Controller looks great, now I wish they keep the coloured button. Triangle green, square purple, and so on.
*
The PSVita buttons already looks like these.
Transparent buttons with white symbols.

Just read that exclusives for PS5 wont be made for PS4. Saddd

This is to push development for next gen gaming.

If next gen games are downgraded to run on older consoles, buyers will feel shortchanged when playing the downgraded PS4 versions.

I supposed it can now play ultra HD 4K Blu-ray Disc? Since it comes with media remote control.

Besides, can the normal version with disc drive download digital version of games or each type can only either play by disc or by digital copy only?
*
It doesn't "come" with media remote control.
That's is separately sold add-on accessory just like the PS2, PS3 & PS4.
Otherwise the controller charging station, camera & headphones also "come" with it.

I don't know why you ask such a strange question asking whether a console with an optical drive and large media storage capacity can download digital games.
Is your PS4 with the optical drive can only play disc games and not digital downloads ?

if you look at the pic closely, looks like we'll need a horizontal stand if we wanna put it horizontally

OMG that's really a big fck up from Sony, will be worst is if it wasn't bundled together and have to be purchased separately as accessories doh.gif
*
In the console reveal video, the angles avoided showing the right side of the console which is the bottom part.

Judging from the curvy shape of the casing, the console cannot be placed completely flat horizontally without a base since the top part of the console will be floating when placed horizontally.

So, it is unlikely the stand will be sold separately as this stand should be able to be used for both vertically and horizontally placement.
However, the Digital Edition's stand is lower and has less width to fit the console body compared to the disc based console in the reveal video.
So there should be 2 different type of stands specific to its respective console.

No point putting optical port when majority of the users don't even use it.

Even in PS3, the optical digital has restrictions and only supports 2 Ch. & 5.1 Ch compared to HDMI which supports 2 Ch. , 5.1 Ch. & 7.1 Ch. .

For me, the 3rd or 5th hardware revision would be the most reliable ones.

I put off buying day one until it is stabilized.

So what I did is to buy the physical games first long before getting the consoles later.

Err exclusive will become playstation hits selling at half price. see god of war, spiderman etc.

Only the popular ones will have re-releases as "Playstation the Best" or "Playstation Hits" during the console's lifetime.

Also, the cheaper physical re-releases does not look as good as the original releases in a physical game collection display.
I have the PS3 Uncharted "the Best" white label re-release and it looks out of place when put alongside my PS3 Uncharted 2 & 3 black label collection.

There are some people that have the same mindset about the matter above :
https://www.reddit.com/r/gamecollecting/com...of_black_label/

The titles I want to buy & play are generally niche and do not have any re-releases.

PS5 is thiccc.

390mm (15.4 inches) tall, 260mm (10.24 inches) deep and 104mm (4.09 inches) wide.

Digital version just 12 millimeters slimmer.

"We will be supporting certain m2 SSDs.
These are internal drives that you can get on the open market and install in a bay in Playstation 5."

22:43
"That commercial drive also needs to physically fit inside of the bay we created in Playstation 5 for m2 drives."

IMO an additional NVME slot for storage upgrade which majority of us won't be using is very unlikely
It's effectively killing off their own future consoles revision with higher storage capacity
Why would I go buy a new 2Tb version of PS5 if I can just go buy off the shelf 1TB SSD that's compatible and plug it in?
or just go buy a much cheaper 512Gb SSD to make it 1.5Tb?
*
PS3 & PS4 sales history shows there is no "effectively killing off their own future consoles revision with higher storage capacity".

As drive prices goes down per storage size with time, the newer revisions console with larger drives still hovers around the price range that is never below 50% of the original retail launch price.

Also, the PS5 custom SSD has 6 priority levels vs 2 priority levels of commercial NVME SSDs. (continue the video after 22:05 onwards)

Buying a compatible off the shelf 1TB or 512 GB SSD while pairing it with older model may not be cheaper than buying 2TB version of PS5.
Not to mention about "non-techie" owners may not bother to perform the storage expansion by checking which compatible SSD to buy and then doing the upgrade no matter how simple the process are.

The new Samsung 980 Pro is in my mind, no doubt on Sony's whitelist of NVME PCIE4.0 SSDs already.

That's the kind of drive you need to about match the internal one.
*
Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus & Adata XPG Gammix S70 7Gb/s drives are also potential candidates.

The issues are does the heatsinks fit or it needs to be removed and paired with Sony's or it must operate without attaching any heatsinks ?
Or are 2280 size too large and need shorter form factor ?

Hi all
Sorry if the question already asked before

Assuming im using ps5 with disc

How does the free ps4/ps5 dual entitlement upgrade works?

Only digital or disc also can?

If disc, will it detect the game as ps5 game using ps4 disc? Or it will detect it as ps4 game?
*
Title upgrades from PS4 to PS5 depends on the publisher of that title.
Some titles do not have a free upgrade path such as PS4 Spider-Man, Control, GTA 5, & Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

If you ask specifically about "Dual Entitlement" :

Dual Entitlement is a feature (or initiative) from EA that allows players who buy Madden 21 or FIFA 21 on current-gen consoles to upgrade to the next-gen version of these games for free.

https://www.techradar.com/news/dual-entitlement

Here is an example:

My advise if you are casual gamer, don't spend on the latest expensive console to play.

You can get PS4 or even a second hand PS3 which is still viable to play and a lot cheaper, when you don't feel like gaming and leave the console collecting dust.

No, it's a customized NVME SSD using the the M.2 slot, you can swap out that original SSD with your own NVME SSD, similar on PS4 with sata HDDs

unlike PS4 sata HDDs, where you can reuse anywhere else, it's unlikely our PC will recognize the original PS5 NVME SSD due to it's customized firmware
*
Where is the source of this info that Sony's internal SSD is installed on the only expandable storage slot on PS5 ?

I will be playing Cyberpunk 2077 on PC.

But I'm wondering about the PSVR PS4 camera adapter which was supposed to be free and do not require purchasing.

The western release do not have the PS4 camera adapter shipped in PS5 box, while Japan seems to ship it in the PSVR bundle itself.

PS5 camera cannot be used for PSVR, it needs the PS4 camera instead and its connector is not USB.
