QUOTE(vanitas @ Feb 10 2021, 12:09 PM) I am not even sure how was it a good thing. Tesla is EV company, doesn't have any relation with crypto. He should have all in gold because is cheaper. It was like telling Maybank (or any bank), TNB, Top Gloves, or even EPF buy crypto is a good thing. QUOTE(blibala @ Feb 10 2021, 03:41 PM) Surprisingly despite yesterday majority all green but today check the value, it is a negative.. why. Yeah I also found it abit odd. I know USD dropping but it can't be that much of a difference? I went from 219 -> 250 USD today, but surprisingly only went from 953 -> 983 MYR. Unless USD dropped really damn a lot (which doesn't seem like the case). I'm on 36% too |

QUOTE(xander83 @ Feb 10 2021, 03:15 PM) Wrong assumption a simple ARK ETF track specific share prices which gains 3x faster than SA on a minimum nahhhIJR as well on the breakout again. As long as you on 36 KWEB and IJR is the benchmark to see whether you’re making the money You gonna missed out because you still doesn’t understand Tesla driver fundamentals as the company solid with cash. The price is not based on speculation or hype but it is buying the future forward Those who Tesla bears are just waiting for another squeeze or share split which is for them to enter at affordable price The reason is why’s Tesla is buying crypto is because to hedge USD when it’s gonna devalue 15% price value yearly under Biden stimulus plan which gonna flood the market with USD in terms of liquidity If all major S&P500 companies invest 2% of cash it is almost USD400billion based on BTC at current level of 47k even if tesla will be a 3 trillion company in 20 years, i wont pay for it now. its like you telling me one day your child will become usain bolt, so i should pay him 20 million in advance. why should i ? did he proof anything? dont talk about hedging usd, that just an excuse to cover up tesla balance sheet. you want to hedge, use gold. why bitcoin? elon musk just want publicity. |

Owh my, where did i hear that before ,inflated price for overly optimistic expectation on future profit some nearer and some further away.
Investing at any valuation regardless of the price. This post has been edited by backspace66: Feb 10 2021, 05:11 PM |

QUOTE(halotaikor. @ Feb 10 2021, 05:02 PM) nahhh Hedging USD by playing forex with leverage (if bitcoin is a currency). even if tesla will be a 3 trillion company in 20 years, i wont pay for it now. its like you telling me one day your child will become usain bolt, so i should pay him 20 million in advance. why should i ? did he proof anything? dont talk about hedging usd, that just an excuse to cover up tesla balance sheet. you want to hedge, use gold. why bitcoin? elon musk just want publicity. I hope the fanboys realised bitcoin can up 2x or drop 50% easily. This is clearly a risky investment, or speculation, but not hedging currency risk. And no asset only up up up, even land and gold which also limited. Life_House liked this post

At 2pm it increased and updated as usual but still in negative zone. If coompare with yesterday currency rate i think fluctuation less than 1% right? |

Ringgit move a lot today hence fluctuate about 1.5% compared to the gains last night in USD which is why earlier I said Feb10 would be good time to deposit because the gains to buy more ETFs because USD on a weaker trend for this month This morning value reduced about 5% compared to yesterday. QUOTE(xander83 @ Feb 10 2021, 06:18 PM) All green doesn’t mean your ETF gains as they rebalancing going on certain shares hence negative and it willing reflect the adjustment this evening once markets open bitcoin is not an asset. fullstop. How you know that Tesla doesn’t hedge gold? Tesla has hedge in several other commodities which are in different in their assets which are better performing than gold Companies use hedge to grow value not preserve value hence it make sense buy growth assets now like bitcoin Only a fool like you still buy gold because it is not growth asset but preserve asset Leo the Lion and Xenopher liked this post

If coompare with yesterday currency rate i think fluctuation less than 1% right? 1. Track in USD. 2. Track with Yahoo finance app (you need to key in each particular asset and your quantities). You don't need to keep this very very up to date but I update once a month when I done my fresh new investment. ![]() ![]() ![]() rc2x and Life_House liked this post

QUOTE(infernape772 @ Feb 10 2021, 09:44 PM) Was wondering what are the FX rates for SA. I withdraw 5k on Sun and after conversion to MYR, lost about 2.5% just due to FX. This would significantly impact the returns if the FX rate to deposit and withdraw is 2.5% + 2.5% = 5%. You may use Citibank Malaysia indicative rate as a reference. That would mean for every RM100 you invest, RM5 will just be lost for currency exchange. Conversion either way should be charged 0.1% as conversion by Citibank Malaysia. |

QUOTE(foong pooi sing @ Feb 10 2021, 09:40 PM) Fyi, Tesla's bitcoin investments is classified as assets in its company's accounting treatment/annual report. Whether this fits into your definition of "asset" is up to you Think of it in another way, if Tesla winds up you are entitled to some Bitcoin as a share holder. I’m no fan of Bitcoin, I also don’t like it at all, but i also don’t like certain chairs, tables, and stationery that Elon buys. |
