sorry if the question is a little bit off topic..

besides of the size, what is/are the other differences between DVD+R (4485MB) and DVD-R (4489MB)?
ive been flooded with this question several times and i still dont know the right answer to give.. sweat.gif
*
they are just 2 competing format, just like blu-ray and hd-dvd now
currently most dvd players or drives can read both without any problem at all, though older 1 might just support either 1
for technical difference between them, u can read more on wiki
it's something about how the data is written by the red laser

well u can search for the models online best to do this before u buy lor
a lot of brands use different naming technique for the same card
most are pci-e these days, agp are not tat popular already
there's a lot of brand, lowyat mostly will display gigabyte, asus, msi or foxconn, abit and a few more
they only differ generally on bundle, but some might have slightly different clock speed, or cooling fan
do some research online before deciding

Hi guys,
it's my turn for my noob question.....will an insufficient power supply from PSU cause system to be instable/hang ???
*
yeah, especially when u are running stuffs tat needs more power than ur psu can supply
usual culprit will be gc, especially the high end 1

here's the scenario....My compaq PC comes with 350W PSU, with 1 harddisk, and 1 CD ROM.
Myself upgraded:
1. Additional 1 Harddisk
2. Additional 1 DVDR-ROM
3. Additional 1 PCI Modem
4. latest addition : long hours of torrents

I used to experience "hang" within the Windows Explorer. now, with my brother constant torrent, the whole system hang. I have to actually reset the whole system.

So, confirm PSU to be blamed??
*
hard to diagnose just like tat
psu might just be 1 of the reason
there's a lot of reason ur problem might occur, such as corrupted os, memory conflict, gc overheating
how about u try reformating ur os with a clean installation?

so.. it mean.. i still have to connect thru wired meh?

well ur router must be connected to a modem wat, and this have to be done with a network cable, unless the wireless router u have also has built in modem, then u can connect to the internet using wireless directly through lor

if u dun really understand wat i'm saying, i would also like more description, cos the answers are based on wat i understand from ur posts

not too clear on wat u mean by ur area using wired lan, and u want to connect to them

actually like dis..
my college is using wired LAN..
most stdnts used wired lan..
since my room is quite far from other room..
is it possible for me to used wireless router to reach them?

sorry if u dun understand.. noob here notworthy.gif
*
hmmm, dun ur room has access point for wired connection?
cos even if u buy wireless router, u still need a source cable to be plugged in for internet
i assume u want to connect to ur college network and frens using wireless?
as long as ur wireless router is connected to the network with a cable, u shouldn't have any problem connecting to ur frens
