Denied boarding? In Malaysia?

Or denied entering at Perth airport?

Why would they check you before boarding? Before entering seems more logical

first thing to do on this kind of situation....
talk nicely to the officer.

I once kena hold by airline security, pilot, and stewardess cause they let me in with e ticket.
then the airline manager chase me, and I turn around and asked to present my ticket. lucky I blur blur and show to them. and security, pilot, and air stewardess surrounded me. then I asked what's the issue? they said actually u should have a physical ticket only you can board the plane. I'm like ahh ok.. so what should I do? u just stand here , ok smile.gif smiling. then the stewardess print a ticket for me and apologies to me. I apologies and then said thanks to them. the manager smile and wish me a safe flight. sooo lesson is, u make them comfortable they make u comfortable

actually TS is a fool, carrying only AUS350 is insufficient, you need accomodation, food, travelling cost etc.

unless you can show proof that hotels paid, etc, is is logic of them to stop you

moreover, TS english is lousy, that indicates their education level is low and chances of them jumping ship once arriving is very high

seriously, 350 is really not enough.

definitely denied boarding
if u have taken flights to japan before, theres a black shirt security(not sure call what) will check your passport before u enter the gate or plane
they will ask u some simple question before letting u through

but having malaysian passport, they'll be more easy..more strict if holding other nation's passport

but i think AUS issue is that, they're scared u jump plane
so need to ask /k/tard that lives in AUS is AUD350 enough

japan is expensive but many people only bring less than RM2k worth of yen there..budget trip
and japan no such rule need minimum cash entry

i think it's because of the jump plane issue
but i think if they can produce the receipt for accommodation and tickets to places they're visiting or car rental booking...they "should" let u through

Thanks for the info.
Haiz... Terrible and sad.
Aus see us as Bangala.

What to do....the government have no intention to improve the country.

Education produce quality students
Quality students produce quality and performance work
More companies want to setup in MY
Economics improve
More Malaysian are intellectual
Malaysian speaks good English
Ringgit become stronger
Other countries respect us
Foreigner have interested to learn BM

Its no easy task but Education are the core engine of nation success to get respect from other nations.

Every day I watching this series on crime channel....border protection. Showing how Aussie airport immigration work.

Even when you bring money which they feel cannot sustain your number of days/weeks holiday there, they will question you and have the right to kick you home.

Don't play play with Aussie authority. They are not like our immigration in airports.

definitely denied boarding
if u have taken flights to japan before, theres a black shirt security(not sure call what) will check your passport before u enter the gate or plane
they will ask u some simple question before letting u through

but having malaysian passport, they'll be more easy..more strict if holding other nation's passport

but i think AUS issue is that, they're scared u jump plane
so need to ask /k/tard that lives in AUS is AUD350 enough
*

actually 1000 aud is only needed when you are traveling for a long duration, say 1 month.

But on the other hand, if you were traveling alone i would have brought at least 500 aud and another 500 usd for contingency.

It is a fact that it is expensive to travel in Australia.

You bring money then keep the money in your hotel safe instead of bringing it all out for shopping, that is common sense.

Business owner outside of MY frequently deny credit card from MY due to credit card fraud.

actually 1000 aud is only needed when you are traveling for a long duration, say 1 month.

But on the other hand, if you were traveling alone i would have brought at least 500 aud and another 500 usd for contingency.

It is a fact that it is expensive to travel in Australia.
*
B4 this I always bring minimum 1000usd everywehere I go. But now like no need. Even massage happy ending can use cc. Lel. But I still bring a lil bit usd.

biasa la. malaysians r infamous for overstaying and working illegally in australia.

that n the fact that australians r very xenophobic towards the non whites. tak kisah la cina ke, melei ke, indon ke, prc ke..

usually the immigration officers will randomly choose n question travellers. if ur answer is not satisfactory, they will automatically deny ur access.

better prepare full travel documentations lor. like ur receipts for bookings, where r u planning to stay, etc etc.

Almost the same thing happened to me when I traveled to the UK last time.

You better have proof of everything: Your return ticket, hotels/accommodations for every day, and sufficient cash for every day. It is better if you speak good English and have at least a vague idea of what you plan to do in the UK.

We don't have the full story. If this awek only bring AUD 350 for 5 days, don't have any accommodations booked, can't show return ticket and only going to Australia 100% relying on CC, then it might be reasonable to reject.

