sata is indeed faster IMO.

but IF ure uusing PATA HDD with SATA converter to connect to SATA plug. i think the speed will be reduced to pATA speed only, no?

the benefit is u still can use ur pata HDD to connect to SATA motherboard without need to buy new SATA HDD. well, im not sure though. expert here can prove im wrong anyway

well in my case. i hav HD3850 and the requirement said it needs at least 450W PSU so that the card can run properly. since i just hav 300W PSU i keep it in the box ATM doh.gif

check at ur PSU there how many watt it produce. and check ur GC how many watt it needed to power it up.

nah, it just my opinion. maybe expert here got other solution hmm.gif

@amduser CM Elite casing with CM 450WRealPower PSU =RM380 come with casing.
but i think i will take silverstone ST506F 560W and take ninja casing.
*
normally the PSU that comes with the casing cant support descent rig for long time, even it can power up, the PSU might hv premature dead...

Can my DDR2 533mhz ram runs on a mobo only support DDR2 667/800 ?

Need some help here, between Audigy 2 and Audigy 4 sound card do they have any major differences in producing sound?  Its already obvious that Audigy 4 produce better sound quality but is it really that noticeable?
*
not noticeable for me lar, unless ur ear r very sensitive else u need some instrument to test it i think.....

Would like to check whether a pair of Crucial ddr2 kit running 4-4-4-4 @ 1000mhz @ 2.2v with corsair dominator's cooling fan running off a 24/7 rig will bring this ram to a suicide mission?
*
it is very hard to kill a RAM, sommore u gt the fan for the RAM.....

QUOTE(camel90 @ Feb 9 2008, 01:33 PM)
i just bought my HD3850 just now.
there will be no OC and no crossfire. so, the question is. do i need to connect the extra power supply to the card?
*
better connect, it will do no harm to ur PSU.....

QUOTE(camel90 @ Feb 10 2008, 12:10 PM)
stupid question here.

will Core 2 Duo E4500 bottleneck graphic card like HD3850?

it wil be equipped with 3GB of ram though. if it does, any other processor that can handle this card?
*
no matter wat u use the bottleneck will also be there, either ur RAM, processor, graphic card or HDD, but E4500 and 3GB pair with HD3850 i already very good enough, so dont worry.....

some older PC does not support SATA so they need a SATA > IDE converter installed in order to use the new SATA HDD, coz it is hard to find new IDE HDD....

eh, sata hdds usually still have the ide power supply port (the old 4 pin u mentioned) along with the sata power supply port (5 pin) as far as i know.

just make sure u only connect either 1 of them, leaving both connected to power supply, will make your hdd go to heaven due to oversupply of power
