QUOTE(kazexx @ Apr 7 2020, 05:39 PM) Hi LYN, Yes, new TVs are already built-in with DVB-T2, so for that one, no need to worry. i recently purchased a TV, Samsung nu7090 which i believe build in dvbt2 however i failed to scan any channel, tried googling but failed, do i need to purchase antenna? i lived in condo, not sure if the wall.socket is work or not, or my setup is wrong im using this cable https://shopee.com.my/product/45285202/4504054968?smtt=0.0.9 and plug to.wall.socket here ![]() please help By right it is correct, but whether you condo's MATV system (centralised antenna) supports digital TV or not, that's another story. Contact your building management about this, if you still couldn't get digital TV channels. Otherwise, buy a UHF antenna (which you can find it easily on Shopee/Lazada). Btw, what is your area and state? |

QUOTE(joshhd @ Mar 28 2020, 08:34 PM) Can also. an updated for my issue. the issue resolved after i bought this small indoor antenna. ThanksOr, you can also opt for a short outdoor antenna. Since it is small, you can even place it indoors or near your TV (treat it like indoor antenna), and the price is quite okok: https://shopee.com.my/TD-5E-DIY-Thaisat-Dig...1901.6309798798 https://shopee.com.my/Digital-Antenna-UHF-H...38079.313253815 But, what's your area and state? QUOTE(kikilalat @ Apr 8 2020, 12:59 PM) This small and cheap antenna is suitable only if you're living very close to the TV transmitter, and may not work well if you live slightly further away or has big obstacle like mountain blocking the signal. Anyway, glad to hear that you're now able to receive digital TV signals |

You only need to be able to see one of the three Klang Valley transmitters.
If you can see Menara KL, you should get enough signal for an indoor aerial. Wangsa Maju and Melawati cannot see any of the three. |

Meanwhile in Singapore...
QUOTE Mediacorp will extend the transmission hours for both Mediacorp Suria and Mediacorp Vasantham channels with immediate effect today (8 Apr). Oh well, they should just consider keep airing programmes 24/7 on all Mediacorp channels whenever possible. During this period, both channels will start transmission from 9.00am daily, and offer a spectrum of entertaining and engaging content for audiences. On Suria or meWATCH.sg/Suria, fans will be able to catch dramas, telemovies, kids programmes as well as info-ed and current affairs programmes. On Vasantham or meWATCH.sg/Vasantham, viewers can look forward to additional variety programmes, local telemovies and a range of movie offerings, from local movies in Tamil, to Hindi and regional movies. #StayHomeWithMe #SGUnited #StrongerTogether After all, all of their TV channels is already on air 24/7. |

QUOTE(joshhd @ Apr 8 2020, 04:13 PM) Meanwhile in Singapore... Technically, these channels are available 24/7, but however nowadays more than 60% content on Channel 8 all day (and 100% off peak except news services on 9am and 1pm) are repeats and had even introduce shopping shows. Also that Channel U has become partial shopping channel with 6 hours shopping weekdays and 4 hour shopping weekdays (Channel U now only have 3-4 hour of new programming daily). This is not to mention that Channel 5 and Okto had merged last year onto a single channel. So longer broadcast times meant much more repeats for these channels.Oh well, they should just consider keep airing programmes 24/7 on all Mediacorp channels whenever possible. After all, all of their TV channels is already on air 24/7. |

At UHF frequencies line of sight is critical. TV transmitters use fairly high power, but the signal won't go round corners. If you live in a condo near KLCC, but on the wrong side of the building, you may only be a km or so from Menara KL, but your signal is only reflections of other buildings. You then end up with reasonable signal strength but a poor signal quality. This is why your decoder has two scales.

But it is mostly useless for me la, just for watching news + mostly HDMI. Hope you get your items within 7 days la, there had been slow down on seller sending the package or lack of people picking up packages, so they bulk pick up the packages once there is enough orders, take like 7-14 days now, except the seller go to pos office and send the package instead of waiting for pickup. QUOTE(kazexx @ Apr 11 2020, 02:10 PM) welp i purchased this antenna, not sure good enough or not Bonefish antenna? the bonefish i not sure how to attach in my.condo ![]() This is a thing of the past... now outdoor antenna are smaller already actually and VHF are no longer in use after ASO ![]() Now antenna can get as small as this( this one can be used indoor and outdoor.. primarily designed for outdoor), easy to install too( can just put on top of bookshelf also can as long as you can get a decent signal ) and it works better(for me) than that old fishbone antenna(that fishbone antenna gives Astro rain fade issues even when it's not raining) Hope that your antenna works fine for you This post has been edited by yongtjunkit: Apr 11 2020, 03:25 PM |
