Sony Bravia X80H Malaysia release: 4K HDR and Dolby Atmos compatibility with price starting from RM3099

If you've finally decided that it's time to invest in a 4K TV, Sony has a new option for you. Today, Sony Malaysia announced that the Bravia X80H 4K LED TV is now available for pre-order directly at the Sony Stores in KLCC and the Curve or at selected Sony Centres. It will be available in 49-inch, 55-inch, 65-inch, and 75-inch sizes.

The Bravia X80H has a lot of offer. Its X1 4K HDR processor does as its name suggests, delivering full 4K (3840 x 2160) resolution and support for HDR10. In addition, it has Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos compatibility, super-thin bezels to optimise the viewing experience, and Motionflow of up to 50Hz for smoother visuals in action scenes. You can also find a plethora of content through the Google Play Store through apps like Netflix and Amazon Prime.

According to Sony Malaysia, the new model will officially be available starting from April 2020. Will you be interested in getting one when April comes? What else do you want to see from a more budget-oriented 4K TV? Comment on this topic on our Facebook and remember to follow us on TechNave.com for more tech news.

Bravia X80H retail prices:

75X8000H (75-inches) – RM 9699
65X8000H (65-inches) – RM 5399
55X8000H (55-inches) – RM 3799
49X8000H (49-inches) – RM 3099

I was waiting for this tv but the price is out of my budget. I think I have to choose the previous model.

Huge different in RRP price. I doubt it will drop to same price as last year model.

2020 65 X8000H
RRP = RM5399
Offer = ?

2019 65 X8000G
RRP = RM4599
Offer = RM3500-RM3999

Not sure about you guys. I saw them in sony center curve. Looks nice. Added x1 processor. Important upgrade. Slightly faster android. Added atmos and vision. But the price increase like so many times. Maybe times are bad sony got to increase price to get more profit. Or our money weak. And added much more features.

Now 8000g 75 inch at 7k.

But 8000h quality ok la. Previously 75 inch 80g was about 8.5 k. Now 8000h need 9.7k.

I might, Lazada will have a birthday sale on 27th this month. Hopefully, the tv have a big discount.

Best offer I saw for Sony 65 X8000G was from Desa Home at Shoppee.
RM35XX + 15% coin cashback. (too bad, offer gone)

Was really excited with x900h for ps5 and ampere gpu gaming setup. The price is painfull for me but specwise is very good with hdmi 2.1.But sony malaysia took too long to launch it and theres review showing obvious colour banding.

x80H got dolby vision. But x80h lack of Full array local dimming. Rting only rate this tv got terrible HDR movie experience 6/10.

sony x800H review from rting.com

x80H is much worst than 2016 vizio P series which got local dimming too.

i was waiting for 65" X90F when they listed it on their website. But when the actual model available here, they decided to bring in the 85" only.

Pray hard Sony Malaysia dont make the same stupid decisions again and bring in 85" X90H only

my suspicion that they dont have to kill their lower end OLED TVs

Sony Malaysia confirm will bring in 55" , 65" ,75" .85" x90H. this year. But no more x950H model this year. This is good decision. 4k Mid-range Got x90H . Higher model got OLED A8H. X90H is good Start for true HDR experience for Malaysian, far better than most of edge lit led TV.

Not specs/performance 😅

More like choices and pricing wise

Is there a 2020 X85H here?

If you buy from U.S you will have to use a transformer to downvolt from 220v to 110v that's the only downside and it's the reason why i'm not sure if i myself should go with the U.S route which i'm also considering.
Does any retailer in JB sell the X90H already? Because even on lazada and sony website it is still unavailable for purchase.

Do you guys have any lobang or advice for me to deliver to singapore from sony my? I do not wish to buy from sony singapore as their price is even higher than both u.s and msia. The X9000H in singapore costs SGD$2499.. I'm not sure how did their marketing team came up with such insane price.

Just to confirm msia voltage is similar to singapore am i right? 220v/50hz. So it seems perfect if it is true. I'll just need a solution for delivery to singapore, if you guys have any recommendation or solution please share with me. Thanks!

