looks like gotta go back kepong to check it out.. didnt recall when i was there a 1-2 months ago.

I don't recall how much he paid for it. Maybe 2.6 or 2.8k after discount. It stickers at 3.2k at some places I've seen.

I tested them at a big bike shop in ipoh...on an emergency stopover to replace my clutch cable otw back from Thailand. So not been to kepong bike world to check them out again.

actually....speaking of modulars.... what are good full carbon fiber modulars?

was looking at AGV Sportmodular but harga kayangan
HJC Rpha90s carbon is also interesting but i already have the normal Rpha90. plus i cant seem to find the price locally...dunno still have or not since now its Rpha91 series

apa lagi ada? cheaper ones like Zeus pun ada kan? ok ke?

Apparently the RPHA 91/71 is coming in. There is a launch preview this Saturday

Reviews of the 91 from Champion helmets seems good. Being the quietest helmet they tested so far. Too bad the regular carbon kevlar one is fucking heavy at 1750g. The full carbon one still not here yet. Maybe wait for the full carbon one and see if it can shave off some weight. Its going to be expensive though. Might go test it out this Saturday if free.

It seems that all the newer 22.06 versions of helmets are heavier than the 22.05 predecessors. The Scorpion ADX2 I was eyeing , also gained weight to a porky 1800g.

Size M probably. Manufacturer's will normally take the weight of Size M for weight.

NXR2 and K6 is a normal full face though. Modulars are heavier. The bright star is the AGV sport modular carbon. Super light.

this is the reason i posted the question... the 91 has become so overweight that i wont even consider it....even my size L 90 (regular shell) is only 1512g.

if full carbon comes and above 1500g... forget it oso....

wonder if agv is gonna update the sportmodular

Can no problem, helmet paint is also paint after all. Just be careful in the visor, test on a small area first and don't use it on the pin lock. For visor specifically I will use plastic polish and for pinlock only damp cloth.

Rpha 91 already in lor. Tested last week at serdang motorcycle. Feels very good in the head, the neck opening is big enough that I can put it in without removing my glasses(unlike the AGV Sportmodular). But somehow I wear an L for Shoei Neotec 2 but for the RPHA91 the XL fits much better than the L. The L was too tight for me. When flipped up the helmet feels better than the neotec 2 because the mechanism that pulls the chin bar closer to the helmet can really be felt. The weight of the chin bar don't feel as far out and have too much leverage on the helmet.

Well for me I'll be waiting for the RPHA 91 Carbon, hoping it will shed off a few hundred grams. Not to mention the red graphic looks super cool with the carbon. I msged HJC Malaysia and they said will be coming in 2024 cry.gif

Neotec 3 also increased by like 30 grams vs the neotec 2 iinm. Looks like weight increase is a side effect of complying with the new regulations. Sportmodular I tried before, even the largest size I can't wear because my neck too big. The helmet literally choking me. Also I can't out the helmet on without removing my specs, goes to show how tight the neck area is. But that weight is seriously mind blowing.

Cool.... but Holy hell. 1900g for XL. Add a coms system and its way over 2kg.

I guess wait for the full carbon version. Going to be bleedingly expensive though. Still not too hot on the stupid HJC coms that no one uses.

Its normal for people needing to size up for HJC. I'm lucky because I'm between S and M size, so M just fits just perfect. Usually it's either too tight or too loose for S and M. The new 91 has a dedicated M sized shell so it's perfect for me.

From pictures, it seems the new 91 and 71 shell is a little wider than before. Maybe rounder shape.

Went to test out the RPHA 71 and 91 as they just got the stock in.

Verdict.
Good
Comfortable, increased padding comfort, better ventilation, sunvisor that drops down much lower now. M size now gets its own dedicated shell.

Cons
Weight. Both the 71 and 91 is significantly heavier and the helmet is a lot bigger and wider/fatter compared to the old 70/90. I think they just made the helmet bigger on the sides for increased protection for 22.06 which is par for course as many other helmets gained weight for 22.06.

They changed the visor lock to side (left) from the centre lock. I very much preferred the old centre lock. The new latch is a bit fiddly with gloved hands. I usually stop at light in gear and in clutch, so not being able to use my right hand to open the visor is a PITA. The coms allocation is a complete waste of space and weight and makes mounting a 3rd party com all that much more difficult.

The 71 is 100g heavier than my old 70, don't think it is something you will notice... But feels a lot bigger in profile dispite it having its own shell where the old 70 size M shares the same shell as L.. In terms of fitment, I'm between S and M in most helmets but the M size fits me perfectly.

As for the weight of the 91 (1750 for M). Its heavy in hand but quite balanced on the head, but only longer term use will get to know what sort of neck fatigue the extra weight will bring.

Price. Both the 71/91 is coming at the same price point of the old models at 2k/2.2k for solid colours but they indicated the price might go up soon after this intro batch is sold out.

wah, howcome the rpha series is so hefty? just got the chance to test the i90 and c91 dua dua around 1450g.

very torn between the 2. honestly aside from the i90 being quieter, i honestly dont really feel that they are very diferent.
