QUOTE(NasiLemakMan @ Jun 26 2007, 12:33 PM) Guys, here noob a question: of course u can change it.. Could I change my heatsink fan(so noisy!!) without changing to a new processor? but just an advice, if u changed it to 3rd party hsf, better keep the stock hsf, dun sell it or lost it..it will be used when u want to send the proc to rma.. |

QUOTE(xiong91 @ Jun 29 2007, 09:23 PM) noob question here... casing side panel air hole for installin casing fan should be intake or outtake? and also the top surface of casing fan hole? intake or outtake? i wan to build a nice air flow system casing.. usually the front will be the intake while the rear will be the exhaust..just like air coming from the front and blew out at behind.. and about the top or side, it depends on u.. usually i will make the top as exhaust, while the side is for intake to cool down my graphic card.. |

QUOTE(sHawTY @ Jun 29 2007, 10:54 PM) Okay bro, since you're the Sifu, let me ask you something, what about the sidepanel fan? perhaps LianLi made that design for a purpose of blowing out the hot air produced by graphic card.. Yea, most casing put the sidepanel fan as intake, but as far as we all know, we know that Lian-Li casings put the sidepanel fan as exhaust. What do you think bro? but if we think logically, its quite 'bad' to suck out the fresh air that are supposed to be used to cool down the graphic card.. so, intake is better..at least we can cool our soundcard and mobo as well This post has been edited by kalakatu: Jun 29 2007, 11:46 PM |

QUOTE(xiong91 @ Jul 1 2007, 04:04 PM) hmm...if the position of side panel fan is at the top left side leh? means at the position of Proc with a turbine.... the fan should be intake or outtake? it should be intake, so that ur processor will be cooled down by a fresh air from outsideQUOTE(xiong91 @ Jul 1 2007, 04:04 PM) how about the position of side panel fan hole is in the middle of side panel or bottom left(graphic card)? for me it should be intake as well, same reason as above: for cooling down ur gcQUOTE(xiong91 @ Jul 1 2007, 04:04 PM) its blowing the air to the heatsink..think logically, when u wanna drink something hot, u blow or u suck the hot air? or when u feel hot, u stand at the front of the fan or behind the fan? |

QUOTE(Kidicarus @ Jul 3 2007, 12:20 PM) Umm actually your explanation doesn't make sense. What you want is to keep air flow in your case circulating, expelling hot air and sucking in cold air. Since Hot air rises, what you need to do is make sure the exhausts are expelling the hot air as it rises to the top. Front fans are usually intake fans because they bring in cold air from the outside to the bottom of the case and thermodynamics will take it to the top of the case where it can be expelled. That's why good cable management makes such a big difference in the cooling of a case.. hot air doesn't get trapped behind obstructions and ill placed cards. thanks for the clarifications When you want to drink something the quickest way is usually to stir it with a metallic object (ie heatsink). Standing in front of a fan works because the airflow is designed to be channeled through the front. Imagine if you were sitting in a box with a wall to your back - all the hot air would just be blown towards you and get trapped in the back. You would still feel hot because you would just have hot air being recirculated around you. If you stand in a wind tunnel with no wall to your back, you'll be a lot cooler because there's no hot air to get trapped behind you. That's why having an exhaust where your graphics card/processor is probably a best idea esp since those pieces are producing the most heat. actually im not very good in explaining this kind of terms..so i just explained in which part i did understand only, and using the simplest language i ever known.. and basically my explanations before was just a simple and basic example.. |

QUOTE(Nemesis181188 @ Jul 25 2007, 12:41 AM) Ok here is my question,my ram is ddr2667 running at dual channel. When I open my cpu-z is seems my ram frequency is running at 315 instead of 333.What's the problem. My rig is stated in my siggy. Thanks alot people as I'm still quite new to computers. since u r using DDR667, the ram's frequesncy is CPU/6, where 2200/6 = 366.7MHzso i guess either; - u enabled the CnQ - u set the divider to DDR533, which is CPU/7 = 2200/7 = 314.2MHz |

QUOTE(Phoenixwunin @ Jul 30 2007, 10:32 PM) weih guys. Got one stupid question here... my POV: we dont really need the 4gb ram as for now, XP only detect up to 3.5gb and actually 2gb is already enough for daily life I'm using a Windows 32-bit now. And a 2GB RAM. Is it adviseable to upgrade to 4GB RAM?? Since as far as I know... Vista / XP 32-bit will only detect up to 3.5GB. So will using 4GB gives any different... or perhaps it will makes my system goes awry?? but if u thinking of getting another 2gb because the ram's price is getting higher, then go for it |