If i buy from sony msia and ship to sg i pay delivery + gst 7% also will not exceed SGD$1.5k... that's a SGD$1000 savings.... I think dex should just buy from sony msia as even if it is more expensive than U.S, at least it is not by x2 the price and you will not need a transformer to down volt which will save u a hassle as I'm not sure if it is recommended to use a voltage converter / transformer on a TV.

*
For msia, X90h will be available for purchase starting nxt month. No exact date yet though.

Hey, guys. Need your expertise. What is the difference between X900h and X950h? So far I only know the difference are:

1) Better processor on X950h
2) Wide Angel X on X950h.

The rest should be the same right? Also These model will have 120hz capabitlity and VRR supported in future firmware update right?

Actually, 2020 year Sony TV model only 900H got Hdmi 2.1 feature. 950H target for better picture quality but don't have hdmi 2.1 feature like ALLM, VRR, 4k120hz gaming feature support.

I think they trying to sell as much for 55' and phase out older model like x8000 x85000. Then end of year like 11.11, they going for discount rm5xxx price which actually the real price.

Then we going for... Wow cheap cheap hahahaha

Then the price factor for 55" is 4.3
The price factor for 65" is 5
So if price factor for 65" if 4.3 should be around 6k

Anyway for 65" 6k above is outer my league... The only way i would buy it during major promotion event like 11.11

There still are 2018 55" Panasonic FZ950(?) still selling for less than 6K on Lazada. For movies, I am pretty sure it still trumps 2019/2020 LED or even QLEd for movies.

Sony Announces A Few Bravia TVs That Are ‘Ready For PlayStation 5’

The PlayStation 5 coming at the end of the year. Sony is taking this opportunity to announce a few Bravia TVs that it has labelled “Ready for PlayStation 5”. These are the Sony Bravia X90H and the Bravia Z8H.

One key feature that sets the two models apart are their display resolutions. The Sony Bravia X90H comes with a 4K HDR screen. The Bravia Z8H, on the other hand, goes all the way up to 8K with HDR. Both of them support 120Hz refresh rates at 4K resolution, though the latter is capped at 60Hz when in 8K mode.

Sony also touts that both the Bravia X90H and the Bravia Z8H can be turned on alongside a plugged in PS5. That being said, this isn’t exactly an exclusive feature to these Bravia models or the PS5. The same can already be done with the PS4, and with almost any smart TV that’s already in the market. But on the flip side, there’s no denying the benefit of being able to play games in 4K and 120fps. For games that support such high framerates anyway.

The Sony Bravia Z90H comes in four sizes, which are 55, 65, 75 and 85 inches. These are priced from RM4,299 onwards. The Bravia Z8H, on the other hand, only comes in the 85-inch size, and will be priced at a whopping RM79,999. Both models will be available locally in August, but Sony Malaysia did not provide an exact date for either model.

Initially I went to Seng Heng Sri Petaling last Sunday. They said stock coming soon.

Then Wednesday I went to SenQ Mines on Wednesday. They had 2 incoming stock. 1 already bought. I took the other and they delivered yday morning.
Then yday evening the Sri Ptlg branch called and said they dunno when stock coming rclxub.gif

Try the Mines branch if you live around there.

By mathematical calculation it should be 5.5k that's was my assumption. But turns out Sony is another freaking blood sucking company. They know 65 inch is normal buying size. So they increased it. Knowing no competition in this region.

But maybe the 55 inch pricing was a mistake. That's why the big jump.

Makes you wonder.

Who's gonna buy a 55 inch.

On another note the x8000h 75 inch is at 9k plus. So if the x9000h 65 inch is at 5.5k then the 75 inch will have to be at least 11k to 12k to make a difference. So the jump is too big.

By right the 55 inch x9000h should start at 6k plus. 7k for 65 inch and then 11k for 75 inch that's will look more logical.

Anyhow the price is like this.

