Have u tried on ur Abit QuadGT? I just cant go further with this mobo. I wonder why ur  L2 stepping can go that high without mod. unsure.gif
*
Probably for ur case, it's not the Mobo's limitation, but the E4XXX has FSB walls.

wow nice rsult  biggrin.gif . Yah request for air cooling !!

I'm planning buy E2160/E4300 too. Anybody know, good batch for those conroe ?

Probably, 'ALL' the batches will OC consistently well

I'm waiting impatiently for my E2140 to arrive.

urrgg 900mhz fsb? u mean 225fsb? tot it should do waayy well above that.

Anyway all core processor can at least oc up to 1GHz increase if the mobo and ram is right.
*
Debatable statement. It also depends on the cooling, CPU rated speed ( a lower speed family tends to overclock more easily, ie a 1.8ghz default speed will overclock more compared to a 3.0ghz default rated speed of the same family) and also the 'batches' of the cpu, which isnt that important as most of them will overclock relatively well

do u mean lower FSB, n higher mem speed?
*
It's normal for P965 chipset to power down n up after fsb manipulation in bios. This is "Global Reset" as it sets the proper NB strap speed

What cooling are u on? The NB is pretty toasty, perhaps adding a fan to it will help cool it down. u shouldnt need so much Vmch to hit 400fsb, +0.1v will do. And yes, agree with rlhc17, the E2XXX has fsb walls around 400fsb.

@superpc, mayb try some bios mod or something. U can try reading around S3 tips and workarounds. Plenty of it. It will help a lot. Cant help much here as i haven got any experience with it

Isn't M0 going to be PWM11.1 compliant (Meaning, alamak, P35 minimum requirement)
*
errm not sure bout it, but i supposed they will fit the current c2d mobos (before P35) juz fine

can comfirm wether L2 or not.. seems other than 'SL9Tx' need more voltage to OC...

If u've done the processor spec finder, his is 'L2'. most of E2xxx has FSB wall around 400fsb

Anyways I've jus setup an E2140 with Gigabyte P35-S3L. Was hoping for 3.2ghz, but it cant boot , probably due to the FSB wall. Settling at 3ghz now. no complains for a cheapo chip

@ TS, possible to add a list of E21X0 users in the 1st page?

Ok, i Hope this is not a duplication of another E2160 thread. The purpose of this thread is to create a Database & Discuss what ever that are related to P2D. Hope you guys can attach a screeny to proof your case. Please do not submit multiple entries, choose your preferred sreeny and post it here.

Also, please follow the following format

1. CPU speed [ Possible FPO batch Included ]
2. Voltage @ Bios and Load voltage
3. Motherboard
4. HSF

List of Users:

1. kucingfight - E2140 [SLA3H] @ 3.0ghz , LoadVolt = 1.32v, BiosVolt =1.375v, Gigabyte P35-S3L, TT BigTyphoon
2. superpc -E2160 [SLA3H] @ 3.0ghz , LoadVolt =1.39v ,Biosvolt =1.45v, Gigabyte P965-S3, TT Beetle

I'm using Gigabyte P35-S3L , currently it's the cheapest P35 board out there. It's a stripped down version of P35-S3, pressumely 'L' stands for Lite, which the RAID function has been removed and a smaller NB heatsink is employed. The NB is hot to touch, i was suprised myself as i thought it would only be warm. [ As to other reviews of P35 has indicated]

Currently I'm @ 3.0ghz as i'm finding it's the sweet spot. No way it boots @ 3.2ghz. Probably due to the fsb wall which is around 380-400 for the E21X0 series

as you all can see on my specs below..i only manage to oc e2160 to 210mhzx9, that is a shame becoz this cpu can oc near 100%.. i donno whats wrong but at 211mhzx9, the screen goes blank..but it log on to windows..i know it has log on to windows by hearing the windows logon sound..is it faulty gc, mobo, ram, or my psu not 'strong' enough...
or maybe pci-e frequency setting not rite..try setting it ti 105mhz but also failed..

lot of thanx to somebody can help...

mm that's low. Which HSF are you on? did u try setting to 300fsb straight away? flashed to latest bios??

YES it is. it's based on Conroe (E6300 and the likes) architecture BUT with stripped down stuff and all.

E4xxx series is on Allendale architecture.

so, bassically is E2*** series better than E4***?? sorry 4 the noob Q here, it's a long time i've beeen stuck to sock478, this is just my time to upgrade. but due to tight budget, have to get the best bang buck for my money.... thumbup.gif

edit: bcoz of my tight budget, so i have to grab cheap one but with good ocing ability proc for my gaming pleassure. i know with AMD i can get nice gaming rig, but much prefer to Intel as it's good on gaming and multiple app too...
*
Nope, the E4xxx series is better due to the 2mb cache as opposed to the 1mb cache of the E2xxx. Anyways u cant ask more from a sub rm200+ chips, what else, they overclock well.

err... didn't some reviewers already prove tat having more cache has not much diff in real time performance... hmm.gif
*
Speaking of performance relative, the effect is greater when 1mb vs 2mb, rather than 2mb vs 4mb

MMm the G0 step seems new to me (in E2xxx) , all these while, the M0 was hinted strongly to appear , replacing the L2s