Last time when I went Japan on AAX promo ticket also got these local backpacker looking type.
They loaded their backpack plus another backpack, if AAX strict, sure need to pay extra luggage.

These are the ones that bring bad names, most likely book Airbnb write 2 adults, but later check in with 4adult 1 kid.
Never buy travel insurance if got any problem that time got into medical emergency or accident then upcar consulate need to come in to help.

I think illegal fruit pickers from Malaysia mostly Malay guys, not Chinese. Malaysian Chinese mostly work illegally in restaurants.

Surprisingly many Taiwan and Hong Kong youngsters work both legally and illegally in Australian farms and chicken factories.

Jump to 2:07 to look at the passport:

Both Taiwan and Hong Kong youngsters no future, prefer to be slaves rather than go to China to work. Don't like China because China got no freedom but work as slaves got freedom?

I find London stricter than Syd/Melb. London immigration wanted my detailed itinerary, even when i told them i'm coming for graduation and visiting my aunt. Syd/Melb was ok last year but i've heard more horror stories of Perth.

I guess the way we speak and dress also plays a part. My sister goes like a homeless person/bagpacker mode and always gets stopped until she has to show them her qualification or professional memberships biggrin.gif

I have my debit card rejected before in Germany and Denmark but I think that is isolated case, lucky I was there for work so I have most of my expenses covered and I get paid in Euro.

That is why I started applying for credit card and always have multiple widely accepted currency (mostly USD and SGD) on me now when traveling.

Hehe not really.

I got a friend (guy) who is Chindian. Mother Chinese.

So my friend travelling with his mother and sister. Mother and sister lepas easy. No question asked.

Come his turn, many questions. They hold him for about half hour.

I guess because he has bit of mustache +beard + dark skin (indian genes), so they suspect him. No bin in his name. Speaks English just fine.

Friend was pissed but who ask him to not shave beard and mustache.

It's undeniably racist and somewhat illegal

But hey that's the way it is

I've seen those profilers stand around and question people
*
I dont think its illegal.

Immigration officers have the right to block your entry. Im not sure oz klia officer is part of immigration officer or not, but thats the gist.

And US border control is worse than oz.

Its your bad day. And nothing you can do about it.

*
Yeah. Bring usd indeed convenience. Mostly place straightaway accept it. No need to convert into local currency. But that is if someone so lazy like me. Will rugi on exchange rate like that. Lol.

KLIA2 ada aussie border patrol. KLIA Main Terminal tarak..

cash requirement just 1000$/month. problem here they are not prepared enough. printed itinerary and hotel booking plus creditcard/debit card. lucky that officer doesn't screen their phone.. otherwise lagi pening.

Got one time kena one oz dude asking for my money because he's hungry. I refused to give him any and I offered him KFC. Sombong said don't want it. Then I enjoy alone my KFC. Saw a cinis family bought KFC for the SAME ANGMOH GUY. But the angmoh got angry at the family because he actually didn't want KFC. Fuckin ungrateful piece of shit I must say. It is not VISA BTW, it is just electronic travel authorisation, and despite having business visa, they still can deny entry at their sole discretion

Blame fellow malaysians. Was stopped together with 2 malaysians in one of the eastern europe country. Just 3 of us Malaysians. I managed to leave after showing some documents, but the couple was asked to go to the interrogation room. Later on I asked a Malaysian official, what's that about..apparently just last month got case involving several Malaysians. Overstaying if not mistaken.

They haven't even filled in their arrival card yet so they have no idea what the girls had on them. So this is a preemptive check. Must be on the hunt for potential fruitpickers which is popular among fresh grads and young adults.

It was many years ago. Arrived at sydney airport, at immigration counter the officer look again and again between my passport and my face. Lost some weight back then but the change was very subtle. Asked me to follow him to a different place - counter terrorist station.

Got all finger prints taken, photo from different angle taken, interrogated with bizarre questions such as:

- did you learn chemistry in uni?
- during chemistry subject, did you learn in any way to make explosive?
- did you have any experience in making IED?
- did you have any experience using firearms?

The officers were professional in conduct but look serious. Answered with straight face though. At the end, they stamped my passport and let me pass through.

350AUD 1 person too sikit lah. 3 days also tak cukup actually.

Perth has its charms and slow pace city. Had a time with sniffing dog during entry. Unless these group want to eat apple strudel x 5 days x 25 AUD 4 pipul share, better to be stopped here in KLIA vs kena send back from Perth to Kl.