Cant really understand why if phone can be price as close as rrp in US. Why tv can't? Did we get ripped of the pricing, not to mentioned the electronic we received here might be sub par compared to US. This is coming from a friend working in US electronic industry. He told me that usually electronic products being shipped to Malaysia or other SEA countries will be sub par quality. Oh except Singapore.

Well... 85" 950G is 18k, I don't think 85" 900H will be 13k.

RRP for US is about USD4.3K, that’s about MYR12K -13K range (including VAT). Malaysia is way too expensive. 950G shall be compared with 950H instead. 900H is slightly lower than 950H in terms of PQ and image processing.

I was quoted Sony 65 x80H for RM4499. Is that a good price? 65 X90H is going for 6499. Is it worth paying the huge diff? Do you thing I will get a better price elsewhere?

For me, this tv definitely a top of priority list. 120hz and 2.1hdmi. Ps5 n Future proof.

Huge difference. X90h is far better than x80h. X80H will worst than vizio in the picture because vizio got local dimming. X80h don't have local dimming.

No i meant for price drop. I believe for now, this is premium price for x90h. Best value buy should be in november. But how much should drop? Need to compare with x80h as both identical price release.

X80h, not hdmi 2.1. Better pana gx800 thn x80h, during my survey.

Price will be steeper. Actually there are a lot of comparison between 900H and 950H. Generally the colour processing for 950H will be more accurate but sometimes could lose to 900H due to over processing. If budget is not a constraint, of course 950H will be of better choice. 900H probably would be value for money considering 120Hz, HDMI 2.1 feature for ps5.

I guess this is made in Malaysia as the newsletter from Sony stated supported made in Malaysia items and 90H are of one of them.

Actually for 55 inches 90H price, its considered really cheap. This TV was sold in Singapore with a price SGD2.1k ( after discount, equivalent to RM6.3k ).

strong in upper mid range model ? if strong in quantity of unit sold... i bet MY number of sales unit might be higher due to population size? maybe...hehe

that's question always pop up in my mind .. why more verity range of product goes to SG instead of MY.. this mean SG ppl buy more upper range model of electronic compared to MY ppl?

If u game a lot n planning to buy ps5, go x90h. No need to worry about burn in.

If u like watching movies etc @ varied contents, go c9. Oled 》led. Standard LG warranty is 2 years. After 2 years just pray ur tv will not have burn in. If not, it aint cheap to replace the panel when warranty is over.

From reviews, the android os on x90h is fast/snappy.

But if u start loading external/xxx apps, etc...that would be subjective 😅

Wow! This Sony X90H really is something! For half price of OLED but you get something very closed to it awesome quality!

Full array is awesome! I will consider this for upgrade my home town TV to 65". biggrin.gif
I can't afford 2nd unit OLED some more in 65" OLED, also my family mostly watch Astro where OLED is something better to avoid.

I also just check in both model, it is huge differences. X8000h look ok but they is no way near the quality output from X9000h.

OLED confirm win because OLED black is exact black, no light coming out.

But this X90H is wah! frank speak very closed to OLED already, freaking awesome!

QLED - sorry to said I never like it, lower model QLED quality is very suck, higher model QLED price too much, I rather pick OLED for that price.

Original price was RM 10,499.00, possible Senheng give wrong information? This is brand new model, discount RM 1,500 a bit hard to believe. Haha!

Unless Sony itself put wrong price at website as the 85" now had no price. Haha!

if u can afford, go x90h. its far more superior in every department compared to x80g.

i myself initially was aiming to get an oled, b9/c9. hdmi 2.1 is a must for me since i'll be getting ps5 later on. main purpose of new tv is gaming. but considering the potential of burn in, i kept asking myself whether it'll be worth it or not. my friend c8, twice got burn in within 2 years. he primarily use it on gaming/utube/netflix. thats makes me worried lol. after warranty finish, if got burn in issues, it ain't cheap to replace the panel.

then i stumbled upon some reviews on x90h. the reviewer were comparing it side by side with c9 / q80t. suffice to say, after watching the review, x90h is the most suitable tv for me lol.

price / performance of x90h is insane. definitely one of the top contender for TV of the year for 2020.

