I have this setup in my mind for my manual 1.3. Please advise whether izzit correct or not.

From nenas (what u call other than nenas?) --- piping --- center bullet/midbox (which one better?) -- s-flow muffler

Can give me idea for inlet and outlet for each of that? I like a quiet/bassy sound but give me pickup and better top speed. Any estimate price excluding the muffler.

I got these 2 videos. I love the sound but how to make the sound more quiet?
More bullet?

While this one not my type, too noisy but still have a nice sound.

me 2. WISE's down side is the weight due to the heavy rear boot door and the heavy 16inch tyres bolted to a underpower 1.5 soch engine. i find that efi has extra 0.5k redline compared to carb

If u heard some sound from back, make sure u check ur spare tyre.
Last time i kena, kena angry becoz i thought i have to change absorber, spring or what ever behind there. But after check the spare tyre, it was loose from the screw doh.gif
But the only problem i cant solve is when i drive alone, my passenger seat will vibrate like massage chair. why ha?

Mostly will be the MIVEC for power because its the most powerful NA engine in stock form legally for a Wira. 92 DOHC non MIVEC is very very rare, as for SOHC, some transplanted it too for more power at the low end range for city driving.

You are so amusing. We are talking about the MIVEC mechanism here which is totally different from the plain vanilla Campro DOHC engine. The high cam of the Mivec engine will be engaged at a higher rpm, whereas the campro's peak torque will be achieved at 4k rpm, thus the power surge. And i don't need to ask people around regarding Campro engine. I personally driven it before.

Way to go Einstein. Who's blur now whistling.gif

So mivec will kick on what rpm. 5k also?
Campro is a plain dohc. It needs cps and vim to be compared with vtec and mivec. But i doubt it can be on par with those 2.

The switch point for 4G92 DOHC Mivec occurs at approximately 5500 rpm, when the powertrain control module opens the valves longer to increase the amount of intake airflow, resulting in higher engine power.

think of it this way, MIVEC H/C now also 6.5K for manual (I assume you take manual to enjoy), transplanting cost + parts cost and etc, you will end up with 10K already

Even the 4G93 NA DOHC also increase price around 5K range liao due to hot demand....all thanks to JPJ

CoupeFan : Proton is trying hard, but if you talking about MIVEC, go back to 1992 and read its history ler....and compare it with Honda's B16A. that is the correct comparison, not some Campro.

guys, was wondering a few things. i've read through wiki, but was wondering if someone can share some bible knowledge on Mivec s. Apparently, i only know Mivec MD and RS. Are there anymore different batch for the 4g92 engines? some comes with silvertop. some with black tops. which is which?

one more thing, i saw one satria changed the front look with a evo bonnet and a good looking bumper. if not mistaken, it looks somewhat similar to gen 2. and th whole car is black matted. just wanna confirm on the gen 2 bumper fitted into wira. is it possible?

thanks

regarding the MIVEC thingy, as far as i know for 1st generation (wira/satria), MIVEC RS n normal version, as well as black n silvertop all is the same thing..
RS stand for Rally Sport which the car body is actually lighter compare with other (sacrificing some feature).. black n silver top merely for u to know which is newer i think.. MD is modulated displacement which means only 2 cylinder will be functioning at certain low rpm for fuel saving.. nontheless, all the 4G92 MIVEC has 175BHP as claim by mitsubishi.. reason why people is not goin for MD is because the ecu tend to be problematic n cost hefty sum of money to repair biggrin.gif
regarding the bumper, i dunno coz i keep my car as stock as posibble tongue.gif

QUOTE(Azuma-kun @ Jul 4 2007, 10:27 PM)

*
5.8k for MIVEC auto
0.7k for rear disc (needed to pass jpj)
0.1k for K&N look-alike air filter
0.7k for 2.0" exhaust twintip
0.7k for 15" recond rim with new tyre
1.75k for installation

total 9.75k for tranplant biggrin.gif
that is for Auto.. for manual? for sure more than that coz i've inquired manual for 6.5k on average.. i choose auto coz my place always jam doh.gif
n i love auto

Apexi brand much better. Less maintenance and cleans better. But the shopkeeper told me have to change every 5 years or so. K&N brand I think can last longer, but doesn't clean as well and need to clean the filter quite often.

Get dirtied fast = good filtering capability.

K&N filter can last as long as the vehicle itself.

I suggest better dont do it, even 1.5 auto also ppl are complaining underpowered
If u convert to auto and u complain that manual eats FC and underpower, just don't do it
Plus you will get more power loss to the wheels and torque smile.gif

any car...when its low fuelled won't show proper fuel reading. Basically your fuel meter, if below 1/4 will never be accurate. 10 bucks is definitely below 1/4 tank. You'll need to pump full tank then only properly calculate your car's mileage.

