This one should be the driver problem, not your vista problem

i'm having a driver problem here after formatting it into windows xp
there's a hardware where i couldn't locate the driver
the name is "broarcom Bluetooth Download Device"
any where that i can find the driver for it?

i downloaded every drivers from the links posted in the 1st post.
but there isn't 1 for that hardware i suppose?

yea i have tried this but it isn't working.


i tried to redownload it and install again,
it says that "your bluetooth software license does not include use with this bluetooth device"
wtf?

any1 have option for WXGA+ (1440x900) truelife?
wanted to order WXGA (1280x800 ) but no option for truelife

Weird, because I've tested that driver on 2 Inspiron 1520 model. Working fine

When did you order your laptop? Have they change the bluetooth?

Yes, it's one way comm. so it can receive signal from remote control when you press on it.
do mind to share, what is the "other device" you tested to send data to 1520? computer, PDA, hp?

Hao, u know anything bout installing xp mah? just now i do as the first page said la, boot the CD halfway got installation error and BSOD

after leaving in off for the night, this morning i wake up and try the drivers again.
but this time when it detects new hardware, there's something like HID keyboard and mouse, i locate the driver location myself inside the folder C:/dell/drivers/R161378/BTW5_1/Win32/drivers
instead of unzipping the R161378.exe file to do the installation, then the bluetooth drivers installation all went through well without having problem i had yesterday night.

my laptop was the 1st batch of dell 1520 i guess.

3. nVidia driver V 1.4.2.55

All driver released on 3rd september 2007

yup.. i got that message too.. but that installation includes an updated version of creative camera software (correct me if im wrong), so what i did is i install it first, then update the driver again with windows update.

sorry guys....forgot to tell, those drivers are for windows xp...

Installing Windows XP on Dell Inspiron 1520

Before you install XP, you must first configure a setting in BIOS else XP CD will not detect your hardisk

In BIOS:
Onboard Devices -> Flash Cache Module -> Set Off
Onboard Devices -> SATA Operation -> Set ATA

Ok, you can now proceed with installing XP