I don't think a VA TV can contest with an IPS TV in any way when it comes to viewing angles though . Not even close .

Only the X950H has special optical filter for wide viewing angles ; the X90 doesn't though .

This is not the case with X9000H.

Just found Sony X900H 85 inch selling at RM13,499 (inclusive of RM500 coupon) from SenHeng website. There is additional 10% Credit Rebate. There is no online listing for 65 or 75 inch.

Should be ips
Tomorrow you can view x9000h 75 inch in curve Sony.

They have a side by side x9000h Vs x8000h.

8000h missing some details. And the motion flow. Definitely x9000h wins hands down.

Otherwise. If untrained eye. Or general public. You can't really tell the difference.

I think X80H wise is IPS.

It cost not much extra for X90H, why don't just getting the X90H straight, it look better from design to screen quality.

Frank speak Samsung Q60T quality look like shit, Samsung shouldn't release Q60 series as this total destroy it QLED brand on quality.

Samsung only Q80 and above series looks nice.

That 5" differences did not make any huge different. Wonder why you need 50" but had issue with 55". Hmmm...

No space. I place my tv in between 2 wardrobes and its fixed. The distance between the 2 wardrobes is just enought to accomodate a 50 inch tv. 55 inch cannot fit. I did the measurements.

Just got my tv delivered this evening. Straight away got it calibrated using rtings settings.

user posted image

Ran some test on uniformity n black level. Really2 impressive. I thought it was an oled for a second lol. Black is really black. Sony full array local dimming really doing its magic here.

Screen uniformity is really good, no blooming as well when i ran the test.

Viewing angle also not bad. Comparable to my previous lg ips tv. Picture below from my dining table, still can see clearly n read the subtitle.

user posted image

View when sitting in front of the tv is just stunning. Played some hdr content and videos. Its gorgeous. I played the same things on my old tv, its like night & day.

user posted image

Tried the netflix calibrated mode, its too dark for my liking. Prefer custom setting as per rtings & manually adjust the brightness to ur liking.

As for the android interface, its really snappy. Opening n closing of apps is really fast. I thought my lg web os is fast, sony takes it to another level.

Havent had the chance to play games on it yet, but most reviews i read said to just use the game mode for the best experience.

Overall, really2 satisfied with it. Can't wait for hdmi 2.1 update n ps5. Should be really fun lol

I prefer to tweak it to my liking. Sony standard setting is good but if we can custom and tweak it to our liking why not?

Saw the unit at senq today. I noticed that 65 inch seems to be better in contrast and picture quality compared to the 55 inch model. Not sure the reason why? Any report on this from review ? Or probably different picture settings used.

When to Sony Center at The Curve, they put the X90H and X80H side by side, I can't find any huge different from the demo video they are playing. If compare them side by side, due to X80H has better side viewing, the picture quality looks better than X90H when you stand toward X80H.

If I put the TV in bright living room, does it mean X80H is good enough?

Probably because of the video quality from the source its playing and picture settings used by them. i too notice the same thing at sony centre sunway pyramid and initially was not impressed by the PQ. then I went to senq at aeon nilai, and they use different video for demo, this time around PQ is better but there are noticeable different between 55inch and 65inch model where 65 inch has better PQ. Also I notice PQ degrade at angle as the panel is VA and the writings or font seems blurry probably because of how pixels was arranged for this panel. Now still contemplating to buy.

My sony X80D bought 4 years ago still going strong and still have a good PQ. Now I want to upgrade my old Sony KDL-42W674A tv as it is not 4K HDR but I think the panel is VA similar to the new X900H.

The difference will be more noticeable if you watch in a dark room setting. Blacks are blacker and highlights more prominent and colours pop out more. In bright room setting the difference is not as noticeable except for certain scenes when you can differentiate a few elements.

So, asked SENQ store on the the 85" price:

It's RM13999 with 12% EZ credit rebate (usable for next purchase)
And RM1816 for extended warranty for a total of 5 years warranty.

Doesn't have the RM500 web discount...