Hmm ... thanks for the prompt reply on my post, guys smile.gif
Really appreciate that ! Here is my new update on the situation, sometimes when I break too hard the meter reading for the fuel will go up abit and that will avoid the red alert sign to be triggered. unsure.gif
I was wondering is it because the meter's problem or the fc problem ... this is a 2 years ++ old car ...

Even with air-cond on/off, there's no big different in FC. Maybe a very slight difference only. One thing always annoyed me is when my wira 1.5 Auto climb hill, the fuel meter gone down very quick . Now i'm on 15" wheel, my FC is even higher, really regretted changed the wheel size. doh.gif

Even with air-cond on/off, there's no big different in FC. Maybe a very slight difference only. One thing always annoyed me is when my wira 1.5 Auto climb hill, the fuel meter gone down very quick . Now i'm on 15" wheel, my FC is even higher, really regretted changed the wheel size. doh.gif

air-cond on = cannot drive fast, save fuel but fuel power air-cond
air cond off = can drive fast, vroom, vroom, vroom...makan fuel laugh.gif

if you really wanna save fuel, try those fuel saver products. Sometimes it helps. Don't waste your money on few hundred dollar products. Try those K-tablet things...maybe it'll help smile.gif

kazami13, what's a throttle body? Part of engine?

Of couse if climbing hill it will consume more fuel, my manual also like that that why I use to speed of b4 climbing hill so that I wont have to use lower gear.... Unless there is a traffic goin up hill... then need to press gently so that it wont take much fuel.... Why did u change ur wheel before? suppose it help to reduce the fc by using smaller rim.... maybe the weight??
I also wanna change my wheel maybe to 17" one.... but still waiting for my 4d to comeout 1st... tongue.gif

I have the same prob like your, according to proton service center, the t/b is not faulty but it's dirty.. so you can send your car to proton service center to get your t/b cleaned.

damage-
. Clean and tunning RM 50.
. T/b for Mitsu EMS RM800-850 include install and tunning.
. T/b for Siemens EMS RM500+ Include install and tunning.

cheers and dont waste your time and cash on those workshop without a PDT.

there has been an issue on inaccuracy of fuel level in wira. if you managed to open the tank, you will notice that the fuel tank measurement rely on a floating mechanism. there will be a reserve location to restrict the float from floating out of its predesignated location. oil can enter and flow out of the confined location through small gaps. as you corner, the petrol might shift to one side. if its at the fuel sensing float side, you will see increase in fuel for a moment before it goes back to normal level provided the car is in planar position. the opposite occurs when fuel is flowing away from the fuel sensor. correct right?

pdt = proton diagnostic tool, cost around 20k according to the mech who service my car, and yes most of the proton authorized service center have them. It's something like a portable computer, they connect it to your car and able to find out what's your car prob in less then 5 min time. You go to non authorized workshop (potong leher shop) that dont have pdt, they will recommend you to change this and that... yet the same old dumb fark prob remains..

anyway i'm not trying to condem those non-authorized workshop.. there's still some with good tech skill around...

cheers

chopshop tarak warranty, recond warranty 1 week at rm 330. new warranty 6 month.

I seen people changing t/b twice in a month .. reason .. using recond t/b and endup getting a new t/b ... total damage 1.2k... so do the math yourself =)

There's no such thing as tuning our stock ecu. As Nicotine have mentioned, the pdt diagnostic device is only for monitoring purpose, it does not 'tune' our ecu.

Well, the word tuning is a very subjective term my friend. The pdt is just a monitoring device, whether it has the ability to reset the ecu to factory setting or not, i'm not sure. Take the 1.3GLi (without rpm gauge) for example; if the idling is too high/low, the mechanic will adjust accordingly until the engine reaches a healthy idling speed by checking the pdt. Or if the 'check engine' light is on, they will use the pdt to diagnose the engine fault such as sensor failure, etc...

But I don't think so the pdt is able to tune the stock ecu.

