Get a full face helmet, and an ECE rated one.

The riding school helmet, you might lose your chin. Getting a non full face Bilmola, you gonna lose your chin too. So why bother?
*
eh no, the bilmola is a full face, im looking for full face helmets (unless i got the wrong model)

this is an example, theres some special editions released at the moment. full face ece rated afaik

Good. But best to try it in person.

I like HJC specs and graphics, but when trying it on in various sizes it just didn't agree with my head shape. HJC is a no go for me. Remember you want it to fit snug. Mine was either snug with pressure points on my ears and forehead, or its too loose. So no joy for me.
*
oh for sure, will go and try in person, just dont know if the brand if reliable/decent... previously was only looking at agv/hjc, but seems like kyt and this bilmola seem popularish

I see, thanks guys for the idea. I only bought those foam spray, directly spray on it and wipe it clean then let it dry, but the result is not really satisfactory. I shall remove the inner padding to wash it separately. Need to check if those inner paddings can be removed to wash or not. i think the school/academy helmet (Xdot) may not be removable to wash though.
*
ah u must be a metro student i assume? no its not removable

yes, i went together with a cool dude who has the exact same initial as you too  tongue.gif
nvm la, just try to clean as much as i can, otherwise gonna discard it if the smell is unbearable.
yup, maybe need multiple wash/spray to clean, once is not enough and yeah, it sort of masking the odour only with some artificial lemon smell etc. so it is still best to use detergent to soak it a bit and clean it, more effective that way.
*
aish, this is u ke.... belum tukar helmet lel, now got time liao, got to find a place to try hjc helmets

For HJC, you can try NKS@sentul. They are the Malaysian distributor for HJC. They supply to other dealers also.

Can try BikeEmpire@OKR or iCity Motoworld Shah Alam.

If you find the helmet you like, try to find same helmet from shopee and same seller. Then go back to the shop and ask them to match the online price. I did that with iCity where I got my RPHA70. Saved 500. As it turned out, it was cheaper than online, since I don't have to pay 27bux worth of shipping.

If you are already there, stop by hodaka and try the Scorpion helmets. Actually quite good value helmet as well.

too many brands way too many models, already tried some bilmolas and the kyt tt corse, keep fogging the visor...

hjc is another one, way too many models and i cant even tell what the general differences are... c10, c71, c90, i91... mygod, doesnt seem like they saperate nicely into i or c category

For HJC, C series is entry level. I and F series is mid level. RPHA is top range.

The *90 range,  is modular. *70 is sport touring.

At least they simplified it somewhat...it was even more convoluted previously.

Can't blame them. They are the world's largest helmet manufacturer.
*
ahhh thankyou.... noone could tell me what the differences were.

i thoght like bilmola, even the seller said cannot explain and said aesthetics and fitment

wah, howcome the rpha series is so hefty? just got the chance to test the i90 and c91 dua dua around 1450g.

very torn between the 2. honestly aside from the i90 being quieter, i honestly dont really feel that they are very diferent.

hjc i90 size M is around 1700g
you start feeling the weight when you are moving your head around or after long riding session
*
oh god.. u guys are right.. sorry i think i was thinking of the c71's weight. Also tried that but honestly the wearing glasses its just a chore wearing the fullface helmets

still really wana try the caberg but even lsh doesnt have the sizes i need for testing

It says 1900g with optional equipment, not too sure what exactly are the optional equipments. I thought the comms is optional equipment so it is 1850g without the comms?

Guess I'll be buying an XL when I get the HJC then. Hopefully it won't be too late into 2024 when the 91 carbon is launched here. Can't wait for the reviews to come out.
Usually when coming to a stop at a traffic light, I will enter neutral before reaching the light and use either hand to open up my chin bar and rarely do I open the visor.

For the comms, no choice as every manufacturer is doing it. But you'll still be able to jerry rig an external comms no problem, just the placement of the main unit need some experimenting.
I think pretty much all helmets with the new ece 22.06 had became fatter and heavier
Did you try the sportmodular? Super lightweight but damn it chokes me to death.
*
modulars only tried the i90 and c91... forgot to try the c10 after realizing the modulars was so easy to deal with.

Hehe...the older rpha 10, 11 and 70 helmets some have manufacturing dates way back to 2017. HJC Malaysia unfortunately also brought in a bunch of helmets just before COVID and these remain unsold.

NKS/HJC Malaysia is very stubborn in terms of dropping pricing for the older stock..but now has no choice since the newer 22.06 helmets are out.

My rhpa 70 is a 2017 bought in 2021 ..so it's been on storage for 4 years before I bought it. The vinyl liner trims all deteriorated but was replaced under warranty. The EPS and comfort liner was still good...so whatever defect is just cosmetic. Paid 1500 for it though (500 off retail price back then....so can't complain), it's still a very good helmet though..and for 1500 ...can't really get a better helmet for that price.

I still see them selling rapha 70s for 1500 now....even after the 71 has been released selling for 2k.
*
rpha 10 was about 400, rpha 70 under 500, rpha 11 1k+but all in limited stock and limited sizes. its was all old stock, without the pinlock/spare visors, no warranty, but according to them all are warehouse stored stock and will be safe, ust that the paint and the fabric is peeling. oklah so cheap can pakai 2-3 years also cannot complain.

helmets are buy and use items

those in storage after they were used, will deteriorate faster than those getting used more often
those in storage brand new, usually have liner surface peeling at the bottom
*
yep stored units, the liner surface macam cracking. also saw that they use a matte coating and one of them was going abit sticky.

they still have the tags/booklets on them

Damn....why rpha90s carbon not on the sale list?
*
those with actual carbon finishing... i think only the rpha 11

rpha 90 i think fairly recent kan, old stock clearance. i went back thinking of getting an fg70 just as a spare to toss about. visor hits my glasses, so its a no go

Hmmm ...500 for a rpha 70? Buy for spare parts also can.

Just the ori visor, internal sunvisor and visor mechanism alone cost more than 500.
*
less... like 410 or so... i wanted that till i tested the old rpha10... so light
