I need an opinion on hardware mainly Processor and mobo.

He is my situation.3 Monts ago I bought AMDX2 4600+ and Asus Crosshair mobo. And I am not realy happy with the performance so I want to upgrade.Since the barcelona is coming out soon I was thinking of just upgrading it.
But the price might be expensive so I was thinkin better I go for Intel e6600 and change my mobo to a p35 chipset cuz what I have read in near future amd will change its socket to AM2+ for phenom procs and I still cant upgrade anymore but Intel still supports 775 even with the new 45 nanometer proc with the p35.So I don't know if I should just upgrade to barcelona or change to intel setup.
Its so hard to keep up with the technology nowdays ..

northwood is in between williamette and prescott

yup,if ur mobo can suppoprt prescott then it has no problem support northwood, some of the mobo cant support Prescott cause of the the at least 1 mb cache.

some fans when you buy they give you the smaller connector BUT they also add an additional wire for you to convert it to fit the molex.

Single sided RAM usually overclock higher and can run tighter timings because they have less memory on it
*
ehh. lesser CHIP on it. biggrin.gif not lesser memory.

High performance RAM is different, they were hand picked, and have some strict performance requirement to pass on each RAM chips (timings, speed etc). That's why normally they faster and more expensive

Mostly no, I would opted for more RAM than faster CPU speed