Then have to travel to Freo eat Fish and Chips how many AUD lagi. Or go places. Plus these folks don't minum arak or go to vineyards.

But we were not bodo to bring just 350aud per person lah. Apakah logic.

Yes, no such minimum cash entry boarding. But about 5 years ago (before they removed visa), one of the visa requirements is to have rm6k in bank statement, among other things .i.e. self-employed proof doc/employment letter, trip itinerary, etc.

Its not about the money. When you apply for an Australian ETA, they would have already flag you for checking, especially if they suspect any issues with your documents.

US Visa applicants soon need to provide their social media details during application, so will not be surprised if Australia is already doing it - and with the massive number of abuse from Malaysia, its no surprise that they have decided to do the checking at KLIA itself.

The story doesn't add up..... obviously one sided....

The money is just a red herring....they profile from behaviour, not cash.....I usually just have AUD50 for emergency.....lol

The USA has been profiling travellers and checking at boarding for years.....

Don't know Australia to do that.....but with the current statistics of plane jumpers from msia, I am not surprised.....

They have lately started to reject ETA applications, something unheard before.....and they do regularly profile people on arrival and turn back some.....but doing so before boarding is new.....

There is also a possibility they may remove msia from the ETA program.....too many abuses....and put msia with most of Asia requiring a formal application for visa.....which is a bummer as I travel there 2-3 times a year....

Sometime suay also cant help, kena bad mood officer and its up to them for whatever reason they can deny entry also.
However based on my experience , the officer only want see cold hard cash, they wont bother if you show 9 digits bank balance in mobile banking and still insist cash requirements. No withdrawal allowed also.

Looking at the original tweet, I suspect they probably fumbled on their explanation that caused discrepancy in their story, hence generating suspicion.

However based on my experience , the officer only want see cold hard cash, they wont bother if you show 9 digits bank balance in mobile banking and still insist cash requirements. No withdrawal allowed also.

Actually, hirano's experience is interesting....they obviously realised many try to escape scrutiny by travelling through 3rd country.....spore being an obvious transit point.....and actually checking people travelling to Singapore.....

Sadly, thats the harsh truth for muslims who wanna go aus.

Aus is very very strict nowadays. Every single damn thing will ask.

Besides 350aud is way too little for 1 person. Stuff in aus is so damn expensive even b4 convert.

A damn beef burger costs aud 14

Not really. It is kinda justified anyway. I think their problem is money, story and planning kinda suspicious. Alot of muslim able to come and go holiday there with no problem. If not , everyday got the same kind of news.

Just chat with ex airasia ground staff..pax usually will be screen from the beginning after check in. In this case, past historical records such as previous oversea trips among one aspects that will be examine. All this by profiling aussie embassy

Season traveller usually no problem. If passport kosong then big problem. Another red flag:

- Groups of young people
- Backpakers style
- Dont have concrete working evidence
- Less money/No credit card/Weak financial strength
- No idea of journey/itinerary

I think there is a reason why this girls cannot go there. Got so many destination in this world, why suddenly go there. If they are a season traveller, according to my friends, chances to being denied is quite low.

I believe some of them, passport is empty which make them looks like the one who want to pick a fruit, not the tourist.

Easiest is traveling with family. No second look from any immigration authorities (japan, south korea, china, uk, almost all european countries, usa, canada, middle east, africa & australia). The only question asked is how many days will stay. No other questions asked.

I never knew the existence of any profiler at boarding areas before reading this thread. Imho, any type of “profiling” is subjected to prejudice.. so, too bad..

Yeah, u want this one off trip to become fruit picker. At least, that is the case with past offender from malaysia. So entry denied

why Australia cannot be my first destination?

U can of course, but record say out of 10, 9 with first entry aussie destination work as a fruit picker. So entry denied

why cannot backpack? many angmo do that in Asia and Europe.

U can backpack. But with only 350. Come on, one burger already can fetch up to 20 australian dollar. So after 350 gone, u must go become fruit picker right. So entry denied

Why must have itinerary? YOLO cannot meh? Cannot decide my travel plans after I arrive?  icon_idea.gif  icon_idea.gif

This one straightaway denied entry
*
Bolded is what they aussie representative thinking.

Btw, why u asking above question?. U never go oversea trip b4 🤔🤔?.

Fyi, passport empty is not passport on the book. Its passport in the database. If u apply new passport of course la passport will be empty, but all ur previous entry and exit country will exist in the database. What I means by passport empty is the one who never travel overseas b4.