Yes they do as confirmed last week at 1U outlet. That outlet only has 55" for display, 65" need to pre-book. I didn't bring my own sample to test and the outlet didnt had any sample too.

However it was placed next X80H, i couldn't see the diff though

I look at it. Biggest difference is the motion flow that's most significant. Colours. I feel x90 h much better.

Depends. But if you can't be bothered on specs then x80h will do already. It's the fine details x90h will give.

BTW you'd need to play simultaneously the same demo side by side to tell the difference. If one after another you cant take tell. So best you prepare 2 copies of demo

well, imho...its all depends on your "use case" and budget

for casual users (casual viewing, streaming apps, normal gaming), X800H is good enough...

for enthusiast (4K/BD viewing, HT setups, streaming apps, avid gamer, need features like FALD/HDMI 2.1), X900H would be the choice (even OLED TVs if budget permits)

yup.. content preference... if your TV usage use lot of high PQ (dolby vision, HDR content)... then chose X900H... if just casual 4K TV... X800H sufficient...

X80H also with...High Dynamic Range compatibility.....HDR10,HLG,Dolby Vision

Btw,
retail price difference (X80H=>X90H) for 55" is only RM500, but for 65" is RM2200 !! rclxub.gif (75" is RM1900).

The best thing that I like about this TV is the ability to support Airplay from Apple devices and Apple home kit where you can switch on your tv from your phone or iPad. Just recently, I bought an iPad and it comes with a free 1-year apple TV subscription. I was not able to cast the show to my normal android tv and I feel it is useless to enjoy the show from a small screen. Now with X900H, I was able to airplay the show to my TV rclxms.gif and it comes as a surprise as I never thought this feature is included in a SONY android TV. Also, most show in apple tv is Dolby vision 4K cool2.gif .

went to sony center at the curve just now, they have the x800h and x900h 65" side by side for comparison

watching the meerkat and jumanji demo, can't see how the x900h is better sweat.gif

any sifu can advise how can experience the advantage of x900h pls?

planning to get a 65" for living room, will plug it to my pc to surf internet, fb, youtube, movies and gaming (gpu is r9 390, should be able to support 4k gaming at low settings, but unlikely will do it often)

Difference will be more obvious in dark room setting. Daylight/bright lit room not so much difference.

Yes, it is more obvious in dark room settings, I too have this thought initially but change after testing using dolby vision content. If you're planning to use in living room probably have to consider that it is VA panel, therefore viewing angle will degrade at extreme end.

More easy to see the difference is HDR dark scene video, Which tV need local dimming to control blooming. Ips panel dark to become grey not enough black.

I think SENQ's offer is the best now for 85X9000H.

13999 - 500 - 10%(or 12%) rebate and Free Sony WF-1000XM3

SenQ warranty is 1800+ for up to 5 years coverage.

Sony Store was giving free warranty up to 5 years. But no further free gift. Good to get from Sony Store if you want a complete peace of mind warranty coverage as Sony Warranty are more extensive and unlimited claim within that 5 years.

I'm not sure if SENQ offer other sizes...
I just asked for 85" sweat.gif

If you want the salesman I contacted, I can PM you his phone number.

Sony Store in Queensbay Penang. I think it's the same throughout Sony store in Malaysia.
But the free up to 5 years warranty supposedly ended yesterday...

I'm using 65X850B, 5 years plus. No issue.
My android phone can cast to the TV quite easily.
Before that was a panasonic LED TV, so can't really compare...

My brother have a 65X850A, probably on it's 7th year, no issue so far.

Just now ask from Senheng the price for X90H 55inch is RM 3,999 with 5% rebate (for next purchase). Then come with 2+2 years warranty if you are PlusOne Citibank member. Also can trade in my faulty 8 years old LCD TV for another RM100 discount.

He probably want to clear and to make space. During pkp impossible price increase. After october, people will start pay for home loans, we see merchendise can remain the same price.

X900H supports Dolby Atmos sound processing but it does not mean that their built-in TV speaker is going to give you the "true" Dolby Atmos experience (height/ceiling effects, real surround sounds)

better invest in a proper Surround Speakers System for that (eg 5.1.2, no soundbar please biggrin.gif unless you have no space/choice)

Question. I'm receiving my X9000H tomorrow.

