Sifus, seeking to replace my trusty ol 5 years old HJC IS MAX II. Any recommendation? Or is i90 good enough? Looking for modular. If can, lightweight. But I guess, with a budget of around rm1.5k, can't really go lower than about 1.7kg, right?
*
I'm using HJC i90 for long ride.. Have been using for 2+ months.
M size weight around 1.7kg, when first time wearing have some tight issue around head temple and cheek area but after break in it fits without issue.
You'll get used to the weight after some time IMO.

The vents provided are enough to give you air to your head.
Depending on your tolerance to wind noise you might need an earplug.

look at the e-mark on the strap...even official documentation for ece legality in malaysia only refers to the e-mark and not the ece sticker on the rear.

example of tag here: https://www.bikesrepublic.com/wp-content/up...t-1-696x522.jpg

note that actually helmet visors also need to have their own e-mark to be street legal...but this is usually not enforced or ppl dont even know about it.
*
I see.. but what stopping company from faking those e-mark too?
Do kastam have strict checks for these type of products?

if possible, spend the money on a removable padding helmet... its so worth it when it comes to cleaning. (the new Givi M35.0 is sexy af)

non removables will take multiple days to dry... and u have to put it proper side up so the water can drip out of the helmet.. instead of upside down where the water will pool right smack in the middle and take longer to dry...which is more time needed for the helmet to stink up again....

also dont put the helmet in the sun. the heat from our sun is more than enough to melt some glues thats on the helmet thats holding some parts together.

dont ask me how i know hahahaha
*
givi m35.0 padding is more comfortable than my hjc i90 laugh.gif
really showed me that I shouldn't look down on cheaper helmet

actually....speaking of modulars.... what are good full carbon fiber modulars?

was looking at AGV Sportmodular but harga kayangan
HJC Rpha90s carbon is also interesting but i already have the normal Rpha90. plus i cant seem to find the price locally...dunno still have or not since now its Rpha91 series

apa lagi ada? cheaper ones like Zeus pun ada kan? ok ke?
*
saw the zeus one in shopee, pretty cheap.. need to find shop to test
thats probably the cheapest one so far.

others like nexx, hjc, ls2 all around same price for carbon flip up

since we are still on the topic of modulars.... whats a good cheap modular?

need something that has..
- SIRIM or ECE cert to be street legal
- good comfort of course
- inner sun visor
- micrometric strap

better to have but not necessary
- flat black solid colour (a bit of red accents here n there is fine)
- has black face shield to purchase
- speaker pockets is a bonus but not necessary.
n by cheap i mean CHEAP..like around RM3-400 cheap...abit more oso can consider....local or even uncommon brands oso can consider. wanna buy for my GF who rarely rides with me... not even once a month.... so dun wanna spend so much on something rarely worn
*
just give her givi m35.0.. since she rarely rides she might hate full face helmet also. laugh.gif
can cover the face with balaclava to avoid bugs flying into her face

but for flipup I think zeus 3050 fit your budget

Shark Spartan gt  carbon RM2000
Shark spartan gt pro carbon RM2400

Shoei gt air 2 RM2400

Anyone would get the shark gt carbon over the shoei? Both feels very high quality.
*
https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...ost&p=108750671

I got the gt carbon. Comfort wise its nice.
But wind noise protection not that good.
Make sure to wear earplug. 150-160+ kmh got whistling + wind noise after a while.
Can close the vents to avoid it but gonna be hot.

Shoei padding is definitely more comfortable and premium.

hi all, want to ask, i'm using shark spartan rs, should the helmet padding be wet after a rain? i realize mine is not only wet for the bottom part, its like the whole helmet padding is wet too, i have my air vents closed before rain
*
I use shark spartan gt pro carbon, similar design with spartan rs and no leak when under rain.
Usually I keep the mouth vent open even during rain, no wet inside. Just around the neck and chin area because of rain splashing.

thats weird... mine tend to be wet for the paddings inside, understandable for the chin and bottom of the helmet part
*
Best way see if theres any leaking is pour water when your helmet is dry.
Try pouring on the top opening for sliding inner visor.

im looking for open face helmet that is good with ventilation and the least wind noise.. anyone used soumy speedjet? any review or should i go for shoei j cruise?
*
open face and least wind noise isnt something that you can really find... because you know, open face and all.

default open face that I think everyone should consider is givi m35, its cheap and have all the safety rating

but if your budget is willing to spend for a shoei j cruise why not go for full face?
shark citycruiser is the 'fullest' open face helmet i've ever seen
