Unifi air user for past 1 month here. Sharing my experience at my area(Kuala Terengganu)..

Band 40 to be quite poor during evening time(8pm-12am), around 4mbps only. Other time its really fast, I can get like 50-60mbps.

However if I lock to only band 5 during the evening time I can get quite stable 15-20mbps speed.

Ping is bad for gaming though. I get like 500ms playing wow private servers. So I just buy the hotspot rm5 with my main phone line(hotlink rm35 package) and when I game I use my main line for that. Hotlink give me like 300ms for wow which is bearable for me.

I'm using Huawei B818 router if anyone wonders.

Just received my sim card for unifi air.
But it seems not working as I can't even connect to internet.
Enquire the support team and they said need 24hours for activation.
How long does it takes for you all ya?
N saw the instruction manual saying we need to add Access Point Name?
I thought just plug n play type

It is plug n play in most of the devices.

Anyone experienced a situation where ur 1GB free daily data is drained so fast ,u couldnt even last 30min with it ?

I also tried it with my umobile hotspot and the data usage is normal .

Mine last time (Nov 2020) can use immediately.. use in Huawei B818 no need 24 hrs..

Thinking to subs this plan to replace with my current 60gb/month broadband. Mainly to connect to smart tv & few devices at home.

Checked the coverage, my place is within blue area about 25-30 meters between the borderline.

By the way, does this UniFi Air have any fair usage policy like maxis prepaid unlimited data plan?

Hi guys, New Unifi Air user here. Due to my house not in the fibre coverage area, I have to use Unifi Air (otherwise I will use Unifi / Maxis Fibre).

Is this normal for Unifi Air users to have fast download speeds and slow upload speeds?

true. band 38/40 can get best download speed. but upload speed sucks. meanwhile band 5 download speed is slower. but upload speed faster than band 38/40.

fast download speeds because the tower are not congested
upload too slow is because poor signal reception
go outdoor and try again

install app.
cellmapper to find out where is the band 40 tower location
network cell info for signal strength

ya ya. ur which area. i jalan masjid jelutong still ok la night time download got 60 70Mbps

ya. only after midnight till max 8am to enjoice.. ok la to download steam games