For PS5, if I want to run it at 4k@120hz, I should connect the PS5 straight to the TV instead of going through ARC right?

Hmmm... can show me what does a high speed cable means?
Saw optical cable HDMI 2.1 that is capable of 48Gbps.
Also HDMI 2.0 that is capable of 18Gbps...

Either one works? If I get the HDMI 2.1 (optical cable) but my amplifier doesn't support HDMI 2.1, will it still work?

Anybody knows?

if u r buying a brand new HDMI cable, just go for the latest specs which is HDMI 2.1 (the word High Speed, can be quite confusing as there are many cables also marketed as High Speed 2.0/1.4, etc)

if your devices does not support or passthrough 2.1, it will still works (but backward compatibility to 2.0/1.4 and you dont get the 2.1 goodies)

48Gbps is the latest HDMI 2.1 cable, just go for this, it is fully backward compatible and future proof.

Saw this A8h and amazed by the quality of the oled display. Too bad this does not have hdmi 2.1 ports, else this will be the perfect tv for gaming.

Probably it is the cheapest in town, if you are not looking at buying additional warranty.

ESH: RM6599 with 2+3 years warranty inclusive

Senheng: RM6499 with 2+1 years warranty if you join member. Someone mentioned if you are Citi Plus One Member, warranty will be 2+2. Additionally, you can trade in your old TV and a future purchase rebate of 10%.

Not jail bar. Its horizontal line that darts accross the screen and move up, often in pairs.

Simply turning off the tv n wall plug socket for few seconds will resolve the issue.

Quite a few of x900h user in reddit experienced the same thing. One of them said its because of a bug in Android system.

I see some places selling the TU8500 for around 3k, but my supplier friend selling 2.7k. add about RM900+ i can get this x90h.

Any suggestions would be really helpfull in me making that purchase decision.

But viewing distance is also important.

Onking quoted 65" x90h for 6600. Need 3 days for order to deliver.

I'm actually considering the 55inch X90H for my room, to replace my current monitor setup.

Since XBSX will not have an optical port - I need a TV with ARC to utilize my soundbar and seems like a TV is my only solution. I'm just concerned about the distance, although I can sit away from my table (placing the TV on the table).

The recommended the viewing distance from Sony website is 1 feet (for 55 inch) - can anyone confirm this?

I'm actually considering the 55inch X90H for my room, to replace my current monitor setup.

Since XBSX will not have an optical port - I need a TV with ARC to utilize my soundbar and seems like a TV is my only solution. I'm just concerned about the distance, although I can sit away from my table (placing the TV on the table).

The recommended the viewing distance from Sony website is 1 feet (for 55 inch) - can anyone confirm this?
*
Bro 1feet viewing distance for a 55inch is way too near.. ur viewing angle will be 70 degree ++++

55inch at least 4feet not mistaken

i cant advice u for atmos. as i dont use it. i am still using 5.1 only. does atmos work without earc? i not sure about this. coz i believe there is no earc now. waiting for firmware update.

my reason to get x90h 55" over x80h 65" is for the FALD feature and the higher quality panel. if u prefer size of feature, then x80h will be suitable for u. Side by side, I see very little diffference at least on demo. I suspect with darker scene movies, the absence of FALD will be felt more. But this is a case only if u watch in a dark or semi dark room as it is in my case. If u watch in a well lit room, this is not so much an issue i think.

your budget for x80h 75" can probably also get a x90h 65" plus 1k pocket change

Currently can afford to have Z9F paired with X90H.

So far to me its ok.. the dialog is clear

Watching Withcher with Dolby Vision + Atmos to me is really a treat to me eye.

Previously was only into HD TV.. So not much comparison can make. 😬

Without the Sub, don't want to disturb the next room with that bass - and that sub cost as much as the Arc itself tongue.gif

The beauty of Sonos ecosystem is the wireless setup and integration.

