u mean flat base.... super clear means oil based d and topcoat is water...
i have read 2 articles bout these 2, ntg different just tat one is water based, one is oil based... tat's all
*
oic....thanks..

hmm...i think that's makes me to choose 2 option, either go with whole super clear, or just wait for the top coat re-stock.

the base paint is either enamel or lacquer, it should have any problem. I suspect, either the base paint is not dry enough, or he spray too much top coat, bubble formed

those white color thing is what they call frosting effect ... they some times happens when u spray topcoats or clear .... reason is because moisture r trap beneath the topcoat ..... to avoid this dun spray topcoat when raining or cold weather cause this is the highest change u might get frosting effect ....

Oh, so the frosting effect main reason is that ?
What if spraying too near or too thick..is this also will cause the frosting effect ?

errr ... guys rendam the top coat tin in warm water is only for get back the pressure of spraying nia ler .... it wont remove the frosting....

Foxngn - yes most cases r because of the weather .... for spraying too near surely ur topcoat will become thick and also some cases if topcoat too thick it will also kena frosting ..... there is a few ways to get rid if it :

- drying ur kit under the sun can remove the frosting
- after spray topcoat dry it with hair dryer no frosting will happen
- rub wit Tamiya Compound then clean wit cloth/brush next Apply Gloss Clear coat this way the frosting should be gone last u can reapply topcoat ( menthol taken form Plamo forum )

aiyo doh.gif ... i think use the self formulated top coat (slate + flat base) is even more SAFER and EASIER than mr. hobby top coat o since AB's pressure is more constant and easier to use... no frosting will happen i guess hmm.gif ...

i think it is based on wat details u want to add and wat scale of kit are u adding it on. So the question is back to urself.

It's very subjective, because details are just for decorative mainly, and not for functional purpose.

So base on your own judgement and personal preference. Normally, from PE (thinnest), 0.3mm, 0.5mm, 0.8mm are my own favorite. used 1mm too but quite rare. Never tried anything thicker than that. biggrin.gif
