imagine when you see a banner in front of your favourite shop.

Everything must go, 50% discount storewide.

What would you do?
*
I will question whether the things they sell are worth 50% off or not. Perhaps a competitor has come in at better quality at 30% of the original prices.

you are right.

price is what you pay, but value is what you get.

if you've been this long enough, for like 2 years or more.

I doubt your portfolio would even show losses despite this supposedly "huge losses or drop" that you have been complaining about.

so again, time in the market > timing the market.

another thing, buying for consumption is not so complicated. you get 10 maggi for the price of 20, you still get full for 10 times. But if you are investing, you better be sure the thing you buy will appreciate in price, compared to the price you paid for. And that, is never by just looking at the "current price" or even "current value". It is always what you think you can sell it for in certain amount of time in the future.

Hi just started stastaway.
One question. Investing how much for starter? Month invest or one lump invest is better?

I have spare of around 200-300 month that I can use for stastaway

if you have no investment experience,
if you does not have much understanding of how Stashaway works,
if you are not sure what the results of your investing will be and how that are gonna impact your emotion and the peace of your sleeps,
may i just suggest that you do regular investment instead of lump sum.

but then again, if this lumpsum is just "kacang putih" value in relation to your net worth (in % term),...then you can also do lumpsum instead of regular invest

Wan try stastaway since asnb super darn hard to get so allocate some to other basket.

some do it weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, etc, etc...

but i think "many" would set just after their pay day......"pay themselves first, before other expenses"

Is good in my view. Past few months the stock markets were ralling so when I DCA, the ETFs are all at relatively elevated prices.

Now can start averaging down
