QUOTE(TaiGoh @ Sep 22 2023, 12:49 AM) Anyone managed to create recurring investment for CSPX? I tried it just now but it shows "You cannot create a recurring investment for CSPX at LSEETF.". QUOTE(Avangelice @ Oct 24 2023, 09:24 AM) Did a little research on cspx and found out it reinvest dividends. This suits my needs for what I intend to do with the money which is my son's studies. So much to learn and discover good news, CSPX has fractional shares support now |

Interesting (and important) research to share (use a paywall bypass plugin): https://www.ft.com/content/3859b6e0-c80e-4f...b7-eb528ab9e262 The research paper is available here: https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.108...8X.2023.2268556 QUOTE Investors find it hard to escape the framing that historical returns provide. But extrapolation carries dangers. “Stocks today are poised to offer long-term patient investors a risk premium of 1-2 per cent,” Arnott tells me. “This could be easily wiped out by poor policy choices.” This post has been edited by TOS: Dec 13 2023, 06:16 PM lamode liked this post

QUOTE(TOS @ Nov 15 2023, 07:23 AM) *To save on further FX charges, you can purchase stocks using RSP method once the money is in your IBKR cash account, but set to one time purchase only. In the case of US shares, your SGD will be exchanged to say USD at market rate without the usual 2 USD charges if you buy via the RSP method. if i decide to liquidate my stocks manually, will IBKR reconvert those auto-converted $$ back into SGD (with or without U$2 charge)? trying to find valid documentation online but there seems to be none |

The money is already in USD, the shares are in USD... why would they convert back to SGD... But you better check with Hoshiyuu as the info ultimately comes from him. I haven't touched risky assets for some time already... |

Liquidate = selling your stock, you get currency back according to your stock's currency denomination. For me, since I exclusively buy USD denominated stuff, I get USD back, no auto convert. TOS liked this post

QUOTE(AgoNi @ Dec 26 2023, 03:30 PM) Hey guys just want to ask how you guys buy shares if IBKR does not provide real-time data in the stock market? Unless you are trading then you need real time data. You can slash Google the stock you want to buy, put a limit order at the price you would like to buy and set a GTC order. It will never be filled unless the piece hit that limit. That's how I queue at lower pricesAlternatively you can buy at market price. Second alternative, open up tiger and use tiger to get real time data. You can use investing.com/trading view. For me, I don't even bother about real time data. I alway set my order as GTC and let it sit there for months. |

I alway set my order as GTC and let it sit there for months. Or, IBKR will charge the usual trading commission, only when the price reaches the price that we set? In other words, in term of the trading commission charged by IBKR, there is no difference between Good-Til-Cancelled (GTC) order, and Limit Order (which expires at the end of the trading day), right?
