Will Unifi Air be capped after a certain amount of GB Usage?
Such as Youtube can only run on 480P or 720P?

Anyway guys finally my Huawei B818 router has finally arrived.
Seriously I am impressed with the modem.
Can get stable and solid signal throughout.
Really worth the investment for my Unifi Air SIM only plan.
Thanks to ashdwoers for advising me not to take the ZTE modem contract.

This is my speed I get with my Unifi Air + Huawei B818:

i used digi previously because didn't have fibre or unifi air back then

then i move to house with fibre so cancel

now moving somewhere again. house have fibre but no port so no choice but to use 4g again

though my experience in digi infinite was in penang, don't know if it will be as good in selangor

No wonder la.
Maybe you can buy all SIM from the telcos to try?
Based on your speedtest, Unifi Air speeds seems unstable in your area.

Since got budget for a better modem, so target this one.
Many people said B618 is the best, so targeting this.
But during that time, B618 65d is mostly OOS, so I opt to buy B818 which have the same performance like B618.

That is why you should check what band is there using your Unifi Mobile BEBAS SIM.
If it is Band 5, better avoid it like a plague.
It is not fast at all.

As shown below:

I just checked and I was using Band 40 (but band 5 when I was at the back of the house)

Does this mean the slow speed I'm getting is due to my phone? The speed should increase if I get a router and lock it to band 40 right?

I went to another area with band 40 and the speed around the same.

really starting to suspect it's because i'm using a phone.

What phone you are using currently?
Well cannot rely on phone so much, there is a possibility that the line there is crowded also.
Or maybe the line for Band 40 also not so strong, so it will affect the speed also.
There is a lot of possibilities here.

a lowyat user who is an agent helped me checked and he said that area not congested. i'm going to go to an area that is shown to have coverage on the unifi air map and do another test.

Well it is an old phone, cannot expect much to have amazing speeds.
Maybe if you buy a router, maybe can get better speeds overall.
But that is also depends on how strong the Band 40 or 38 coverage are.

For me non peak is around in the 1 am to 4 pm.

I am using it outside of Unifi Air coverage, they have upgraded my area with Band 40 which previously only Band 5 but did not update the map yet.
Around Centrepoint, Seremban.
Got 5 main taman around there.

can anyone explain why this 818 is selling for even cheaper than the b618?

I'm so confused by all the different prices and variance in models.

818 is better than 618, and selling cheaper because non-known model to people here in MY, probably. Better ask that seller.

I buy B818 from Lazada.
SING4G the name of the seller.
So far so good.
B618 is OOS during that time, so I just buy B818.
