Hi all sifu,

Any helmet to recommend??? Currently using a free helmet from shop and perkeso…

Both are 60cm and will make me headache after 15 minutes ride because too small and crushing my skull…

Tried Zeus open face XXL also same feeling…

Any recommendation for fullface around 400 to 600???

For your budget range you can try HJC CS-15 which also fits my wider head pretty well when those brand you mentioned failed even with their XXL.

Noob question: my head is 55-56cm, so usually fall under S by helmet manufacturers. Since helmet usually available from M onwards, how do you fill in the gaps? More padding?

First point, measuring circumference is super general as shape of head is more important factor.

Secondly, most helmet manufacturers make only two shell sizes and use different thickness padding to create different size.

You can go to helmet shops that does custom fitting. One of them is HJC, the other Shoei.

HJC has budget friendly range.

For HKC, You can go WeBikeToday, they have showroom at KTM showroom Old Klang Road

I am now on the lookout for a small open-faced helmet. Some might call them a 'steng' helmet that could fit into the under seat of a Vespa.

I am really keen on either HJC i40, AGV Orbyt or Shark Nano. Am not sure if these could fit into the under seat compartment.

Recommendations other that those 3 above is very much appreciated before I take the plunge. Thanks

Gringo is a full face helmet, right? Doubt that it could fit into the under seat compartment.

Depends on ur vespa model

250/300cc models can hold 2 helmets but too shallow even for some jet models

Primavera/sprint can fit a Givi M.30.2 n M30.3 just nice (tested M size so far)

U can always go to the shop, ask to try but with the protector clothes all round

Place it in n gently close the seat

If unable to, immediately stop to prevent scratches n try other models perhaps

It's one of the slimmest and smallest full face helmet. Go test it lor. Assuming you don't have an XXXL head.

I've tested Grayfosh (?) JF3 helmet and in can fit. But it doesn't have Size S (56cm).

Sifus, seeking to replace my trusty ol 5 years old HJC IS MAX II. Any recommendation? Or is i90 good enough? Looking for modular. If can, lightweight. But I guess, with a budget of around rm1.5k, can't really go lower than about 1.7kg, right?

I'm using HJC i90 for long ride.. Have been using for 2+ months.
M size weight around 1.7kg, when first time wearing have some tight issue around head temple and cheek area but after break in it fits without issue.
You'll get used to the weight after some time IMO.

The vents provided are enough to give you air to your head.
Depending on your tolerance to wind noise you might need an earplug.

1.5k is a decent budget... i bought my HJC Rpha 90 for around 1.4k during promo last time.. u could try find one in case somewhere has old stock.

Lazer MH6 at LSH Racing World is around 1550g for L. ive never tried it but its something you could look into. they also have caberg helmets, i think the Caberg Droid is the modular they have there now. some AGVs as well... but AGVs will be expensive obviously.

Zeus is around your budget if want lightweight... I forgot the model, but it's CF flip up.. But personally I would have save 1k more for Rpha 90s.. If getting heavier ones, yes you will get used to it in times.. But it will never be as comfy as lighter one.. I'm going from 1.7+ kg modular to 1.4kg Fullface.. I would never want to go back heavy.. sweat.gif

Yeap, that's why I'm still sticking to my modular for daily commute only.. Longer distance will definitely be on my full face.. It's actually time to upgrade my modular already, either it will be CF, or no change.. No point of getting heavier ones.. Still saving anyway.. Haha.. sweat.gif By the way, I think types of bikes play big role too.. For scooter or touring bikes might feel less difference as they are more upright.. For us who slightly tilt forward or sport bikes, the difference is very obvious..
