today's try..

look at the vcore, is it dangerous?
*
Sure you can't do that on stock Vcore ? Vcore here is 1.378 and it runs at 390 fsb, temps never go past 63. I'm not using one of those expensive coolers either, just a Rm45 CM Silence I installed only because the stock cooler was flexing the board.

get gigabyte p31 ds3L its same like p35 ds3 with the exception of a older southbridge, its below rm 300 la

dont get a 1gb 800mhz its bullcrap
just get a 667mhz rated and ramp the divider higher or pump fsb

regarding waht you posted at #389, do you have eist or c1E enabled, if so then it was NOR underclocking its the power saving feature.

I look into it the board.. thanks for the advice. wanted to sell it off and buy the 6550. I was wondering why am I overclocking.. hehehe.

All your talk about NOR and C1E makes me feel like a noob. Whats that? Its not in the board.. probably the 945 gigabyte not good enough or does not have any of those feature.

I just read the review. it looks like a ATX board, was looking for a mini atx to clock

NOR was a typo for NOT tongue.gif

urm, it should be under power management or intgrated peripharals, its EIST (enhanced Intel Speedstep Tech) and C1E (same like c1E but Enhanced) turn those 2 off and try to oc it again biggrin.gif

I would agree with you. The review should pretty tel much the whole point. Basically, giga's site is just a 'precaution' as it wasnt officially meant for 1333bus CPUs

This is getting so frustrating. I;ve already followed your steps. disable it. cpu host = 200 . system multiplier = 3.33 which equals 667 . SO basically its 200 x 8 = 1600 which is the default but i set manual but still will not boot up. ARRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH. I really do not know whats wrong anymore.

Do I need 2 stick of rams to overclock or 1 will actually work.

it's not system multiplier..it's called divider...set it to 2.00.

Have to see his ambient temps... and that's a pot. 4.3 Ghz on a pot is lame. Is that frost on the pot ? if it melts you're in trouble. It may be 4.3 Ghz but it's not feasible for daily use.

Hi all,

I am joining the family, just bought e2140 + Gigabyte p35-ds3 today.

But no ideal to overclock the new system.

Decided to buy e2140 after kuchingfight able to OC it to 3.0Ghz, pretty

impressed.

Am running at 3.12 Ghz (390 MHz FSB) -- that's DDR790 at 4-4-4-12. CPU-Z reports voltage at 1.344V. Can go up to 420 but it gets unstable unless I turn the VCore up, but then it overheats really fast. Kmarc has gone up to 480 on the P35-S3L (which will be eternally out of stock now I guess.) People have gone up to 500 MHz on the Biostar P35 (which will also be eternally out of stock now.)

350. not too good. not sure if i have to do any tweaking. like lower voltage and such.. thats for e6550, have not tried on e2140 yet. I was wondering why did bryanyeo87 say its not necessary to go for 800 Mhz. I was thinking of getting it, but is it a waste of money. coz the price difference is 18 ringgit.

It really depends on your RAM and cooling. In general to get higher speeds you increase voltage to the chipset, the processor and RAM. But doing that really heats up the parts, so you need a good cooler to go with that. You already have a 1:1 ratio right ? if you can push the fsb up to 400 MHz, then you won't need 800 MHz RAM because if you can run the FSB at 800 Mhz at a 1:1 ratio, you already have 800 MHz RAM smile.gif it's also true that you might be able to push 800 Mhz RAM above 800 MHz though.

M0-stepping E2140 here, I've reached 420fsb but I have to raise the vCore to 1.475 tongue.gif I turned that one off after temps hit 76C smile.gif it's on a cheap cooler now while I wait for extremeocer to make me a phase-change cooler. If he doesn't run away with the money (LOLOL just kidding !! smile.gif ) I should be able to run at least 420 fsb when I get it. Now running at 390fsb, Orthos stable for 7 hours 45 minutes, OCCT 1 hour was stable. Got to try for longer.

Any recent L2/M0 should overclock decently well. Pretty simple, with a good Ocing board + HSF, juz increase the FSB..violaa

yup, mine is mo e2140 too... smile.gif what's ya highest clock with stock voltage (1.325v)? i'm currently burnin d chip, not doin so well (2.8GHz) but just a fore play as i'm still nuts in intel oc... tongue.gif

ic, thanks bro. one thing i notice bout this 2140 is regardless voltage, be it stock or way up to 1.375, d load temp is alot diff then idle temp (usin coretemp 0.95.4). on load it can go as high as 60'C, while on idle d temp read is just only 30 (+-3)'C. is this normal? sweat.gif

btw, i'm runnin d chip on old skool 965p ds3 (rev 3.3) board with a pair of d9dcl, d chip cooled by katana2 used on my old rig b4, kinda outdated... doh.gif