The Arc is a good but I guess for my current setup I don't need a huge soundbar + setup since its only for a small room. The Beam is perfect.

From my experience with 85" x90H, with HDR on, it IS very bright.

Sometimes it so bright that FALD is not handling it well, I can see blooming, subtitles can cause the dark bar at the bottom to have minor light leak.

And top left can see some blooming on Netflix HDR movies too.

Do u mean x90h has poor local dimming?
have you tried setting like the video below?

No issue with subtitle on SDR movies, only a bit annoying on HDR movies.

The blooming is more obvious if u not sitting directly in front of the tv. Even off by 10 degrees also can notice the blooming already. It will be less obvious under direct light n sitting directly center.

For OLED subtitle in black bar no blooming issue in HDR but still too bright if subtitle is in white color.

Lucky player I use can choose Light Grey for subtitle and this will eliminate the issue.

Some blooming on certain scenes only..not all the time.

You can play around with the settings, to minimize it.

At the end of the day, it is what is it...its FALD LCD TV.

If you want zero blooming, get an OLED

I dont see any other FALD TV can compete with x90h for now...(in Malaysia market)

I owned LG OLED TV and definitely zero blooming issue. But for 85 inch TV with budget less than 15k, X90H is the best option for me right now.

ready stock as of hunting last month is Harvey Norman...Seng Heng within 1 week....1 Living need 2-3 weeks upon order/booking
price wise Harvey Norman > Seng Heng > 1 Living (hence the ready stock vs price offered)

Seng Heng and SenQ last i went some shop got stock. Just need the staff to make an effort to call around and see which shop has it. But they say for sure the Shah Alam warehouse has stock. But that one can only be sent with delivery only. No self pickup. If u planning to buy from this shop, and if u got citibank credit card, ask for their plusone citi membership. this will give u +2 years additional warranty instead of just +1 for regular member. This is the mistake i done last time. Dont repeat.

You mean, you can use any citibank credit card to get extra 2 years warranty on all products at Senq or Seng Heng? How much would that cost?

I using Infuse Pro in my Apple TV 4K, the most customizable subtitle apps I ever found.

I don't play KODI, that thing is troublesome in every platform and I never like it.

i think the best for 55" was during 9.9 sales on Lazada, around 3.4K for 2 years warranty, and 3.9K for 2+3 years warranty.
too bad i missed the ship, hopefully can get the same price during the upcoming 11.11 sales.

Infuse Pro is for personal collection movies. I use together with Plex where Plex as database catalog.

I REMUX all my Blu-ray collection, too lazy to insert disc already nowadays. Once you get use to browse directly, you would never want to insert disc.

For 4K Blu-ray player, I use Panasonic DMP-UB400 UltraHD Blu-ray. I can't REMUX myself 4K yet as I don't have 4K Blu-ray drive for PC.

Actually all mentioned in my signature. If you view from mobile, you need to choose desktop mode just can seen. Haha!

Sony @ Sunway Pyramid selling around 3.8k - not sure about the freebies but seems like Curve’s promo is worth it thumbsup.gif

So ONKING @ Taipan is currently OOS for X90H - stocks coming in next month. Seng Heng @ Taipan also need 1-2 weeks for new batch of stocks.

Seems like this model is really hot selling.

If this happen in SDR , disable local dimming , set it to off .

If this happen in HDR , there is nothing much you can do except to turn off the subtitles .

Sony's LCD TVs don't handle subtitles very well , unlike the Samsung LCD but they come with a cost of crushing smaller highlights .
There is no perfect solution on LED LCD TV currently .

Finally gotten my unit (x90H) last night at Harvey Norman Sunway Pyramid.

The unit was supposed to go up the wall as a display unit, but the wall has been occupied by the larger units so they plan to re-arrange it today.

Fortunately I was lucky, straight told the salesperson I’ll take it now - new and sealed box.

Initially booked my unit from Sony upstairs, but they sold it - the customer was pushing out the unit from the store as I walked in. ☹️

You calibrate TV right? Have you seen this X900h model?

