as PLOAM password and SN. My SN is not HWTC or 48575.

It starts with E2B. Is this my GPON_SN?

My suspect there is another level of superuser for this ONT. i cannot download configuration file therefore backdoor to enable ssh/telnet is not possible?

Isp is time. Any info?

one guy from Chile has successfully using GPON ONU SFP base off my GitHub repo.

user posted image

apparently Movistar Spain ISP implement OLT quite bizarre, such very high security, detect rouge ONU cause whole Taman (under same OLT) will have internet black-out.

at ISP mercy, no issue of fine or summon.

I glad TM didn't do this method, if TM did, I am sure put heavy fine on you that trying to replace ONU with wrong information.

this OLT blackout,.TM can blame you for the Internet blackout.

dear TM, if you guys read this, please don't do this OLT internet blackout 🙏

to avoid OLT detecting rouge ONU and sending Alarm, it should be better set the information before plugging the fiber, but GPON ONU SFP only allow Telnet/SSH/WebGUI when fiber is plugged in, you need find a friend who have small OLT to set.

Mine max 1480 - if i put more than 1480 my log file will be full of notification ehehe.

Yeap, when I set MTU to 1488 there's a serious thrashing of logs, invalid MTU of 1492. Turns out that setting both Max MTU and Max MRU to 1488 fixed it.

Yesterday I went to my friend home Hezaika at Bandar Sri Damansara.
user posted image

Currently he using my old heavily modified GPON ONU SFP (RTL9601CI) on his RB5009, an experiment has been run for almost 2 years? since I have some Proxmox VM hosted inside his Proxmox Server ( because TIME upload speed is nice rclxms.gif )
user posted image

I tested GPON ONU SFP that 2Gbps Unifi user use on TIME Fiber, his plan on 500Mbps
user posted image

Some how it went to O5 then back to O2 and O3 indefinitely, the VLAN is visible but not working
user posted image

not enough time to check everything, can't have long no Internet

I need check back what change I made with my old GPON ONU SFP

The thing is, my old GPON ONU SFP was incompatible with Mikrotik ROS 7.7 and above, never sync even at 1Gbps,
so my friend stuck at ROS 7.6 this reasons that I plan to upgrade to newer one, but TIME OLT not allow it

so, back to old GPON ONU SFP
this one very very rare now, see my custom firmware still works with TIME >.<

Traveling from Seremban to Bandar Sri Damansara I can't do it everyday, hahaha, cost going there are very high with multiple layer of TOL
I need find back the old GPON if they still make it, just for TIME maybe Maxis users

oh, one thing, the old GPON ONU SFP can't work with any Media Converter even HiSGMII to 2.5G Ethernet with UART/TTL didn't work bangwall.gif

SFP Standard is not really have a global standard cry.gif

A little insider told me that, I need update the first post, out a warning that I and you all here are not responsible for other user bad action that cause disruption of TM, TIME and other ISP.

also, gov agency and high TM not know about GPON ONU SFP yet, but among TM technician know this.

then, rooted ONU may illegal especially diagnostic program is accessible by user, can cause issue on production GPON, the diagnostic program mainly use for troubleshoot within own GPON private network.

so far only RTL960x based provide diagnostic program by default, I need find back and eradicated the command I wrote long time ago that force laser on and etc... 😅😅😅

Hi sifu, just curious but can we use XPON stick if we don't use GPON stick? Also currently I'm looking at ONU OLT from Alibaba that has 10GBe and 2.5GBe LAN, would we be able to mod that with our original ONU OLT info onto it?

Also if we were to use let's say a Intel 82599ES SFP+ PCIe card, would we be able to theoretically pull greater than gigabit if our Unifi is on a 2Gbps plan with an XPON stick? Appreciate your input on this!

Oh well, basically followed the instructions here and this is what i get from pink internet. Always wanted to get rid of the fugly default router and now my setup is cleaner with only 1 wifi router. Nothing "illegal" was done on my setup but just to clone the settings from original router to get the 05 status. Achieved 100mbps more using gpon instead of the speed loss using the default router.

i didn't follow exactly because somehow my settings on router is a bit different, eg SN and hardware/software version all different from this thread. Heck even my vlan is totally off compares to this. Basically i was cloning my old router details into gpon, esp the OMCI details because my area needed the OMCI aside from PLOAM password to register on pink system.

Mind sharing the XPON stick model, is it XGSPON? if yes, that it wouldn't work unless connected to XGSPON OLT, as their wavelength is different

Should still be the same as the ones on Aliexpress/taobao link. But currently TM is still using GPON OLT as opposed to XPON OLT correct? And hence the compatibility issue?

XGPON uses different wavelength of light. Unless the product advertises backwards compatibility with GPON, else I would assume it's XGPON only.

my friend place stuck at O3 when I changed to different GPON, TIME has very restrictive which ONU can use, currently he using my old RTL9601CI and I no time to check back what I did back then, Seremban to Sri Damansara quite far 🤣

some TIME customer contacted they using same RTL9601CI (old model) stopped working suddenly

Leox also using same SoC what I have been told, unless you can dump the OMCI send to them to see Encrypted OMCI

Mine LEOX is under Realtek RTL9601CI too. I didn’t do much, just PLOAM password, HW, FW info via its WebGui & Save. Very stable since April. LEOX always have a constant firmware updates. Since I purchased, they have came out with 2 firmware updates.

LEOX is also ISP in Poland. Perhaps the firmware pretty stable.

yea, they also have contacted me, the firmware is on Linux Kernel v3 like OpenWRT GPON, meanwhile others like ODI still in v2

I been told my Leox team that Unifi implementation of LAN Port Provision not supported, TM OLT sends two inner and outer and has fixed PON to LAN1 - 4 mapping, so I didn't bother to buy Leox stick since not work with Unifi 😭
