Was about to ask the same question. I had an i71 but the helmet was designed for their HJC Comm System and the clip don't seem to fit that good.

I never bothered about those custom built comm system like those designed by Shoei or HJC, and they partner with Cardo / Sena. Only thing good about them is they are flushed within the helmet.

I just stick the comms outside.

For helmet cam, I had been procrastinating on getting one.

You mean the base ?

I use the epoxy paste to make the customized based to stick the GoPro mount onto the helmet surface (shape).
Because of the curvaceous is not the same as the GoPro mount base, I have to customise it.
If I just rely on double tape, it will eventually drop.

Helmet cam
Get action cam

Either one of these two will be very good
Cheaper and better than GoPro in some way
Insta360 one RS , about rm1200
DJI osmo action3, about rm1600

If wanna make high quality content for utub etc ok la those cams...but for normal dvr purposes kinda videos, can just get SJ4000 AIR and get this case from AliExpress

https://a.aliexpress.com/_mO8NzTG

Has dvr loop function, Good image quality, stabilization depends on ur head, n with that case, can charge while riding..even if its raining (if u setup the other end of the cable to be water proof)...no need to buy multiple batteries or change batteries every hour 😁

Why would you want to mount Insta360 at helmet chin?
Ain't that kinda wasteful for a 360 camera?

True
My first action cam was a scam sj8 pro
Good stuff.

If want budget can consider sj11 active. About rm600+.

Only downside is the 150deg fov
Would prefer wider like sj8 pro , 170deg fov

No. Standard package you will not get the 360 lens.
You need to swap out the standard lens to the 360 to do 360 recording.
Rm1200 is without the 360 lens..
If you want 360 you need to get the twins pack

Biggest problem is that the batteries don't last very long on these, requiring you to either plug them into the USB port or manually charge them off the bike every night (if you ride to work). And it's such a faff having to remember to switch them on and off every time you ride. Worse is if you mount them on the bike, coz you also need to take them off and screw them back on too coz they're thief magnets.

The whole point of having a DVR is so that it can switch on, record and switch off automatically without you even thinking about it.

Me, I just want to hop on my bike, thumb the starter button and eff off. Anything that gets in the way of this process is a no-go.

And if you do get into an accident, and if you are incapacitated, the cam will be the first thing that gets stolen from your bike.

Well some find more uses for action cams......and usually the image quality is better.

For me simple, dvr for safety purpose, install a proper hardwired dvr, even have rear camera which your action cam don't have. Action cam only if you intend to post it online due to the higher quality or POV, but not practical to be used daily due to memory, battery life and potentially going missing when you get into a real accident

This is one of the reason why I have two sets of cameras

Helmet cam ( action cam)
Bike dashcam ( one of the reason I install this is to have a rear camera ).

look at the e-mark on the strap...even official documentation for ece legality in malaysia only refers to the e-mark and not the ece sticker on the rear.

example of tag here: https://www.bikesrepublic.com/wp-content/up...t-1-696x522.jpg

note that actually helmet visors also need to have their own e-mark to be street legal...but this is usually not enforced or ppl dont even know about it.

I see.. but what stopping company from faking those e-mark too?
Do kastam have strict checks for these type of products?