You can using new passport, just that more chances the immigration officer will ask you more questions if he/she suspect about potential overstay, if you cannot give good and straight answer, they can deny you entry

It's not new/empty passport that's the problem....it's 1st trip to Oz.....

They have records of all your past visits.....even if you have new passport, they know how many times before with previous passports....unless you change name.....but with biometrics, they can still match up with previous identities....

if
1)They got itinerary with hotel booked
2)They have credit card

Definitely is the immigration officer fault!

Years back i brought AUD350 too.

IF they made this decision simply due to many malaysian pick fruit there, i can say they are damn racist.

Also, i personally think the way you dress at the airport somehow play a role here. I understand for red eye flight, most people wear their sleeping attire for flight. Since we have heard these kind of stories, dress appropriately to avoid being falsely profiled. we all know how the white see us as inferior race, so, dress well to mitigate that

How is that racist?.....statistics shows msians make up the most plane jumpers....the law allows then to refuse entry to anyone they consider a risk to country. ..democracy does not apply to foreigners....you cannot vote.....

It's the same in all countries....msia do the same to other nationals eg Bangla indons.....

Nothing to do with racism....

If travel to both countries above still poor command of english, cannot enter meh?

Suddenly travel to australia, need high level of english, sightseeing dont need high level. Heck, no hablo ingles also is fine.

Next step is to remove ETA. Then all these jump aeroplane problems can be mitigated to an extent.

That's what I am afraid they will do....there is just too much abuses ongoing with the ETA.... Makes things difficult for everyone else....

That's why I support these security measures, and no sympathy for those profiled and rejected....you can see in reality TV border security, how some arrivals behave.....if I am the officer, i will also reject.....

Both also not , wrong, the immigration has right to deny entry, and I believe they fit the profile somebody that will work illegally. Just blame the fruit picker.

I'm just surprised that Australian immigration went to the extent of stationing personnel at KLIA.

Regarding border security, they must cherry pick the worst people for that show. It is reality TV after all.

I had a look at this girls twitter and if she's telling the truth she had accomodation for 5 nights, the lady did not deign to look at their itinerary according to her and lied about them only having 1 night of accomodation.

Also, she was singled out before hand by Air asia ground staff first and sent for further investigation. I wonder why.

That's why I said we don't have the full picture and obviously something triggered the profiling.....

I am also surprised they screen at boarding now....never noted this before....

But already 3 years ago, Oz immigration already said they are reviewing ETA for msia due to abuses.....so this may be a temporary measure until they remove msia from the ETA program....

Aussie immigration does screen before boarding. Been like that for years, even when I first traveled to Australia more than 10 years ago if not mistaken. They are stationed just after the airline check your boarding pass, just before you enter waiting area to board. They will scrutinize you and your passport.

Then you apply for visa like most of Asia.....like applying for us visa....show proof of real visit and why you are likely to leave after....and in some cases, medical examination....the usual visa allows only one visit.....

The ETA is electronic, no questions asked right to initiate travel, valid for 1 year, multiple entries up to 3 months stay each....open to select asian countries like Japan, Singapore, HK, SK, Brunei.....and Msia.....(also of course open to the developed western world of Europe and North America)....

I never have problems entering any country. That's because I probably bring at least 3-5k of their money for a week or two of holidays I suppose.

One time in America, the immigration asked me how much I'm bringing and I flashed him 10k USD. Probably more than what the dude has in savings.

My last trip to Sydney was a breeze and I had zero AUD. ZERO. I swiped everything, even 0.50 AUD candy.

The fastest immigration I have gone through.
But I also, bought tickets quite early, have a concert to attend to, and have been travelling a bit everywhere.

Pretty sure something else triggered their denied entry.

I remember my wife had a problem with the ETA which did not appear in the system. Lucky I printed out the receipt. They called Canberra for clearance.

why? you see all those "begpackers" articles popping up? yeah, these girls are seen as begpackers.

countries nowadays setup having certain amount of money ON BODY as a requirement to avoid people coming to their country to work/beg etc.

Memang got long time ago.
When you enter the departure lounge/gate, there are those Malaysian officers with red caps taking a closer look at your passport - some microscoping for authenticity, but usually for non-malaysian passport holders.

