No point putting optical port when majority of the users don't even use it.

Even in PS3, the optical digital has restrictions and only supports 2 Ch. & 5.1 Ch compared to HDMI which supports 2 Ch. , 5.1 Ch. & 7.1 Ch. .

TOSLINK (optical) is simply an outdated standard, it was made in 1983. Yes, it's nearly 4 decades old now.

The standard has been supported more than long enough already.

My sound connection to my PS4 is also with an optical port.
There are ways around this though it’s a bit irritating.
Easiest way will be to get a splitter.

once you've used that, there's no way you gonna go back to the inferior quality of USB wireless audio

USB and optical are just audio signal transports, in a digital form. They have no difference in "sound quality" if all else being equal. In fact, USB is theoretically better because it can transmit higher bandwidth than optical. The only advantage optical has is that it can be used for very long runs where as USB are usually limited to no more than 5m without a signal booster.

Most likely cannot. PS5 controller should be only applicable to PS5 games. Meanwhile, DS4 is applicable to PS5, but only limited to PS4 games (since PS5 is PS4 games compatible).

I could be wrong though. We still need to wait Sony to reveal their PS5 spec and functions .

xbox series s is very disruptive, able to play next gen game with some trade off, i think is real win. that one is for ppl who play using monitor or smaller screen which dont have 4k. really win.
