I buy B818 from Lazada.
SING4G the name of the seller.
So far so good.
B618 is OOS during that time, so I just buy B818.

Yep.
That is the modem I bought.
You can use HManager to lock the band.
The web UI cannot lock the band.

Wait, since when unifi Air got Band 1?

It doesn't

Straight cannot use internet laugh.gif

Thanks.

The speed is still okay when using band 40 so I guess I'll buy this router and see if I can get a consistently decent speed

Nope.
It is not an official Huawei app.
You need to download it from outside.
Just find HManager.

Hi Sifus, need your advise. My hometown located in remote area and I'll be home in few weeks (but still need to attend few meetings online).
Based on the forum here, will that possible for b818 to check all the sim below?

1. b818 + Unifi Air Sim
2. b818 + Maxis Sim
3. b818 + Celcom
4. b818 + Digi

The last time I check (dec 2019), the line (maxis, celcom) in that area ok2 only or any other suggestion which modem that can use for all telcos? Right now, my normal method to connect to internet: iphone 6 (on hotspot) and connect to my laptop (need VPN to access company site). Thank you in advance notworthy.gif my hometown location :Attached Image

B818 is compatible with all the telcos.
So no issue.
But since the modem is not modified, it only supports telcos that have true unlimited data.
An example is: Maxis One Go 138, Digi Infinite 150 and unifi Air 79.
So you may try all these telcos listed at your hometown to test it.

Since based on the map, maybe you can buy Unifi Mobile Bebas first to try how good is the internet there.
There is a possibility that your area might not have Band 40 which have a better internet capacity.

Yes.
That is what I was told by TM Point.
Forever RM79 not including 6% SST.
Edited: The promo might change back to RM129 but once you registered, it will be the same price forever.

I don't know why but TM is so incompetent.
They even did not know how much coverage is there in that area.
The place got coverage but based on the map, no coverage shown.

And the worst part, it seems unifi mobile and unifi home functions like in a separate company.
During my transition from Streamyx to unifi lite, the process of migration is so weird and complicated.
My old Streamyx got some extra payments made, so got some extra money.
I ask them to transfer it to my new unifi Air account but cannot.
Need to send check to my house.

tIt's me again, the poor guy that lives in a shithole area with monopolize telco.
Long story short, I signed up for Unifi Air without contract during May to test the speed out in my area, as the website showed that I am not covered for their Unifi Air signal.
I found out that my area is available for Band 40, although quite weak (min 10 mbs max 38 mbps) but still better than my original.
Then I went to TM Point to register for contract, but they said no B618 modem available, need to queue.
I agreed for queue and wait for their call.
After 3 weeks, I received the call today and guess what?

They changed their plan to ZTE modem.

I was like seriously?
B618 is worth at least RM 750 - 800, whereas this ZTE shit???
And the performance is lousy AF as shown by previous users (See post above).
Even their staff told me that the performance is a big gap between this 2 models.
They told me to consider wisely if I want to sign their contract again.

I am receiving weak signal even using B618, if I use ZTE I can confirm it will be worse.
And now I am left with 2 options.
1. Cancel my Unifi Air SIM plan as it is not in contract, and back to the Maxis One Go slow speed.
2. Buy a B618/B818 myself and pay RM 800.

I waited 3 weeks just to get this.
This is so ridiculous. And I feel rugi if I were to buy that B618 myself.
I really hope TM can resume back the B618 modem.
I am thinking of ending that unifi air sim plan.
That's all folks.
Sorry for my ranting post.
Poor guy living in shithole signing out.