See, your post said it all. Setting the distributor, carburetor air-fuel ratio, or even a simple job like adjusting the idling adjuster screw can be considered as "engine tune up" smile.gif

pdt can check ur engine stability.. in case anything wrong with ur engine, the device can straight away check for the problem rather than other mech who test items 1 by 1, thus wasting customer money

impossible hit sumthing, coz when u hit sumthing the most obvious affected part would be the bumper or the hood first not the grill. i'm talking bout the inner plastics component that is holding the grill together behind it. its all broken as if like sumone tried to pry the thing open.

kazami, prepare bout 400 for custom side n rear skirts...my advice, don't need to do those..unless ur REALLY into ur car

kevyeoh, 1.8 certainly a legal upgrade from 1.5....without any illegal mods (bodykits, HID, lowered), u can even get it approve without a runner...FYI, i will transplant the 1.8DOHC i bought from a putra very soon....however, due to the mods i did to my car...i need a runner for ensure that my car get endorse legally for the engine transplant....

azuma-kun, thanx a lot for the kind comments...if i saw u waving at me...i will make sure i stop and greet you too..standard procedure to accept kind comments and compliment....i will definitely pass by lowyat main entrance in the morning (10pm or 11pm) daily except my off day...

yeah...money can solve those prob...but now my prob is...how to get money?

hahaha...chill guys....go on with discussion bout our beloved wira...bumper crack, mishap or rosak common geh lar...especially if we use aftermarket stuff...the more aftermarket stuff u use...the higher chance of prob....

the reason i say this is most after market stuff has bad QC...especially bodykits we are tokin bout here....they are not accurately made...so the more inaccurate stuff we put on....the more gaps, holes, and mishap we will notice..juz to share my 2 cents..peace out every1

Was working on my rear trunk today. Guess what, there's some water in there doh.gif and some minor rust too sad.gif Spent the whole day to remove those rust and cleanup the trunk area. Was trying to pinpoint the exact location of where the water could enter the rear trunk(spare tire there) but to no avail.

Anyone here experience this before?

How do you solve it? You use silicon sealant to seal the gap between the rear lights and the body? I was planning to do that.

Another suspected area is the spoiler mounting point. There's some rust at the mounting bolt there sad.gif

I strongly suggest ya'll go and have a check up at your boot area for any leakage. Fix it b4 it's too late biggrin.gif

Mine too... maybe wanna put some cement the base of the spoiler then respray.

The latest minor problem... I got a group of Kerengga (red ant) on my car especially on the spoiler?? Wonder what attract them.... may be the wax?? hmm.gif

I just bring them to work with me biggrin.gif .... I drove fast2 also they keep hanging on.... Normally they will disapear during afternoon.... maybe because of the heat.... sweat.gif

I got my wira 3 yrs ago from Proton Edar.
It is considered an empty car - no full accesories, no power window, no central locking, no fog lamp, no alarm system.

It's cheaper that time but spent some money to add on the power window, central locking and alarm system.

Just asking if can fit.

But for me, better stick with 1.3. I dont want to trash that wira.
I ride before with 1.6. scare while @160 doh.gif
The car shaking like mad and floating.

I will buy a new Proton model equip with Campro+CPS & VIM if i really want more power. For me, if i want power, i'll get myself a satria and transplant a mivec. Wira is my family car, cannot trash it kaw2.

nope you won't be able to fit the Campro with the Wira chassis unless all 4 mountings have to change, campro all engine terbalik. Might as well you go MIVEC straight

if its campro with CPS+VIM, might as well you get a Campro equipped car

for 1.6 4G92P, its not a bad engine, a lot of potential.....just that it is sluggish for auto and it loved high revving to get the max out of it, so if u like spirited driving, 92p is not a bad choice smile.gif

I will buy a new Proton model equip with Campro+CPS & VIM if i really want more power. For me, if i want power, i'll get myself a satria and transplant a mivec. Wira is my family car, cannot trash it kaw2.

but you do need power if you want to drive your family around. 1.3 just isn't enough.

has anyone tried Cyclone3 from Eneos? Sounds nice but its RM160 a piece. Wonder if its affective. Says to add power without FC compromise.

93p is higher with 10.5:1
92p 2nd with 10:1

4G13p is 9.5:1 & 4G15p is 9.2:1, if its the 4G15 DOHC then its 9.5:1

If its 1.6 92 MIVEC, then its 11:1

Its some piece of metal that makes the air going into the engine swirl. Fitted into the tube of the air filter. All it does is mix the air intake...but they promote like its very effective...

transplant the engine with 4g92p... then put the ordinary proton wording on top of it....
will this save the cost to find runner to endorse the new engine transplant???
When ppl pop the hud..... see the proton wording... they might think it still stock condition....

Regarding the cyclone thinggy does it really work?

i can tell u 1 thing... when u go fast n u feel ur car vibrating hard, that is prolly come from ur tyre.. my car no vibrate at 170km/h using new 15" tyre n rim.. if it is rattle, then it comes from engine's mounting being spoilt

if u think of n planned to mod the car then better get a 2nd 1. coz it will a bit wasted if brought new n modded after brought. summore some of the part will void the warranty if changed.
