Get back to stocked driver. That will solve it. Install driver cleaner and install the stocked driver back.

You going back to the driver that came with the laptop or rolling back to the driver that support the onboard GPU, and then run driver cleaner for nVidia and reinstall the driver for 8600m GT back?

one thing i want you guys to know. When my 1520 arrived, it has some problem with the webcam driver. i use dell direct, they couldnt solve it, then they made a meet up with me. ok, thats the next day...know what? 3 technicians came to my house, repair for that. but i was told the webcam hardware problem. It's ok, the webcam won trouble me much. The machine is still cool. The next thing is, dell called up, saying there will be replacement unit for me! 2 days after, they sent a new one for me. all new, including the targus bag i ordered and everything included. I got the chance to own 2 inspiron 1520 for one week before they took it back. I guess im lucky.

I don't think that it'll be available on 1420//1520/1720. Perhaps in their next model release.

We would appreciate if you could post some reliable source (black and white) to support your statement instead of being told by the manager verbally.

my machine is a 1720. so its additional rm735 for T7500, base is T7100. I didnt take the T7700 which costs a diff of rm1328 from T7500 tongue.gif

i need my laptop to last for at least 3 years, so i think i should at least get a decent spec. thanks for your advice though. would definitely opt for desktop if i could. but going to uni overseas smile.gif
*
Sorry I though you are using 1520 because this thread is 1520 club tongue.gif
Anyhow , the price right now is quite cheap just Rm294 you can upgrade T7100 to T7300.I don't think it's worth for T7500 since next year there'll be santa rosa refresh and faster processor.I can sure at the third year there'll be quad core C2D or even higher with the same price.A T7300 is more than enough for daily usage. smile.gif

Don't waste money upgrading to SSD.Wait for next year , SSD will be avaliable for 80GB and next 2 year 160GB.You can upgrade yourself later refering at Dell manual book.At 2010 , SSD will be very common and the price will be very cheap.