Then there’s an aussie representative; male or female which does the profiling and questioning. So far just very small talk stuff for me like ‘going for a holiday?’ Or no questions at all, smile and go. Seen families get stopped too, like indian nationals, middle easterns - just based on my observations. Don’t really give a shit.

So yeah, looks normal to me.

Honestly never noticed them around. But its all good for the authentic visitors.

*
Good info. Makes sense. That's why most /ktards here never kena blocked before or didn't even realise got Aussie officers there.

Plus maybe she thought she still in Malaysia. No need to be courteous to the officer. From the way she wrote, kinda really dulan already. It's like she is "entitled" for everything.

In my experience, in every situation, need to be courteous and humble. Cannot lcly. Like kena caught in cheong raid, if talk nice nice to the officers there, may be can let go and no need to go balai.

Coz airbnb we staying at not really close to halal restaurants . So brought along alot of brahims and sharifah packed food from KL and went to woolworths/coles to buy food to cook.

But those food already declared lah at the immigration card. Then immigration officer even joked that must be Brahim's food and let us go without checking the bag

Maybe your Camry expensive coz pickup from one place and drop off to another place kot. I requested a Camry at Melbourne but the rental company got no camry available so got free upgrade to pajero sport latest version

It really depends sometimes on the office, 99 percent of the time I get waved through without checks in most points of entry.

The hardest one and because it's popular with the backpackers is Sydney airport. Dem they ask me a lot of questions, somemore had to get a connecting flight to Darwin.

You need a family to go there.
And a face that doesnt look like a fruit picker.

I was there in Kwinana for a week, hardly spent any money.
Groceries are cheap - cook ownself.
Eating in restaurant was the killer.

from the moment you check in they already know that you are travelling with your family and when they scan your passport during arrival at the immigration the record is already there and they just let you through without questions.

hahaha for me i had problems with their failed facial recognition system during departure... then kena held back to be inspected or rather being used as a test subject on why that thing failed .. must be because it is made by the countless yindian programmers over there laugh.gif So made me beep it like 4 times, all 4 times failed (taking off glasses, combing hair, pull down collar etc) then only proceed to clear me manually.

That why I usually prepare everything before traveling. Open backpack, got everything sorted out, travel itinerary, hotel book printed out etc and wear cloth that have no metal and no belt. Hand luggage is packed for easier xray scan and search and such. biggrin.gif

It really depends sometimes on the office, 99 percent of the time I get waved through without checks in most points of entry.

The hardest one and because it's popular with the backpackers is Sydney airport. Dem they ask me a lot of questions, somemore had to get a connecting flight to Darwin.

i dont remember how much i bring when i went to sydney two years back.

my rule of thumb when go overseas bring rm100/day

so if stay 10 days i would bring rm1000

if tak cukup ada cc to cover

hotel/airbnb semua paid already

from the moment you check in they already know that you are travelling with your family and when they scan your passport during arrival at the immigration the record is already there and they just let you through without questions.

hahaha for me i had problems with their failed facial recognition system during departure... then kena held back to be inspected or rather being used as a test subject on why that thing failed .. must be because it is made by the countless yindian programmers over there laugh.gif  So made me beep it like 4 times, all 4 times failed (taking off glasses, combing hair, pull down collar etc) then only proceed to clear me manually.
*
My wife kena many times until finally fed up and ask them why. They said the system cannot recognize surname with less than 3 letters. Doesn't make any sense to me but is this the case for you?

The main problem with the msian passport is we don't have surnames.... The double chevron is missing (indicating surname).....so if your booking name is slightly different from the passport name (different order), you can get rejected.....that is why I cannot check in online with sq to Oz.... strangely no problem with MH and QF.....

in aussie, speed limit is speed limit. slowest car goes at 100kmh, fastest also 100kmh. so just turn on cruise mode and chill and release the pedal.

You wont face and J plate right signalling behind you or conti and alphart unkers flashing their high beams behind you or lane hoggers driving 80kmh in the middle lane causing you to brake hard. That makes it very relaxing to drive on their highway.... just have avoid falling asleep. laugh.gif

Hmm i go with SQ most of the time (because of krisflyer) and i dont have any issues with the online check in.. despite having issues with my passport on other airlines and some immigration counters before as my name has a hyphen. But i have fixed it by removing that hyphen from my name.

Yeah.

They once looked through my bags and found a receipt for a gun. They said you can't own this in Australia and started making noise....

Jilaka I had to point out the receipt was for a store in Brisbane and unless Queensland Police say so, I can buy as many firearms as I want.
