1. Announced in 2020 Q3, should be somewhere around Olympic. Can just buy it from Japan at that time if you can't wait for the Malaysia release.
2. 8k due to the Japan newest 8K standard. But remember, it doesn't mean that the games will be made in 8K eventhough it supports. Not to mention that nowadays the toppest spec still cannot run game smoothly in 4k@60p. The 8k in here probably just refer to the 8k TV streaming service or blu ray spec.
3. Backward compatibility! Great! You can buy PS4 games as much as as you can now without worrying that you can't play in PS5. Sony can concentate on working on new game instead of wasting time on keep remastering the old games.
4. SSD is welcome. But at the same time the cost will be increased.
5. 2020 announced. Most likely will only be coming in Malaysia in 2021. So still got roughly 2 years to wait. Time to save money now.
6. If the specs are true, the price is definitely more than RM2000 ish. Unless Sony is willing the bear the hardware cost (since they earn a lot on the PSN/software part), which I am doubt so.

Most likely cannot. PS5 controller should be only applicable to PS5 games. Meanwhile, DS4 is applicable to PS5, but only limited to PS4 games (since PS5 is PS4 games compatible).
I could be wrong though. We still need to wait Sony to reveal their PS5 spec and functions .

FFVII remake was the reason why I bought my PS4 pro. And I believe FFVII remake 2 will be the reason for me to buy PS5.
I buy the console not because of the console itself. It's all because of the games I want to play. PC is great, xbox series is not bad as well. But do they have their own first hand exclusive titles on the road? Sadly to say, the answer is no.
So playstation will always be my only choice, even if its spec and performance are weaker compared to other platform.
Hahaha, I think FF7 remake after 1 year exclusive to Sony will be selling at xbox / pc as well As for Xbox, too bad Microsoft Malaysia doesn't want to bring them in officially
Xbox do have their exclusive title (forza and halo), but it might be available to PC at later time
Even so, I still vote for playstation. Because I want to play it "now" rather than wait for another year. I prefer to play the game during it's "prime time". You get the idea.
So at the end, it's all depend on player's preference. Either you can't wait to play the game, or you can wait until it's release at your favourite platform. There's no right or wrong on this.
Normally, PS5 will only be released first in US and Japan. Malaysia will have to wait longer right? By that time, perhaps all the reviews already came out. Then we can judge it based on those reviews before we buy.
According to some comments from netizens, it seems that the reporter is known for having bad reputation. Most of his reports is fake and exaggerated. Do take the news as a grain of salt.
Early production units still have a lot of QC issues anyway. Best to avoid buying it early. Your favourite game most definitely won't be out till later anyway. I am an early adopter to most consoles, and only find games always lacking in the first year of release, especially PS4 launch last time. If can wait best, if can't buy je. No harm lol
Correct. At this stage, everything is still not confirmed. Better wait for the price, the spec, the date, the reviews. And who knows. May be when it reaches our shore, it's 2nd batch or 3rd batch already. Let the US owner (white rat) test it first. Lol.
But my concern is the processing power and small screen, I prefer something she can play in her play room which comes with a 60" TV. To jaga her mata, i dont even let her play with mobile/tabs..
Would Switch games transition well to a HD 60" screen?
For current gen switch, games transition to tv is good. But the pic quality is not as good as PS and xbox. Not to mention that your tv is huge, sure the pic quality will be much deteriorated after you transit the switch to tv
in asia, official launch only confirmed in hong kong & singapore.
as far as soyny is concerned, malaysia is not part of the "rest of the world" launch in november 19.
maybe we will only get it in december or next year.
Taiwan & Australia launch also already confirmed.
Of course, as usual, Malaysia is not part of the world. Lol. Anyway, it could be a good thing to us. We can wait for reviews and see if PS5 really up to our expectation.
For 3rd point, he didn't specifically mention which one got 120fps. I assume it's only available in 1080p mode. Stable or not, that's another question.

So which display mode you guys prefer? After watching the video, the graphic looks so much better after ray tracing is on. If 4K is not a must to you, then I guess Ray tracing on + 1080p + 60fps is the best combination available. I always play games on monitor, so I don't need 4k. Unless I want to play it on TV......

Friend working in Sony klcc told me that preorders will be opening soon with only 500 units being brought in. Not sure if that's for whole malaysia or only for the klcc store. Heard that the price for the disc version will be around rm2599. Not sure if that's the final price or not but seems likely.
Thanks for the info. That's quite expensive. Do you happen to know the price of digital version as well?
QUOTE(Shinka @ Sep 29 2020, 12:56 PM)
Quite surprised at the price too, is that the ps4 Pro launching price? Couldn't remember.
No. PS4Pro is far cheaper when it was launched in Malaysia. The price was RM 1799.

Imagine going with the Digital Version - how many games can you install
The disc works as an authentical access. You still need to install the game into the storage, no matter it's disc version or digital version. Surprisingly, a lot of people including some playstation owners don't aware about this.