I read review this TV is great and even got HDTVtest value pick award. So I went to SenQ few days ago, I compare the TV with LG CX55 (2 TVs away) and the highlight just wont pop like CX. Maybe this is the best what LCD panel can do? Like hitting the limitation.

Actually if u listen closely to the review, it wasn't a very good review on the x900h from hdtvtest nor is a detailed one. His review unit is a 75 inch model. He is saying it's a value pick for a 75 inch model because nothing else at that price point have that features in the UK. It's very specific to that size the review. At smaller sizes, the choices becomes more and competing offering is also more compelling. He actually like the x950h more. The review is much more detail and like twice longer the video length. Unfortunately this is not available in Malaysia.

Let's be honest , X900H has garnered a lot of praises mainly due to having a low price tags and so many great features ( namely HDMI 2.1 , Native 10 bit & 120hz panel ) .

But if we are talking about pure PQ performance , it is not meant to compete with OLEDs as those belongs to the premium market .

The affordable price tags also come with sacrifices , such as having 32 dimming zones limited its FALD performance by quite a bit .
The cost of having low gaming input latency is evident , as Sony has limited post picture processing on this TV .

Basically X900H is what X850 from previous years are , but with a local dimming system and HDMI 2.1 ports .

If we are looking for the best LCD this year , it would be Samsung's Q95T no doubt but it is far more expensive than other brands .

OFF TOPIC :

Unfortunately BX is already butchered by LG .

Apparently they have chopped its brightness ratings to below 500 nits on BX now icon_question.gif

That is a huge difference compare with the 700-800s on CX .

yes, when comes to PQ, no way OLED can loose at least not for consumer grade product. The price itself already such a big diff.

And i too agree the picture processing for x900h is actually quite annoying sometimes. especially the motion setting. there is no 1 setting that can suit all. diff type of content always has diff effects. I find myself keep on need to change the setting when watching diff type of source content.

yes, this TV can get Vision and Atmos on Netflix (tv app)

you will need to output DD+ to get Atmos (explore the SOUND settings menu)

example of movies with both Vision+Atmos is The Old Guard, Project Power and Da 5 Bloods

casual users can go for X8000H

if u need the dark room performance/FALD, go for X9000H

my personal answer is X9000H 55' due to pic quality over size.. since now comfort with 55' size

if only Netflix, X80H sufficient coz got Dolby Vision, but for Netflix Calibrated Mode.. not sure X80H got not.. X90H got... but but but.. in the end if u custom fine tune the setting of follow Rting Setting.. the Netflix Calibrated Mode pretty much useless...

Ya. Calibrated mode sux. Make pic so dark. I heard sony use the player-led dolby vision which lower quality.

I noticed when watching Netflix @ DV with Netflix Calibrated Mode - the subtitles feels very bright / glaring.

I tried adjusting the brightness but seems like on Calibrated Mode this cannot be changed - but if I switch it off, the brightness seems to always be defaulted at 'Max'.

sure..always go for bigger screen size.

65inch = living area
55inch = room, etc

after awhile...65inch also seems "small"....exploring 75/85 inch rclxm9.gif

it is subtitle blooming effect due to fald and high brightness setting during watch HDR/DV. Its more obvious when watching dark background movie.

u can lower down the vivid brightness by adjusting the brightness level down and put contrast enhancer to off, color if u think too strong u can put down to 50-55. u can refer to the custom setting. this setting supposed to be the most color accurate setting the tv should default to.

As long as its connected to HDMI eARC / ARC, it should be good.

Never encountered such issues that you've mentioned thou. I'm using a Sonos Beam.

Netflix had very little SD film to bother about.
Means very little movie is scale up to HD as it is normally at least HD.

If your subscription only can view SD, nothing much can help here.

For noise wise, as long not color noise, it is very ok as it is supposed like this especially older film which origin is analog. DNR is very bad and majority not accept it, that why you seen nowadays new Blu-ray remastered or 4K remastered, the noise is maintain.

As for subtitle, it depends on device. So far I don't like subtitle from TV, it is very big and very bright. At least it is for LG and Panasonic.

It just nice in Apple TV 4K box.
