Withholding tax claim back would only apply to majority of the BOND ETF

Both are same, Both take around T+2 / T+3, to receive your deposit > convert it to USD > buy ETF

Most of us put auto bank Standing instruction to auto transfer as DCA practise

*remember to put your unique code in the reference field when you transfer

using FPX right, mean no need manual transfer, but manual make the 'payment' on StashAway portal

but i hope together with his, they improve the speed also, T+2, T+3 really a bit unfavorable for me

especially for withdrawal (redemption/sell) process

really hope they can do the sell process at T+1 at least, to prevent the loss of within T+2/T+3

right now u can DCA at whatever interval u want, since SA dont charge you buy/sell fee anyway

our fren here @[Ancient]-XinG- i think he DCA few days once haha

but do note that no matter how much u DCA, each deposit they got from u took T+2, T+3 to go through the received>convert> buy process

I think if u deposit more than one time at the same day (not sure for deposit made within two/three continuous day)

they will collect together and buy in the same time, as it happened to mine

I did an excel to prospect DIY versus StashAway, how much u really paying for both consider u invest 1000 a months for continuous 30 years.

dont need, they already choose the portfolio combination for you according your risk profile

no bro, you can't, in that case you might as well use DIY method to invest in S&P 500, because why would you want to give them the management fee just to invest in S&P500

so far i think no, in Malaysia the CHEAPEST way to buy malaysia ETF should be the way proposed by alexkos in his DIY post already.

I am not sure if Malaysia Bank foreign share trading offer to US ETF investment, but certainly it is not CHEAPEST, It will cause a painful cost of each buy and sell transaction.

I was previously like you, want to find a way to just invest in S&P 500, but to no avail, I can't seem to find a cheapest yet easy way, because you can't run away from:

1) FX convertion, you need convert MYR to USD to buy US ETF
2) a Cheap broker
3) A easy yet cheap way to fund your account at broker side

So end out I chose StashAway, thou it is not 100% focusing on S&P500, but somehow it has its benefit of below which i mentioned previously:

sigh, it is cheap and easy for oversea countries, they even can buy ETF free of charge from broker like FirstTrader etc, only us Malaysian, most of the time dont even accepted by this foreign broker

Like FirstTrader, when i sign up, really darn sad to see they accept Singaporean but not Malaysian, Malaysian too ulu la
